CHAKWAL December 29: The construction of water dams was life and death
issue for the country, therefore these dams would be discussed not only in
public but this issue would also be brought at the parliament and
reservations of provinces must be removed but few hand picked so called
politicians that were rejected by the masses, they were trying to gain their
political ends and they were politicising construction of Kala Bagh Dam.
This was stated by federal Minister for environment Major (R) Tahir Iqbal
while talking to the newsman on Thursday. The minister was confident that
the people of Pakistan when realize the importance of Kala Bagh Dam, they
would support it because to bring agriculture and industrial revolution in
the country, the preservations of water reservoir were must for prosperous
Pakistan. He urged the opposition political parties that they should not
made politics on this important issue of Kala Bagh Dam and there were many
other occasions to do politics. He further told that more then 35 million
acre feet water was wasted and it goes into the sea. Replying to another
question the federal minister was of the view that Punjab province was
playing the role of elder brother as the most land and people of Punjab
would be effected with the construction of Kala Bagh Dam but still Punjab
was very vocal for the construction of Kala Bagh Dam, therefore the other
three provinces should cooperate with the federal Government regarding the
construction of big dams in the country.

CHAKWAL December 29: Freedom of press was still a horrible dream in the
county and the journalists were facing great pressure as some Government
levers to curb freedom of press are still very effective, therefore struggle
by the journalists is still going on and the destination was not very far
away. This was stated by Senior Vice President of Pakistan Federal Union of
Journalists CR Shamsi at Chakwal Press Club on Thursday and he was talking
at the topic of freedom of Press and Government pressure. Secretary General
Chakwal Press Club Khawaja Babar Saleem highlighted the problems faced by
the regional Journalists who was working round the clock but still they were
ignored by the provincial as well as federal Government. Mr. CR Shamsi was
of the view that there was a controlled democracy in the county and from
last 58 years every Government adopted negative tactics to curb the freedom
of press but the Journalists community is still struggling were hard and it
was struggle of senior Journalists that the rights of Journalists were up
held in the superior courts. He further told that an independent judiciary
and a true democratic Government is need of the hour of the country. He
further told that there was unrest among the general public due to dearness
of essential commodities, Law and order situation. He predicted that future
of media was very bright in Pakistan and he was confident that the
Journalists community would achieve its goal as the struggle have entered in
to the decisive stage.

CHAKWAL December 29: Sadar Police Chakwal nabbed a drug pusher at village
Chakral some 8 kilometer from here on Thursday and recovered more then 1
kilogram charas from him. Sub inspector Noor Khan along with police party
was stationed near basic health unity Chakral on the tip of the informer,
the accused Muhammad Anwar S/o. Muhmmad Fazal come there and when he was
thoroughly searched, 1028 gram of charas was recovered from him. Police has
registered a case of narcotics act against the accused and he was sent into
judicial lockup.

    CHAKWAL January 3: District Naib Nazim Chakwal and four Tehsil Naib
    Nazmeen of Chakwal, Talagang, Kallar Kahar and Choa Saiden Shah Tehsils took
    oath on Tuesday in five different functions at District Chakwal. District
    and Session Judge Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed administer the oath of District
    Naib Nazim Chakwal Sardar Amjad Ilyaas at District Council, District Nazim
    Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas, Parliamentary Secretary Ijaz Hussain Farhat,
    Government officials and Union Nazmeen were also present on this occasion.
    Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal Akram Awan took the oath from
    Tehsil Naib Nazim Chakwal Malik Muhammad Hayat at TMA Office Chakwal.
    Additional District and Session Judge Talagang Jawad Baig took the oath from
    Tehsil Naib Nazim Talagang Malik Aftab Ahmed at TMA Office Talagang. Senior
    Civil Judge administer the oath from Tehsil Naib Nazim Kallar Kahar Tasveer
    Hussain Shah, while Judicial Magistrate Ghafar Mehtaab Shah took the oath
    from Tehsil Naib Nazim Choa Saiden Shah Sadaqat Baig. After to oath of
    District and Tehsil Naib Nazmeen the local bodies institutions become
    functional. The local bodies’ election started from 25th August and now it
    was completed by 3rd January 2006.

    CHAKWAL January 3: Four office bearer of District Bar Association Chakwal
    were elected unopposed while there was a keen and close contest on the seats
    of President Ship and General Secretary Ship. Those who were elected
    unopposed were Sagheer Hussain Joint Secretary, Ch. Tasawar Hussain Finance
    Secretary, Miss Sumaira Munir Library Secretary, Ch. Arif Minhas Auditor.
    Chaudhary Asad Mehmood candidate for president ship of Pasha Group would
    face Raja Imtiaz Ahmed of Zaidi Group, while Nadeem Iqbal would face Mumtaz
    Mughal at General Secretary Ship seat. Four candidate have filed there
    nomination papers for the vice president seat and they were Raja Muhammad
    Aslam, Chaudhary Azad Sarfraz, Khurshid Ahmed. The election would be held on
    7th January and more than 280 members of District Bar would cast there
    votes.

    CHAKWAL January 3: The mother of Vice Chairman Chakwal Press Club Muhammd
    Khan Aqil was died on Tuesday and she was laid to rest at Sarpak Grave Yard
    in the evening and her last funeral was attended by hundred of people from
    all walk of life.

    CHAKWAL January 4: The death mystery of 20 years old virgin of village
    Sohawa in the area of Dhuman police station was solved and a murder case was
    registered against the unknown killer. Deceased Sidra Nazar was brought to
    District Head Quarter Hospital Chakwal in critical condition but she died at
    the hospital. The father Nazar Hussain told the police that Sidra was
    staying with her aunt and there it was told that she felt sickness and she
    was immediately shifted to the hospital. In preliminary medical report it
    was told that the death of Sidra Nazar was due to stoppage of her breath.
    Police investigated the matter and registered a murder case against the
    unknown accused. The father suspected that his real sister Azeemat Noor and
    her Daugher Iram Noor were involved in the murder of his Daughter. Sidra
    Nazar was died a month ago and now police have registered the case. The
    marriage of Sidra Nazar was to be held two days after his death and it was
    presumed earlier that Sidra Nazar was not happy in this marriage and she
    committed suicide.

    CHAKWAL January 4: A tax driver was killer at Chakwal, Talagang road near
    village Balkassar due to poor visibility. The taxi driver Mazhar Hussain was
    booked for Talagang from village Dhudial in the early morning and due to
    poor visibility on the road, the car turned turtle, resulting killing Mazhar
    Hussain on the spot, while the car was totally damaged.

    CHAKWAL January 4: The proceeding on the missing inquiry report of ASP
    Sadar Circle Chakwal would start on Thursday at the court of Additional
    District and Session Judge Chakwal Mr. Sohail Nasir regarding cable operator
    Mirza Dilshad Khan murder case. The judge have summoned ASP Sadar Circle
    Chakwal and then SHO of City Police Station Chakwal Mirza Fazal Ahmed, when
    ASP appearing at the court told that he conducted the inquiry on the order
    of DIG Rawalpindi and he filed his inquiry report at the file of murder case
    but now it was missing. Mirza Dilshad Khan deceased was murdered, while
    three other received multiple bullets injures, when seven person attacked on
    them and opened firing. FIR was registered against the seven accused and six
    of them were arrested but later on in the investigation, City police Chakwal
    declared two accused innocent, while some other irrevalant fake finding was
    made in the investigation to damage the FIR. It is learnt that ASP in his
    inquiry report declared all the seven accused in the FIR guilty, therefore
    the inquiry report was omitted from the file. All eyes were on at the court
    of Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal who all ready rejected the
    bail petitions of five accused last Saturday.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 16: Four accused including Ex-Naib Nazim Union Council and his
    brother Ex. Member District Council opened indiscriminate firing with
    automatic weapon, resulting multiple bullet injuries to four persons near
    village Dalail Pur in the area of Choa Saiden Shah Police Station. The
    injured Asad Ali S/o. Liaqat, Majid Mehmood S/o. Bilal Sher, Muhammad Malak
    S/o. Ahmed Khan and Said Zaman S/o. Muhammad Akhtar were cordoning barbed
    wire in their land and on this occasion Ex. Naib Nazim Union Council Khair
    Pur Capt. (R) Muahmmad Afzal and his brother Bostan Khan forbade them and
    claimed that they were erecting barbed wire on our land, but they continued
    and in the meantime Lorasab Khan and Mehdi Khan two real brothers S/o.
    Bostan Khan appeared on the scene and they opened firing on them. All the
    four persons were bathed in the pool of blood and they were immediately
    rushed to District Headquarter Hospital Chakwal and due to their critical
    condition they were shifted to Rawalpindi Hospital. Choa Saiden Shah police
    registered a case and started searching the accused who after the incident
    were managed to make good there escape from the scene.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 16: The missing inquiry report and other legal documents
    regarding the inquiry of ASP Sadar Circle Mr. Sajid Kiyani in the case of
    Cable Opertor Mirza Dilshad Khan was found and these documents now have
    become the part of Mirza Dilshad Khan murder case and challan of the case
    was also sent to the court. This statement was made by Ex. SHO inspector
    Fazal Ahmed at the court of Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal
    Mr. Sohail Nasir on Monday, therefore after recording the statement, the
    judge disposed of the petition filed by Mirza Walait Khan the father of the
    deceased. Earlier the inquiry report of ASP was not included in the challan,
    therefore this petition was filed. The Judge Sohail Nasir also directed DSP
    legal Mirza Safdar Hussain to submit the report after consulting with DPO
    Chakwal by 23rd January and he should tell the court that under which Law
    DPO Chakwal ordered third investigation in the murder case of Mirza Dilshad
    Khan. DSP investigation Nisar Kazim was also present at the court. The Judge
    already stopped this third investigation ordered by DPO on the petition of
    and injured Syed Intasar Mehdi which contended that the DPO Chakwal under
    the Police Order 2002 was not competent to order such inquiry.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 16: District and Session Judge Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed
    awarded 1 year rigorous imprisonment to a drug pusher. The accused Amjad Ali
    S/o. Khuda Baksh resident of Mohallah Bhattian Chakwal was booked by Dhuman
    Police and 150 gram Charas was recovered from him. The prosecution proved
    the case and the accused was also fined rupees 1 thousand and in default he
    will have to under go 1 month more impressments.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 18: Federal Minister for Parliamentary affairs Doctor Sher
    Afghan said on Wednesday that President General Pervaiz Musharaf announced
    the construction of five dams including Kala Bagh Dam and the way president
    presented the case of Water Reservoir before the nation he had convinced the
    whole nation that construction of reservoir was the need of the hour for the
    prosperous and the green Pakistan. He was talking to the delegation of
    Chakwal Press Club and his press secretary Mr. Tanveer Malik was also
    present on this occasion. Dr. Sher Afghan was of the view that those few
    hand picked politicians and regional parties which were rejected by the
    people was making politics on the issue of Kala Bagh Dam and they were
    pushed back to the wall. The minister further told that the long disputed
    issue of national finance commission was also settled and after the

    was also confident that people of Pakistan had realized and consensus on
    Kala Bagh Dam was not very far away.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 18: 17000 women councilors at District, Tehsil and Union
    Council level would be trained in Punjab Province and Ministry of Women
    Development Pakistan have approved the project of establishing women
    political school in all the four provinces of the country. UNDP had provided
    funds for this project. Provincial Project Director of women political
    schools Farah Saleem visited District Chakwal on Wednesday and presided a
    meeting of Women Councilors at Iqbal Library. While addressing the
    councilors she told that more then 300 workshops for women councilors would
    be held this year and 10 lead mentors would be selected from the women
    District Councilors in each District who would further train the women
    councilor in their District. She further told that this project would
    continue for three years. On this occasion women councilors apprised various
    problems faced by them and they complained that no development fund was
    given in the previous four years term of District Government. They further
    complained that honorariums was not given to them despite repeated
    assurances in the last tenure from the Government. Farah Saleem assured the
    women councilors that things were improving very rapidly and women
    councilors would get their due shares in the affairs of District, Tehsil and
    Union administrations.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 18: Chakwal Police in three different operations two drug
    pusher and an illicit arms from three different accused were recovered.
    Neela Police arrested Sajid Mehmood S/o. Abdul Rehman resident of village
    Bhagwal and 1.2 Kilogram Charas was recovered from him, Sadar Police Chakwal
    recovered 30 bore pistol and two bullets from Sajid Iqbal S/o. Muhammad
    Iqbal resident of village Mureed, while City Police Chakwal nabbed Muhammad
    Akram S/o. Muhammad Sharif resident of Moti Bazar Chakwal and 240 gram
    Charas was recovered from him. Police have registered separate cases against
    the accused and sent them in the judicial lockup.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 19: The Challan of cable operator Mirza Dilshad Khan Murder
    case was submitted and the trial of the case was started on Thursday at the
    court of Addition District and Session Judge Chakwal Sohail Nasir. The six
    accused Mian Abdur Rashid, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Rafiq, Tahir Mehmood, Rana
    Naveed and Arshad Nazeer were present at the court. Additional District and
    Session Judge in the preliminary hearing ordered that the seventh accused
    Pir Abdul Sattar Nadeem S/o. Muhammad Ismail nominated in the FIR should be
    brought in the court on 23rd January as prima-facie there was sufficient
    grounds to proceed against him. The accused Pir Abdul Sattar was declared
    innocent in the first investigation conducted by investigation officer of
    City Police Station, while in the second investigation conducted by ASP
    Sadar Circle Mr. Sajid Kiyani declared that all the seven accused nominated
    in the FIR were present at the time of occurrence. The seventh accused was
    not arrested by the police so for, despite various applications filed by the
    father of the deceased. It was worth mentioning here that two persons were
    killed while two received multiple bullet injuries, when the seven accused
    opened in discriminate firing on 26th October 2005 in the area of City
    Police Station at Jhelum Road Chakwal. The Judge adjourned the murder case
    for 23rd January.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 19: Two persons were killed in different incident. A 45 years
    old owner of Saw Machine was killed at village Bikhari Kalan some 25
    kilometer from here, when his shirt was involved at the Shaft of the
    Machine, resulting his body into pieces. In the second incident a Motor
    Mechanic Muhammad Akhtar was killed, when he was on his way inside the well
    at village Jaba in the area of Kallar Kahar police station. The wood of the
    ladder was broken and he fell down deep in the well, resulting his killing
    on the spot.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 19: Civil Judge Chakwal and Magistrate section 30 Ghafar
    Mehtab Shah was transferred to Rawalpindi, while Civil Judge Tahir Niazi was
    transferred to Chakwal from Lahore. Ghafar Mehtab Shah worked here for more
    than two years. In the meantime District Police Officer Chakwal Chaudhary
    Mushtaq Hussain Bargatt would retire from his service by 31st January and IG
    Punjab appointed Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir SP Special Branch Lahore as a new DPO
    Chakwal. Mr. Jhangir would assume his charge on 1st February.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 25: Punjab Government released the funds for the first
    Fossils Museum at Kallar Kahar that would be completed with the cost of
    rupees 15 million and it would be completed with in two years. This was
    stated by Director General Archeological Punjab Dr. Shahbaz Khan after
    visiting the site of museum at Bagh-e-Safa Kallar Kahar which was
    established by great Mughal emperor Zaheer-ul-Din Babar. Dy. Director Tariq
    Masood and Local Archeologist Professor Yaseen Siddiqi were also present on
    this occasion. Doctor Shahbaz Khan was of the view that District Chakwal was
    the heaven of Archeology and Punjab Archeology Department had recovered 75
    different sites in this area which is in the range of one thousand years to
    30 million years old and the biggest concentration of Fossils through out
    the world was found in the Salt Range area. Doctor Shahbaz Khan further told
    that more then 10 significant Archeological sites of District Chakwal were
    not only to be preserved but the excavation work would also start on these
    sites and some more startling discoveries of ancient civilization is also
    expected. Doctor Shahbaz replying to another question told that foundation
    stone of Fossils Museum would be laid down in the next month and Chief
    Minister Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Ellahi would be asked to a inaugurate this
    important project because Chief Minister Punjab wanted to uplift Kallar
    Kahar as a second best hill station of Punjab province. He further told that
    the local discoveries of Archeology importance in District Chakwal would be
    displayed in the museum.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 25: Federal Minister for environment Major (R) Tahir Iqbal
    said on Wednesday that the meeting between Prime Minister Shoukat Aziz and
    American President George W. Bush was historic as Mr. Bush accepted the
    invitation of Prime Minister to visit Pakistan and his visit in March would
    have a significant impact on the Pakistan economy. He was talking to the
    newsman. The Federal Minister also told that incident of Bajur Agency would
    not be repeated as it was also discussed in the meeting of Prime Minister
    with Mr. Bush. Replying to another question Federal Minister was of the view
    that decision of Federal Cabinet that five Reservoirs including Kala Bagh
    Dam was constructed and the any future Government is bound to implement this
    decision till 2016. He further told that Government was not repulsed from
    Kala Bagh Dam as its construction was the lifeline of Pakistan and
    solidarity of the county would be consolidated. Replying to another question
    the Federal Minister was confident that the next general election would be
    held in schedule time in 2007 and no political change was in the offing in
    near future as the elected Federal and Provincial Governments were working
    smoothly.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 25: Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir was appointed new District Police
    Officer Chakwal as his predecessor Mushtaq Hussain Barqatt would retire from
    the service by 30th January after completing his service tenure. Ahmed Ishaq
    Jahangir who was presently working as SP Special Branch Lahore was notified
    as new DPO Chakwal by the Punjab Government and he would assume the charge
    on 31st January.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 26: The elections of Jamat Islami District Chakwal have been
    completed and those who were elected are Naib Amir one Chaudhary Muhammad
    Amir, Naib Amir Two Al-Haj Zafar Iqbal, Secretary General Doctor Arif Javed,
    while Moulana Abdul Sattar remained Amir of District Chakwal. The members of
    Majlase Shoora were Professor Tahir Malik, Malik Shoujahat Ali Khan,
    Athar-ul-Hasan Atif, Qazi Ahmed Din, Professor Amir Malik, Ashraf Asif,
    Moulana Muhammad Rafiq, Ahmed Khan, Qazi Abdul Ghafour, Raja Muhammad Anwar,
    Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah and Hafiz Abdul Raouf. After the election District
    Amir Moulana Abdul Sattar while talking to the newsman told that the mix
    Marathon race of male and female at Lahore was against the spirit of Islamic
    values and the ruler of Pakistan was acting on the agenda of Anti Islamic
    forces. They demanded immediate resignation of General Pervaiz Musharaf who
    was failed to deliver in all important issues faced by the country.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 26: A Wapda lineman was arrested red handed at village Bhar
    Pur while merry making with a married women in the area of Kallar Kahar
    Police Station. The lineman Abdul Rashid and a married woman Dil Khurram
    were making sex inside the house and the matter was reported to Nazim Union
    Council Bhar Pur Pir Bahawal Haq and he along with the people of the
    locality raided the house and caught them red handed. The couple was handed
    over to police and police registered a case of Haddood Ordinance against
    them and started investigation. Police sources told that the accused Abdul
    Rasheed was frequent visitor of Dil Khurram and he became the member of the
    family and in this process he developed illicit relations with Dil Khurram.
    Police further told that the husband of married women knew all about the
    illicit relation of Abdul Rasheed and his wife Dil Khurram but he was
    reluctant.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 26: There are 38762 vacancies of Numberdars were lying vacant
    through out the Punjab Province and Chief Minister Punjab approved a master
    plan for the strengthening of Numberdari system in the Province. Sources
    close to the Punjab Government told that two and half acres agriculture
    lands would be provided to each Numberdar on lease basis, however after the
    death of Numberdar lease would be cancelled and the land would become the
    property of Punjab Government. Matric pass education was declared necessary
    for the qualification of Numberdar and the vacancies of Numberdar would be
    filled very soon.

    CHAKWAL, Jan 30: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Mrs. Saba Sadiq has said
    that Chief Minister Punjab have constituted various committees headed by
    provincial ministers to sort out the differences and groupings that were
    made in certain district in the ranks of Pakistan Muslim League in the
    recent local bodies election and provincial Minister for local bodies Raja
    Basharat heads the committee formed for District Chakwal to end differences
    with senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League Lt. General (R) Abdul
    Majeed Malik and District Nazim Sardar Ghulam Abbas and committee would
    start it work after the 10th Moharam. She was addressing a press conference
    at Civil Rest House Chakwal on Monday after meeting with District, Tehsil
    and Union Councillors. Mrs. Saba Sadiq further told that the Women Wing of
    Pakistan Muslim League would be organized at Union Council level on the
    direction of president of Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhary Pervaiz Ellahi.
    Earlier while talking to the councilors Mrs. Saba Sadiq told that Punjab
    Government have established Shelter Homes in all the 35 Districts of Punjab
    Province, while Dar-ul-Aman would start functioning in the next few days and
    all the formalities have been finalized. Mrs. Saba Sadiq further assured the
    Councillors that they should be included in all the major activities in
    their areas in development and other important matter. The advisor to Chief
    Minister Punjab Saba Sadiq also visited Tent Village Chakwal and she
    listened the problems of the people faced by the them at Tent Village
    Chakwal. DCO Chakwal Doctor Azam Saleem briefied about the functioning of
    Tent Village Chakwal and told that more then 2 hundred earthquake were

    awarded rigorous imprisonments to the accused Haitam Khan S/o. Mair Khan
    resident of village Kharli of Kallar Kahar Police Station involved in
    kidnapping of 13 years old young girl and made sexual assault on her for so
    many days in a near by Jungle. The accused was also fined rupees 50 thousand
    and in default he will have to under go six month more imprisonments. The
    three other co-accused including two real brothers of the accused Abdul
    Raouf, Malik Khan and Muhammad Yousaf were acquitted by giving them the
    benefit of the doubt. According to the prosecution the accused on gun point
    abducted 13 years old young girl Kalsoom Akhtar from the village well some
    two years ago.

    Kallar Kahar police station when three young dacoits entered into her house
    but due to her valiant effort, she got hold one of them and he was handed
    over to the police. Mukhtar Begam D/o. Muhammad Ali told the police that she
    went out for working in the farm field and she came back after three hours,
    she found three dacoits running from her house. She caught hold one of them
    but he opened fire on her with Pistol, which made her injured. The neighbor
    also rushed on the spot and the accused that were identified Nasir Ali S/o.
    Muhammad Niaz resident of Mandi Bahawal Din was handed over to police, as 10
    Gold Ornaments and one Wrist watch was missing. Kallar Kahar police
    registered the case and started searching the other accused.

    CHAKWAL, Feb 1: Army is to assist the local administration to maintain law
    and order during the month of Moharam. District Chakwal was included among
    15 other Districts of Punjab Province that was declared sensitive in a high
    level meeting during the month of Moharam. Two companies of Pak Army would
    be deployed in District Chakwal. It is worth mentioning her that for the
    processions of 7th Moharam and 17 Safar, army is to be called for last 20
    years and it was only first time that Army was not called in the last year
    in Moharam. The new DPO Chakwal Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir has finalized to
    security plan and Punjab Constabulary and police officials from Rawalpindi
    is to be called for 7th Moharam procession and they would be deployed on the
    routes of procession. District Police have made foolproof arrangements
    during the month of Moharam and all the DSP in circle has been mobilized and
    special petrol during day and night was ordered by DPO during the Moharam.

    CHAKWAL, Feb 1: A professor and his sister were looted at gun point at
    village Buchal Kalan in the area of Kallar Kahar police station some 40
    kilometer from here. Four armed person armed with automatic weapons, stormed
    into the house at night time and on gun point they looted two and half lack
    cash, 30 thousand American Dollars, Gold Ornaments and other valuable
    articles. The accused locked both brother and sister into a room and fled
    away from the scene. Kallar Kahar police registered the case and started
    investigation.

    CHAKWAL, Feb 1: The division bench of Lahore High Court adjourned the
    hearing on the bail petition field by an accused Arshad Nazeer S/o. Muhammad
    Nazeer involved in a famous murder case of cable operator Mirza Dilshad Khan
    for seventh February. The accused Arshad Nazeer in his petition contended
    that he was declared innocent in the preliminary investigation and his name
    was in column no. 2 of the case, therefore he was titled to be granted bail.
    Chaudhary Zahoor Hussain advocate appeared on behalf of Mirza Dilshad Khan
    told the court that the inquiry conducted by ASP Sadar Circle Chakwal not
    only confirmed that all the seven accused nominated in the FIR were present
    at the time of occurrence but all the seven accused were involved in the
    killing of Mirza Dilshad Khan and multiple bullet injuries to three other
    persons. Chaudhar Zahoor Hussain was of the view that the accused deserved
    no mercy, therefore his bail should be dismissed. The Division Bench
    adjourned the hearing of the case for 7th February. The accused was
    presented by Chaudhary Mehmood Akhtar Advocate.

    CHAKWAL, Feb 4: District & Session Judge Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed awarded
    death sentence to an accused killer involved in a famous murder case of a
    professor at village Hastaal in the area of Sadar Police Station Chakwal.
    The accused Nizakat Hussain Alias Rambo murdered a young professor Azhar
    Abbas S/o. Sher Khan on a very minor dispute of Pipe Fitting. The accused
    was also fined rupees 2 lack and in default of payment he will have to under
    go six month more imprisonment. The professor was killed on 13th October
    2005 and District and Session Judge disposed the case with in two month
    record time. It is interesting that the father of the accused, Haji Gulistan
    Khan was died after few days of the occurrence due to cruel act his son
    Nizakat Hussain.

    deployed on all along the routes of procession and the routes would be

    CHAKWAL, Feb 5: The religious parties of District Chakwal on Sunday taken
    out a procession and made solidarity with Kashmiries and they also condemned
    the cartoonist and newspaper who had published the cartoons of Hazrat
    Muhammad (PBUH). The procession was carried out from Dar-ul-Aloom Hanfia
    Chakwal and it was lead by Amir Jamiat Ulmaia Islam Pir Abdul Rahim
    Naqshbandi. The participants were chanting slogans in favour of Kasmiries
    and they were also very vocal against Denmark and demanding immediate
    shifting of Denmark ambassador from Pakistan. They marched on the various
    roads of the city and at Chappar Bazar Chakwal it was converted into a big
    public meeting. Those who spoke on this occasion were Qazi Ghulam Abbas,
    Al-Haj Qazi Zafar Iqbal, Qari Noor Alam, Moulana Mehmood-ul-Hasan Ghazanfar,
    Abdul Qadoos Naqshbandi, Chaudhary Munir Ahmed and they all criticized the
    Pakistan Government policies and termed the dialogue with India as total
    fraud. They were of the view that the Kashmir can only be librated thought
    Jihad. The speaker also condemned the editor cartoonist and Denmark
    Government and demanded the hanging of editor and cartoonist, who published
    the cartoon of Holy Prophet. Later on the procession was dispersed
    peacefully.

    cases and Chakwal City was in the grip of theft cases as daily four to five
    peoples were affected from the thefts. They demanded the improvement of the
    present situation, otherwise a protest movement would be launched against
    DCO Chakwal , as District Chakwal become the territory of unlawlessness and
    the people are feeling unsecured, due to unlawful activities of DCO Chakwal.

    Nasir accepted bails after arrest petition of married women of village Bhar
    Pur of Police Station Kallar Kahar that was booked by police in Hadood
    Ordinance Case. According to the FIR police arrested Mrs. Dil Khurram with a
    Wapda lineman Abdul Rashid when people of the village stormed into her
    house. The Judge observed that the proceeding of Police was bogus, as police
    was under the influence the Union Nazim of that area. The husband of the
    married women also field a petition for registration of case against Union
    Nazim and others for tress passing his house and beating them on the day of
    so called occurrence. The Judge while disposing the petition, directed
    Sultan Baksh to file a private complaint against the accused as tress
    passing in the house was confirmed and the Mala-fide intention of police was
    proved. The Judge observed that he was not ordering for registration of case
    as police had become party in this case. The accused Mrs. Dil Khurram was
    directed to submit rupees 30 thousands bail bond for the satisfaction of the

    CHAKWAL February 11: The bye-election of Nazim of Union Council five
    Chakwal city would be held on 11th March and it would be contested between
    two traditional rivals Amir Bhatti Group and District Nazim Group. The
    nomination papers would be field on 14th and 15th February. A meeting of
    Amir Bhatti Group was held at the residence of Ex. Tehsil Nazim Amir Bhatti
    and it was largely attended by the different Baradries of the Union Council.
    A 23 members committee, including eights councilors of Union Council was
    constituted to bring a strong and consensus candidate from the Group.
    District Nazim Sardar Ghulam Abbas was also consulting his supporters and it

    CHAKWAL February 12: A bid to kidnap 5 years old minor girl was foiled
    by Rescue 15 and Sadar Police Chakwal and the kidnapper was arrested red
    handed after one hour of the occurrence. Maria D/o. Muhammad Nisar was
    playing out side her house and she was abducted from Mohallah Jahangir Town
    Chakwal by an unknown person, however Rescue 15 was informed and DPO Chakwal
    Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir immediately ordered the Naka Bandi of the District. The
    accused Muhammad Hussain S/o. Muhammad Khan resident of village Jound was
    arrested in the area of Sadar Police Station at Sargodha Road Chakwal and
    the minor girl was recovered from him. The accused was a chronic criminal
    and some sensational discovery was expected during the investigation.

    people involved in this heinous crime. He urged the Pakistan Government to
    boycott all import and export with those countries involved in this act.

    police was present on this occasion.

    Environment Major (R) Tahir Iqbal who was short injured at village Jand Awan
    in the area of Dhuman Police Station was stable at Pims Islambad and the
    Doctor had pulled out a bullet from the head of injured Nadeem Haider. The
    accused Muhammad Ishaq S/o. Karamat Hussain and Muhammad Jameel S/o. Abdul
    Razzaq opened fire on Nadeem Haider due to domestic dispute. Dhuman Police
    registered a case on the report of the mother of injured Khalid Begum
    against the two accused, however both the accused were managed to make good
    their escape from the scene.

    CHAKWAL February 13: A divorced wife was axed to death at village
    Dhudial and the killer surrendered himself before the police. The deceased
    Naheed Akhtar was divorced some 2 years ago by Muhammad Ayub. Naheed Akhtar
    married to another person and when she came to visit her children at the
    house of her ex. Husband Muhammad Ayub, he got infuriated and he attacked on
    Naheed Akhtar with axe and killed her on the spot. Dhudial Police registered
    a case after arresting the accused along with the axe, used in the killing
    and started investigation. The report was lodged in the police station by
    the Son of the killer, Tasawar Hussain.

    recovered a 12 bore gun from Asif Mehmood S/o. Noor Hussain resident of
    village Chakral. In the meantime City Police Chakwal arrested Umar Hayat
    S/o. Muhammad Yousaf resident of village Hastaal and 150 gram Charas was
    recovered from him. Separate cases were registered against the accused.

    resolved and it was confirmed in the medical report that Amir Hussain
    committed suicide. The dead body of Amir Hussain resident of village Mohra
    Qazi was found hanging at the tree near village Thoa Bahadar. His dead body
    was taken into custody and immediately shifted to District Headquarter
    Hospital Chakwal for autopsy. It was confirmed in the medical report that
    the cause of his death was strangulation. Police sources told that their was
    many cases of deceased Amir Hussain were lying pending at the local courts,
    which made him desperate and he got strangulated himself with a rope and
    hanged himself.

    CHAKWAL February 15: Four candidates have filed their nomination papers
    on Wednesday for the by election of Nazim Union Council Five of Chakwal
    City. The nomination papers were field before returning officer Additional
    District & Session Judge Chakwal Sohail Nasir and they were Sahabzada Abdul
    Qadoos Naqshbandi S/o. Ghulam Habib, Shahid Abbasi, S/o. Mushtaq Abbasi of
    Amir Bhatti Group, while Abdul Gharfar Bhatti and Abdul Jabbar Bhatti S/o.
    Muhammad Yousaf Bhatti of District Nazim Group. The scrutiny and objection
    of nomination papers would be heard on 18th February. The final list would
    be published on 23rd February, while election symbols would be allotted on
    24th February. The election date was fixed 11th March. It is a keen contest
    between the two traditional rivals groups, as Muhammad Nazeer Shami of Amir
    Bhatti Group defeated Shiekh Muhammad Riaz Farooqi of District Nazim Group
    in the recent local bodies’ election and the seat was lying vacant after the
    death of Muhammad Nazeer Shami.

    CHAKWAL February 15: District and Session Judge Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq
    Ahmed acquitted an accused husband involved in the famous murder case of his
    wife of city police station Chakwal by giving him the benefit of the doubt.
    The accused 60 years old Raja Sher Muhammad Arif S/o. Fateh Muhammad
    resident of Mohallah Siddiq Abad Chakwal killed his 27 years old wife Razia
    Begum on 13th October 2005 as husband suspected the character of his wife.
    The prosecution was failed to prove the case, therefore the benefit of the
    doubt was given to the accused.

    CHAKWAL February 15: Punjab Lecturers Association District Chakwal
    adopted a resolution against TMA Chakwal and condemned the demolishing of
    the boundary wall of Government College Chakwal. The meeting was held at
    Government College Chakwal as President Professor Akhtar Nawaz was in the
    chair. It was told in the meeting that TMA not only demolished the boundary
    wall but it had taken the land of the college into its custody for the
    construction of the market. They appealed to the higher authorities to
    intervene into the matter and stop the illegal action of TMA.

    CHAKWAL February 18: Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Ellahi and
    Chief Secretary Punjab took a serious notice of construction of market at a
    land of Government Post Graduate College Chakwal and directed DCO Chakwal to
    stop this construction work. This was stated by Ex. MPA Chaudhary Ayaz Amir,
    who led a delegation of citizen and traders of Chakwal City, who met
    principal Government Post Graduate College Chakwal Mr. Aziz-ur-Rehman on
    Saturday at his office. Ayaz Amir talked to Chief Minister and told that TMA
    Chakwal was constructing a market at the land of college and boundary wall
    of the college was pushed back and it was taken into unlawful custody of TMA
    Chakwal, Principal of the college was also her harassed. Principal
    Aziz-ur-Rehman told the delegation that Federal Government have issued a
    notification that no commercial shops can be constructed at the land of
    educational institutions. The principal further told that District Nazim
    Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas had called him and officials of TMA at his
    office on Saturday and directed that the documents of the owner ship of the
    land should be produced before him and in the meantime District Nazim
    directed to stop the work. Ayaz Amir was of the view that Government College
    Chakwal was a sacred place and to safeguard its property is the duty of not
    only the administration of the college but also the citizens of the city.
    Punjab Lecturers Association District Chakwal role was appreciated by Ayaz
    Amir which adopted a unanimous resolution by them and it was conveyed to him
    by post. The president of Tanzeem-e-Sharian Qazi Ghulam Abbas and president
    Federal Tajrain Chaudhary Munir Ahmed thanked Chief Minister Punjab for his
    immediate interference and save the land of Government College Chakwal.

    CHAKWAL February 18: The maternal Nephew of Federal Minister for
    Environment Major (R) Tahir Iqbal was died on Saturday after he was hit by a
    bullet injury some seven days ago at his native village Jand Awan in the
    area of Dhuman Police Station. The deceased Nadeem Haider was also a grand
    son of Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim Lt. General (R) Abdul Majeed
    Malik. Nadeem Haider was hit by a pistol shot by the two accused who was
    close relative to him. Nadeem Haider was laid to rest at village Jand Awan
    on Saturday evening.

    CHAKWAL February 18: The nomination papers of all the four candidates
    who have filed for the slot of Nazim Union Council Five Chakwal City at the
    court of Returning Officer Mr. Sohail Nasir were found correct on Saturday.
    The objection raised against Sahabzada Abdul Qadoos Naqshbandi a candidate
    of Amir Bhatti Group by Food Deparment Chakwal that his flour mill was
    defaulter of the department. Returning Officer was told that the said flour
    mill was owned by some other person and it was purchased by Sahabzada Abdul
    Qadoos Naqsbandi and he was a new owner and not a defaulter. The RO
    dismissed the objection. The other three candidates were Shahid Abbasi,
    Abdul Ghafar Bhatti and Abdul Jabbar Bhatti. It is likely to be a straight
    fight between Abdul Qadoos Naqshbandi and Abdul Ghafar Bhatti, while the two
    others were the covering candidates. The by election of this seat would be
    held on 11th March.

    CHAKWAL February 19: The proposed rally of MMA District Chakwal was
    stopped by heavy contingent of police on Sunday and no single person was
    allowed to travel for Islamabad. The workers of MMA gathered at the office
    of Jamat Islami were dispersed by police and later on they assembled at
    Dar-ul-Aloom Hanfia Chakwal, where a protest meeting was held and it was
    addressed by Sahabzada Abdul Qadoos Naqshbandi, Moulana Mehmood-ul-Hasan
    Ghazanfar, Qari Noor Alam, Qazi Zafar Iqbal, Chaudhary Munir Ahmed and they
    criticized the Government that the peaceful rally of Namous-e-Risalat was
    stopped on gun point by the District Administration Chakwal and it showed
    the cowardness of the Government. The Dar-ul-Aloom Hanfia was cordoned by
    heavy contingent of police. Later on an agreement was reached and then the
    protestors marched towards Bhoun Chowk and they chanted slogans against the
    Government. Earlier heavy contingent of the police took control of the bus
    and wagon stands and the transport was jammed, therefore people going to
    other cities were paralyzed at the bus and wagon stands and caused great
    problems for them.

    CHAKWAL February 19: DIG Rawalpindi Range Syed Murawat Shah dismissed
    Inspector Mirza Fazal Ahmed and Sub Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed from the
    service involved in omitting the inquiry report of ASP Sadar Circle Chakwal,
    regarding the murder case of Cable Operator Mirza Dilshad Khan. SP Crimes
    Branch conducted an inquiry on the order of DIG and according to his report
    inspector Fazal Ahmed, Ex. SHO of City Police Station Chakwal and Sub
    Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed omitted the inquiry report and other findings of
    ASP Sadar Circle Chakwal Mr. Sajid Kiyani. It is worth mentioning here that
    Inspector Mirza Fazal Ahmed and Sub Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed after getting
    handsome amount of bribe declared two main accused Pir Abdul Sattar Nadeem
    and Arshad Nazeer of the murder case declared innocent. Later on ASP Sadar
    Circle Chakwal also conducted an inquiry on the order of the DIG and
    confirmed in his inquiry report that all the seven accused nominated in FIR
    were present at the time of occurrence and he challaned them. The inquiry
    report of ASP was omitted to give benefit to the accused.

    CHAKWAL February 19: Chief Minister Punjab issued a directive to
    construct 180 shops around Post Graduate College Chakwal and this directive
    was issued on the recommendation of District Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam
    Abbas. According to the directive it was directed that the project may be
    executed as planned. According to the directive Chief Minister further
    desired that Education Department may facilitate the District Government
    Chakwal in this regard. The directive was send to DCO Chakwal who forwarded
    it to the EDO Education Chakwal to implement this directive in its true
    spirit. It is worth mentioning here that Ex. MPA Chaudhary Ayaz Amir reacted
    very sharply on this issue and he along with local associations demanded
    that this project showed be stopped forthwith and according to the law of
    land no shops and commercial markets cannot be built at the land of any
    educational institution through out the country.

    said on Wednesday that MMA and other opposition political parties should

    leadership. A meeting was held at DCO office Chakwal and it was presided
    over by District Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas, while District Police
    Officer Chakwal Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir was also present on this occasion.
    District Nazim told that section 144 was imposed in District Chakwal,
    therefore there was a complete Ban on rallies and processions, however
    protest meeting was allowed for any organization. District Police Officer
    Chakwal told that the protestors should inform his office 24 hours before
    the meeting, they would be provided full protection, however no one will be
    allowed to take law into his hand. Moulana Abdul Qadoos Naqshbandi president

    talking to the villages was of the view that they were feeling pleasure to
    provide this facility to the people of the village. Nazim Union Council

    CHAKWAL February 25: Additional District & Session Judge Chakwal Akram
    Awan award 25 years rigorous imprisonment to an accused Imtiaz Ahmed
    involved in a famous murder case of city police station Chakwal, while his
    father Mukhtar Ahmed S/o. Abdul Rehman was acquitted by giving him the
    benefit of the doubt. The killer Imtiaz Ahmed was also fined rupees 1 lac
    and in-default he will have to under go six month more imprisonment.
    According to the prosecution accused Imtiaz Ahmed and his father Mukhtar
    Ahmed after loosing rupees 3 thousand to the deceased Abdul Qayyum in the
    gambling, both father and son got infuriated and they strangulated Abdul
    Qayyum with a scarf, resulting his instant death on the spot.

    CHAKWAL February 25: Imamia Students Organization took out a procession
    from Government Post Graduate College on Saturday to protect at the attack
    on Samara and they marched on the various roads on the city. They were
    chanting slogans against USA and Israel, they marched on the various roads
    of the city and after reaching Bhoun Chowk Chakwal, they were dispersed
    peacefully. Heavy contingent of the police were present at the time of
    procession. However earlier another sect of student organization was beaten
    by the ISO protesters and the rivals wanted to cross the rally during the
    procession on motor cycle. The other Shia Organizations would also take out
    procession on 26th February to protest the attack on the shrines of Samara.
    The procession would come out on 26th February at 10 AM from Imam Bargah
    Saadat Chakwal.

    CHAKWAL February 25: District Police Officer Chakwal Ahmed Ishaq
    Jahangir on Saturday transferred two SHO’s of Lawa and Dhuman Police
    Station. SHO of Dhuman Police Station Inspector Mirza Muhammad Ashraf was
    posted to security branch, while Sub Inspector Muhammad Din of Sadar Police
    Station Talagang was appointed as the new SHO of Dhuman Police Station. SHO
    of Lawa Police Station Javed Anwar who was on medical leave, therefore
    inspector Chaudhary Nazar Muhammad of investigation cell was temporarily
    appointed as the SHO of Lawa Police Station. Inspector Security Safdar Ali
    Shah was transferred as RI-District Police Line Chakwal. Some more transfer
    in police department was likely in the next few days and few more SHO’s was
    expected to be reshuffle.

    participated in this protest. They were protesting terrorist act at Samara
    where two Holy Shrines were demolished. The women and children also attended
    the procession. The procession after marching at the various roads of the
    city turned into a big public meeting at Bab-e-Chakwal. The speakers on this
    occasion were of the view that America was behind the destruction of Holy
    Shrines at Samara and America wanted to confront Shia’s and Sunni’s across
    the world. They urged the Muslim Ummah to get united at one plate form as
    the anti Islamic forces are active to give tuff time to Muslim Ummah. Heavy
    contingent of police was deployed along the procession but no untoward
    incident was occurred and protesters disperse peacefully.

    Chakwal to offer their rituals rites. The pilgrims would stay here at Katas
    Raj till 28th February. They were welcomed by Deputy District Officer
    Revenue Choa Saiden Shah Yahya Khanzada and Tehsil Nazim Choa Saiden Shah
    Raja Nasir Jamal and other officials. The group leader Mrs. Lakshami while
    speaking on this occasion was of the view that they had brought the message
    of peace, love and brotherhood from one billion people of India. She
    demanded that the visa system should be finished from both sides of the
    country who wanted to visit holy shrines. The Hindu pilgrims were told that
    Pakistan Government have allocated rupees 20 million for the revivals and
    preservation of Katas Raj and work on this project was under way. The Hindu
    pilgrims bathed in the Holy Pond of Katas Raj. It is worth mentioning here
    that Katas Raj was the second sacred place of Hindus after Banaras at
    Hindustan. The District Government provided facilities of bank, post office,
    telephone and other local manufacturing items at the residential area that
    was established at Mines School of Katas, while District Police Officer
    Chakwal Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir made elaborate arrangements on this occasion.

    CHAKWAL, March 6: Chakwal police in different operations recovered illicit
    arms and narcotics from the accused and registered separate cases against
    them. City police Chakwal arrested Muhammad Nazeer resident of Village
    Munara and 32 bore pistol was recovered from him, while a 30 bore pistol was
    recovered from Allah Ditta resident of Mohallah Rehmania Chakwal, the
    accused Khizar Hayat resident of Miyani Gondal was arrested and 50 gram
    Charas was recovered from him, while Muhammad Nawaz of Mohallah Line Park
    was also nabbed by City police and 32 bore revolver was recovered from him.
    Dhudial police arrested Abdul Rehman resident of village Bheen and 30 bore
    revolver was recovered from him, Kallar Kahar police arrested Zafar Iqbal
    resident of village Khair Pur and 45 gram Charas was recovered from him,
    while 3 bottle liquor was recovered from Aqeel Messiah. Kallar Kahar police
    in another operation arrested Shakeel Ahmed resident of village Lakhwal and
    3 bottles licquor was recovered from him. In the meantime Dhudial police
    arrested 4 judicial deserters and they were Qudrat Rasheed, Abdul Aziz,
    Mazhar Abbas and Liaquat Ali.

    CHAKWAL, March 6: District Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas on Monday
    categorically declared that no earth quick victim would be shifted from
    Chakwal Tent Village until and unless they was provided alternate land for
    their houses. This assurance was made by District Nazim, when he visited
    Chakwal Tent Village and where he was apprised by the various problems faced
    by the affectees of earth quake victim. There were 3 thousands earth quick
    victims were living in Chakwal Tent Village from the last five months. They
    demanded that no financial assistance was made to them by the Government yet
    for the constructions of homes back in Muzaffarabad. District Nazim told
    that he had talked to the relief commissioner and their case was taken up by
    the competent authority and he was confident that maximum benefit would be
    given to the resident of Chakwal Tent Village. District Nazim was of the
    view that District Government was trying its best to provide all the basic
    facilities at the Chakwal Tent Village and in difficult conditions.

    CHAKWAL, March 6: District and Session Judge Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed
    declared two male and a female candidate elected unopposed for the election
    of District Public Safety Commission from District Council Chakwal. Mrs.
    Saima Khizar and Amjad Hussain Advocate with drew their nomination papers on
    Monday, therefore only 3 candidates left in the field, therefore Muhammad
    Tariq Awan, Pir Nisar Qasim and Mrs. Farhat Kamal were declared unopposed
    and the names of successfully candidates were displayed in front of the
    office of District and Session Judge Chakwal. District and Session Judge
    Chakwal Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed also cancelled the meeting of District Council
    Chakwal that was schedule to be held on 8th March to elect the three members
    through secret ballet from the members of District Council Chakwal. District
    and Session Judge Chakwal conveyed the successfully candidates to the home
    secretary Punjab.

    CHAKWAL, April 4: To smuggle two million rupees materials was foiled by
    Motorway Police Chakwal in the Salt Range Area. Bus No. NRC-1126 was on its
    way to Lahore from Peshawar and it met an accident at Salt Range Area,
    Motorway Police was rushed on the spot and two injured Zahid and Nasar-Ullah
    was shifted to District Headqarter Hospital Chakwal. In the mean time the
    bus was checked by Motorway Police and it was found, foreign clothes, spare
    parts and other uncustomary material was recovered and this material was
    handed over to customs intelligence, who registered the case against Amjad
    Khan resident of Peshawar.

    CHAKWAL, April 4: Nazim Union Council Dhudial and two others were booked
    by Railway Police on the charge of occupying the land of railway department
    at Dhudial Railway Station. Railway department was informed that Babu
    Rasheed after demolishing the wall of the railway department occupied the
    land and made illegal construction on it. As inquiry commission rushed on
    the spot but Nazim Union Council Dhudial Musarat Iqbal gave a written oath
    that there was a no wall of Railway Department on the site and Babu Rasheed
    and his brother Muhammad Saleem have not occupied the land of Railway
    Department. Later on when the record of Railway was checked, the wall was
    found and illegal occupying was also confirmed. On the report of Railway
    Officer IW Gujjar Khan, Railway Police registered a case no. 81 under
    section 447, 472 and 122 Railway act and started searching the accused, no
    arrest so far has been made.

    resident of village Odherwal and 30 bore pistol was recovered from him.
    While City Police also recovered 105 gram Charas from Muhammad Shahbaz
    resident of Moti Bazar Chakwal. Dhudial Police arrested Sijad Hussain
    resident of village Parhal and 7 MM rifle was recovered from him. Police
    have registered separate cases against the accused and sent them into
    judicial lockup.

    CHAKWAL, May 31: The Education Department District Chakwal announced the
    annual results of Middle Standard Examination 2006 and on this occasion EDO
    Education Iqbal Awan in the presence of DCO Chakwal Doctor Azam Saleem,
    District Officer Secondary Malik Bashir Jafar, Parliamentary Secretary
    Punjab Ijaz Farhat and Tehsil Nazim Chakwal Sardar Aftab Akbar decleared
    that first top three position went to the girls students of District Public
    Higher Secondary School Chakwal. Sumeera Arshard secured 720 marks and stood
    first, while Ayesha Bibi bagged 708 marks and stood second, while Anbar
    Khalid got 707 marks and stood third. 18299 male and female students
    participated in the exams, while 15786 candidates declared successful. The
    pass percentage was 86.26 percent. The male students who stood first was
    Atif Nazeer of Govt. Elementary School Mohra Kor Chasam and he bagged 700
    marks. Hamza Ahmed of Misali Public School Talagang secured 694 marks and
    got second position, while Atif Shareef of Misali Public School Talagang
    securing 682 marks got third position.

    arrested drug pushers, judicial deserters and also recovered illicit arms
    and separate cases were registered against the accused. Kallar Kahar police
    arrested judicial deserter Aftab Ahmed resident of Buchal Kalan, while
    Kallar Kahar police recovered 12 bore gun from Allah Ditta resident of Nattu
    Wala Kahar. Dhudial police arrested two judicial deserter Nadar Khan
    resident of village Sial and Abid Hussain resident of Lala Musa. City police
    Chakwal arrested judicial deserter Muhammad Ehsan resident of village
    Balkassar, while Sadar Police Chakwal arrested Muhammad Riaz resident of
    village Sargodha and recovered a bottle of liquor from him. Sadar Police
    Chakwal in two different operations recovered 30 bore pistols each from
    Khalid Mehmood resident of village Sadwal and Ejaz Hussain resident of
    village Dhoke Aajari.

    CHAKWAL, May 31: Chief Executive of Punjab Bar Council Hassan Raza Pasha
    has said that the lawyers community through out the Punjab observed complete
    strike on Thursday (1st June) to condemn the torture of DSP Layya on a
    senior Lawyer over there. Talking to the newsman on Wednesday Mr. Pasha
    further told that protest campaign would be launch against DSP and it would
    continue till the action would not taken against the said DSP.
