Eid Cup

Today 16 teams entered in tournament organised by PWCS, tournament started 10 am with lots of spectators, all the matches were thrilling and interesting with trouble free management but after the half way through interest starts fading up when most of the teams who lose the match leave ground which put extra burden on players and organisers, regardless of this all the match were smooth, we hope further details about score would be posted by PWCS as they have all the record

At the end Molana HajI Javaid Malik , who was main sponsor of this event distributed the trophies among the winners

soccer balls in Pakistan

In a pioneering initiative, the world's leading sporting goods companies and human rights groups agreed on a series of actions to eliminate child labor from the production of soccer balls in Pakistan, the source for more than 75% of the world's billion-dollar soccer ball market. The agreement marks the first time that multinational corporations and their local suppliers in any global industry have joined with human rights advocates to address the problem of child labor.

The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) and the U.S.-based Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) announced the creation of a project that includes the sporting goods industry in Pakistan, the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF and the Save the Children Fund (UK) to eliminate child labor in Pakistan's soccer ball industry. Pakistan is the source of approximately 75% of the world's annual sales of hand- stitched soccer balls, a market totaling close to $1 billion/year in retail sales. The partnership will oversee a program of independent monitoring to verify efforts to eliminate child labor by participating manufacturers within 18 months. It will also implement a social protection program that provides educational and other opportunities to children removed from the industry.

More than 50 sporting goods brands connected with soccer _ including virtually all the major global brands _ have pledged to purchase soccer balls produced in Pakistan only from local manufacturers who participate in the monitoring program. These global brands include all of the major international companies that sell soccer balls, such as adidas, Brine, Franklin, Lotto, Mitre, Nike, Puma, Reebok and Umbro, as well as many smaller brands.

CHAKWAL: 23 Jan: Political settlement was the only solution to the
Sui-issue and president of Pakistan Muslim League, Ch. Shujaat Hussain has
taken up the matter and some positive development was expected from this
move and no military operation was on the card and the military movement was
only to safeguard the important national assets. This was stated by senior
vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League and former Federal minister, Lt.
Gen. 짰 Abdul Majeed Malik while talking to the newsmen at his residence on
Sunday. Tehsil Councilor, Malik Azhar Iqbal was also present on this
occasion. Replying to another question, Mr. Majeed admitted that there was a
contact and dialogue underway with Pakistan Peoples’ Party but still the
elections would be held in time in 2007, however some minor adjustments
could be made by the and of 2006. He was confident that the protest campaign
against the present government would not be materialized as there was hell
of differences between ARD and MMA. Mr. Malik told that local bodies’
election would start from April and elections schedule and other amendments
in local bodies’ ordinance were expected to be announced on 25th January. He
told that his group would participate in local bodies’ election of District
Chakwal with the alliance of other like-minded groups and he was confident
that his group would seep the local bodies’ polls. Mr. Malik was vocal that
democratic institutions have been restored; therefore opposition should
behave and work for the straightening democratic institutions of the
country.

CHAKWAL: 23 Jan: Heavy downpour dampen the enthusiasm and fervor of
Eid-ul-Azha as the rain started after the Eid prayers and continued for next
40 hours, forcing people into their houses and no enthusiasm was seen
throughout the two days. The heavy rain had a very useful effect on the
wheat crops and agriculture experts were confident that due to this timely
rain, a bumper wheat crops is expected in barani areas. The sacrifice of
animals was very low due to the high rates of the animals which forced the
people to abstain from sacrifice.

PANZ NEW EXECUTIVE

Congratulations It is great you have come forward and taken the responsibility.

I am very concerned about the committee of three who have absolutely disppointed the whole community. Zeb Mohammad and Sabir Cheema are excellent people and they are very sincere with the community.

The real problem is Mateen Siddiqui who is responsiblke for the whole Saga people have lost faith in the Association because of him. He is responsible for so many
failures and collapse of previous Association  that in my eyes his crimes are unforgiveable.

It is surprising that inspite of terrible defeat in the previous elections and collapse of previous Association he is still there. He must resign now and let the community move forward.

Allah bless you all
 Aameen

COURAGE

쨀Each time a man stands up for an idea, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centuries of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the criticism of their colleagues, the rage of their society. Moral courage is a rarer product than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that give up most painfully to change.짼

Once Upon a Time

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Tsunami

Tsunami, Japanese word, meaning “harbor wave” and used as the scientific term for seismic sea wave generated by an undersea earthquake or possibly an undersea landslide or volcanic eruption. When the ocean floor is tilted or offset during an earthquake, a set of waves is created similar to the concentric waves generated by an object dropped into the water. Most tsunamis originate along the Ring of Fire, a zone of volcanoes and seismic activity, 32,500 km (24,000 mi) long, that encircles the Pacific Ocean. Since 1819, about 40 tsunamis have struck the Hawaiian Islands.
A tsunami can have wavelengths, or widths, of 100 to 200 km (60 to 120 mi), and may travel hundreds of kilometers across the deep ocean, reaching speeds of about 725 to 800 km/h (about 450 to 500 mph). Upon entering shallow coastal waters, the wave, which may have been only about half a meter (a foot or two) high out at sea, suddenly grows rapidly. When the wave reaches the shore, it may be 15 m (50 ft) high or more. Tsunamis have tremendous energy because of the great volume of water affected. They are capable of obliterating coastal settlements.
Tsunamis should not be confused with storm surges, which are domes of water that rise underneath hurricanes or cyclones and cause extensive coastal flooding when the storms reach land. Storm surges are particularly devastating if they occur at high tide. A cyclone and accompanying storm surge killed an estimated 500,000 people in Bangladesh in 1970.
