No one will be allowed to harm Pakistan

I have great love for Baloch people, says Musharraf

MURREE: President Pervez Musharraf has said he has great love for the people of Balochistan and wants to see it a developed province like other provinces of the country.

He was addressing a large public gathering organised by the Pakistan Muslim League at the Lawrence College, Ghoragali, here on Monday on the occasion of formal inauguration of Sui gas supply to Murree.

He said the government has started a number of mega projects for the betterment of the Baloch people. “We have started more development projects in Balochistan which are unprecedented in the country’s history, he added.

“Whoever wants to harm Pakistan nationally or internationally would have to fight with me first,” the president said. No-one would be allowed to harm Pakistan. He said projects like Coastal Highway, Gwadar port and Mirani dam are manifestation of the government’s commitment to the development of Balochistan. He said every district of the province would be given Rs 100 million for development purposes.

The present government has created many employment opportunities for the people of Balochistan. At present, almost 30,000 youths are serving in the Army, including Frontier Corps and Baloch Constabulary.

Musharraf said the people of Balochistan were demanding provision of Sui gas, which was their genuine demand. He said the present government has provided Sui gas to Kalat, Ziarat, Gwadar and Jaffarabad. Other areas of Balochistan will also be provided with natural gas, he added.

The president said only those elements want dissolution of assemblies who have lust of power, but the masses are well aware of their designs. Musharraf said this is the first time that the assemblies are going to complete their tenure according to the Constitution. He said democratic institutions in the country are strong and stable. Earlier, the president inaugurated the Sui gas project for Murree.

Some great words

sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away that they were meant to be there
they serve some sort of purpose,
teach you a lesson
or help figure out who you are
and who you want to become.

you never know who these people may be:
your neighbour, child, long lost friend, lover or even a complete
stranger...
who, when you lock your eyes with them,
you know @ that very moment that they will affect your life
in some profound way.

and sometimes things happen to you
and @  the same time they seem painfull and unfair,
but in reflection you realise
that without overcoming those obstacles
you would have never realised
your potential strength,will power,or heart.

everything happens for a reason.
nothing happens by chance
or by means of good or bad luck.
illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity,
all occur to test the limits of your soul.

without these small tests,
whether they be events,illnesses,or relationships,
life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere,
safe and comfortable,
but dull and utterly pointless.

the people you meet who affect your life
and the successes and downfalls you experience
create who you are,
and even the bad experiences can be learned from;
in fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.

if someone hurts you, betrays you,or breaks your heart,
forgive them,
for they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart.....

if someone loves you,
love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you,
but because they are teaching you to love
and opening your  heart and eyes to things
you would have never seen or felt without them.

make every day count.
appreciate every moment
and take from it everything that you possibly can,
for you may never be able to experience it again....

talk to people you have never talked to before,
and actually listen ,
let yourself fall in love,
break
free and set your sights high.....

hold your head up
because you have every right to.
tell yourself you are a gr8 individual and believe in yourself.......
for if you don't believe in yourself,
no one else will beleive in you either.
you can make of your life anything you wish.

create your own life
and then go out and live it!!
"live each day as if it were your last.....
tomorrow is not promised"

Scientific View for Zam Zam Water

Scientific View for Zam Zam Water

Research by Tariq Hussain, Riyadh.
Come the Haj season, and I am reminded of the wonders of Zum Zum water. Let me go back to how it all started. In 1971, a doctor wrote to the European Press, a letter saying that Zum Zum water was not fit for drinking purposes. I mmediately thought that this was just a form of prejudice against the Muslims and that since his statement was based on the assumption that since the Ka'aba was a shallow place (below sea level) and located in the center of the city of Makkah, the wastewater of the city collecting through the drains fell into well holding the water.

Fortunately, the news came to King Faisal's ears who got extremely angry and decided to disprove the doctor's provocative statement. He immediately ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources to investigate and send samples of Zum Zum water to European laboratories for testing the potability of the water. The ministry then instructed the Jeddah Power and Desalination Plants to carry out this task. It was here that I was employed as a desalting engineer (chemical engineer to produce drinking water from seawater). I was chosen to carry out this assignment. At this stage, I Remember that I had no idea what the well holding the water looked like. I went to Makkah and reported to the authorities at the Ka'aba explaining my purpose of visit. They deputed a man to give me what ever help was required. When we reached the well, it was hard for me to believe that a pool of water, more like a small pond, about 18 by 14 feet, or 6 x 4.5 meters was the well that supplied
millions of gallons of water every year to Hajjis and millions of gallons to visitors since it came into existence at The time of Hazrat Ibrahim A.S., many, many centuries ago.

I started my investigations and took the dimensions of the well. I asked the man to show me the depth of the well. First he took a shower and descended into the water. Then he straightened his body. I saw that the water level came up to just above his shoulders. His height was around five feet, eight inches. He then started moving from one corner to the other in the well (standing all the while since he was not allowed to dip his head into the water) in search of any inlet or pipeline inside the well to see from where the water came in. However, the man reported that he could not find any inlet or pipeline inside the well. I thought of another idea. The water could be withdrawn rapidly with the help of a big transfer pump which was installed at the well for the Zum Zum water storage tanks. In this way, the water level would drop enabling us to locate the point of entry of the water. Surprisingly, nothing was observed during the pumping period, but I knew that this was the
only method by which you could find the entrance of the water to the well. So I decided to repeat the process. But this time I instructed the man to stand still at one place and carefully observe any unusual thing happening inside the well. After a while, he suddenly raised his hands and shouted, "Alhamdollillah! I have found it. The sand is dancing beneath my feet as the water oozes out of the bed of the well." Then he moved around the well during the pumping period and noticed the same phenomenon everywhere in the well. Actually the flow of water into the well through the bed was equal at every point, thus keeping the level of the water steady. After I finished my observations I took the samples of the water for European laboratories to test.

Before I left the Ka'aba, I asked the authorities about the other wells around Makkah. I was told that these wells were mostly dry.
When I reached my office in Jeddah I reported my findings to my boss who listened with great interest but made a very irrational comment that the Zum Zum well could be internally connected to the Red Sea. How was it possible when Makkah is about 75 kilometers away from the sea and the wells located before the city usually remains dry? The results of the water samples tested by the European laboratories and the one we analyzed in our own laboratory were found to be almost identical. The difference between Zum Zum water and other water (city water) was in the quantity of calcium and magnesium salts. The content of these was slightly higher in Zum Zum water. This may be why this water refreshes tired Hajis, but more significantly, the water contains fluorides that have an effective germicidal action. Moreover, the remarks of the European laboratories showed that the water was fit for drinking. Hence the statement made by the doctor was proved false.

?When this was reported to King Faisal he was extremely pleased and ordered the contradiction of the report in the European Press. In a way, it was a blessing that this study was undertaken to show the chemical composition of the water. In fact, the more you explore, the more wonders surface and you find yourself believing implicitly in the miracles of this water that God bestowed as a gift on the faithful coming from far and wide to the desert land for
pilgrimage. Let me sum up some of the features of Zum Zum water.

1. This well has never dried up. On the contrary it has always fulfilled the demand for water.
2. It has always maintained the same salt composition and taste ever since it came into existence. Its potability has always been universally recognized as pilgrims from all over the world visit Ka'aba every year for Haj and Umrah, but have never complained about it. Instead, they have always enjoyed the water that refreshes them.
3. Water tastes different at different places. Zum Zum water's appeal has always been universal.
4. This water has never been chemically treated or chlorinated, as is the case with water pumped into the cities. Biological growth and vegetation usually takes place in most wells. This makes the water unpalatable owing to the growth of algae causing taste and odor problems. But in the case of the Zum Zum water well, there wasn't any sign of biological growth.

Centuries ago, Bibi Hajra A.S. searched desperately for water in the hills of Safa and Marwa to give to her newly born son Hazrat Ismail A.S. As she ran from one place to another in search of water, her child rubbed his feet against the sand. A pool of water surfaced, and by the grace of Allah, shaped itself into a well which came to be called Zum Zum water.

LAYLAT – UL – QADR

One of the most meritorious aspects of the month of Ramadan is that it Contains Laylatulqadr, the most blessed night of the year. It is the night which Allah Almighty chose to reveal the Holy Qur'an. The Holy Qur'an has mentioned that this night is better than one thousand months. It means that the worship performed in this night brings more reward than the worship performed in one thousand months. The authentic Traditions of the Holy Prophet (piece be upon him) mention that, in this night, Allah Almighty directs His special mercy towards the people of the earth, accepts the supplications made by His slaves and forgives a large number of people who repent and pray.

Laylatulqadr falls on one of the last five odd nights of Ramadan i.e. 21st, 23rd 25th, 27th and 29th. According to authentic sources. Laylatulqadr falls in any one of these nights alternately. The purpose of this alternation is that one should spend all the five nights in worship and prayers, so that he may find Laylatulqadr with certainty.

No special form of worship is prescribed for Laylatulqadr The night should be spent by offering as much prayers as one can offer, in recitation of the Holy Qur'an, in Dhikr and Tasbeeh, in supplications and in making Sadaqah (charity).

It is not advisable in this night to hold ceremonies or meetings or delivering long lectures or illuminating the mosques. This is a night meant for developing a special connection with one's Creator, for offering acts of worship in solitude and seclusion, for having constant and exclusive contact with his Lord who is the Lord of the universe, for minimizing the diversity of thoughts and actions and for devoting oneself to Allah Almighty with his heart and soul.

This purpose can seldom be achieved in congregations and assemblies. That is why the Holy Prophet (piece be upon him) never tended to celebrate this night by lectures, meetings, illumination or even by offering prayers in jama'ah. Instead, he used to perform acts of worship individually, and in solitude.

HUMBLE REQUEST

: To ALL my MUSLIM Brothers and Sisters I humbly request a sincere DUAH for me and my Family for Forgiveness, Mercy, Ilm, Rizq and Hidaaya, Min Fadlik. May ALLAH ALMIGHTY accept Insha-ALLAH.

Surah Fatiha

Surah Fatiha

All praise is due to Allah, the Cherisher of the worlds,

Most Beneficent, Most Merciful, Master of the day of judgement.
Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we seek help.
Guide us along the right path, the path of those on whom Thou has bestowed Thy grace, Not the path of those who became the object of Thine wrath
nor (of those) who went astray.......

Aameen

.

Benefit: Surah Al Hamdo Sharief should be recited with the intention of

duaa.

A person who is not Paak (In need of Ghusl) may also read this with the

intention of Duaa.

Virtue

: Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W) has said in a hadith that Surah Fatiha is
the cure for every illness (Daarimi). The reward of this surah is equivalent
to the reward of two thirds of the Quraan. The Mashaaikh (Scholars) have
written that if one recites Surah Fatiha with Imaan and
conviction, it will be a cure for all ailments; whether the ailments are
of a religious nature or worldly nature, external or internal. It is
narrated that in the verse "Iyya kana budu wa iyya kanastaeen"
(Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we seek help) are contained all
religious and worldly objectives.

Hence it is in this aayat that is the underlying secret of cure and the

fulfillment of ones objectives.

Some interesting statistics

Number of Rakaats of Salaat in a day 48
Number of times you recite Surah Fatiha 48
Number of praises (ruku and sajda) 432
Number of Durood's 34
Number of Allah hu Akbar's (Minimum) 288 (Varies with the Mazhabs
)

How fortunate is that person who performs his 5 times daily Salaat.

We make duaa that Allah grants us all this opportunity to gain the maximum
reward for the Hereafter.

Hadith - Insaan

(Man and Women) will get tired of asking for forgiveness
(For sins committed), but Allah will never get tired of forgiving His
Ummat.
One of the major sins is that person who has lost hope in the Mercy
of Allah. Just by reciting Surah Fatiha once with conviction and then
begging for forgiveness for our sins, Allah Most Merciful will forgive us.

We make duaa that Allah grant us all that opportunity that at least once a

day, we recite Surah Fatiha with conviction and beg of Allah's forgiveness
and Mercy which is never ending.

Please pass on to family and friends as this is so simple and won't even

take 5 minutes of our time, which in actual fact belongs to Allah

(Health, Wealth and Time).

Speed admits Hair's career could be over

Malcolm Speed: 'I hope we can find a way for him to continue but I'm not sure that that will happen' 짤 Getty Images
Malcolm Speed, the ICC chief executive, believes that Darrell Hair's Test career could be over after the controversy of the past week.

Hair offered to quit top-level cricket in return for $500,000 after the ball-tampering furore which lead to Pakistan forfeiting their final Test against England. Throughout the week Speed has been quick to establish that the ICC were not ending Hair's career or cutting him adrift from the game. However, he has admitted he doesn't know whether Hair could shake off this latest controversy.

"There have been other issues in his umpiring career where people have said 'this is the end for Darrell Hair' - after he called Muttiah Muralitharan for throwing in 1996, and he then wrote a book, and people said 'this is the end for Darrell Hair'," Speed told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme.

"Darrell survived that and has become a better umpire, he is one of the world's best umpires, so I hope we can find a way for him to continue but I'm not sure that that will happen.

"Why? Because there's a lot of speculation...that Darrell's career is finished, that he's compromised. That's not my wish, I hope we can find a way for him to continue. I would like Darrell Hair to continue umpiring in cricket matches at the top level."

Hair, who made a brief statement following the news of his offer on Friday, has spoken to Sydney's Sunday Telegraph about his thinking behind the email. "It wasn't a spur of the moment thing. I had dialogue with them. That was understood. I didn't do it off the cuff. [Umpires' manager] Doug Cowie even said in his email reply to my offer that the proposal had merit." Then asked whether he would ever umpire again, Hair said: "Let's address one thing at a time."

While it has been Hair's future making the headlines, there is now an increasing focus on Cowie, and his initial response to the emails when he said: "Your offer may have merit and is acknowledged and under discussions with the ICC management. Your timeframes seemed impractical at first glance even if agreement were achieved on the suggestion. Will discuss this further tomorrow."

Speed admitted that Cowie now regretted the content of his reply to Hair and the suggestion that ICC would consider it. "That was Doug Cowie's response and I think if he could play it again he would play it differently. When it came to me I saw that not for one second could we contemplate it. At no time did I ever consider paying Darrell any amount."

Speed said it was up to the ICC adjudicator to decide whether Hair's actions affected the charges against Inzamam-ul-Haq of ball-tampering and bringing the game into disrepute, brought up following the team's sit-in at The Oval.

Inzamam refused to bring his team out after the tea interval after Hair and his colleague Billy Doctrove's decision to penalise them five runs for ball-tampering.

Speed said: "The ball-tampering issue and the subsequent charge are very simple cricketing issues about what happened on the field. Whether it impacts on Darrell Hair's credit I don't know, that's a matter for Pakistan's lawyers whether to raise that, and then for the adjudicator to decide whether he takes that into account."

Shahrayar Khan, the PCB chairman, has insisted that Hair should not umpire another match involving Pakistan, but Speed refused to go that far. "It was said he could never umpire Sri Lanka again after 1996 but he has. Time will tell if water needs to flow under the bridge. I don't know what his future is but I hope we can find a way for him to continue."

Speed confirmed the ball-tampering charge had been made by both Hair and Doctrove, and that he was not aware the England players had made any complaint.

Signs of Qiyamat

Signs of Qiyamat

STOP

Just remember-Allah is watching you.

If we could get arrested for being a Muslim, would the police have enough evidence to bring us in?

Why is it so hard to tell the truth but yet so easy to tell a lie?
Why are we so sleepy in mosque but right when the prayer is over, we suddenly wake up?
Why is it so hard to talk about Allah but yet so easy to talk about nasty stuff?
Why is it so boring to look at an Islamic Article but yet so easy to look at a nasty one?
Why is it so easy to delete a Godly e-mail but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?
Why are the mosque's getting smaller, but yet the dance, clubs are getting larger?
Do you give up? Think about it ..

Are you going to forward this, or delete it?

Just remember-Allah is watching you.

As we look at this article we realise how true the Messenger (P.B.U.H) was these signs were prophesized 1400 years ago!!!

Take a look.... Now this is scary!!!!

* Camels will no longer be used as a means of transport;

God Bless Muslims

In the name of Allah the most Gracious most Merciful

Friday-the day of Jum’a

Asalaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatu.

Allah says in the Holy Quraan, in Surah Jum’a, verse 9 to 10:

"Oh you who believe!" "When the call is proclaimed for prayer on Friday, come to remembrance of Allah and leave off business and trading." "That is best for you, if you but knew." "Then when the prayer is ended you may disperse through the land, and seek the bounty of Allah and remember Allah quite frequently that you may prosper."

The Angels know Friday by the name "Jum’a." For Muslims Friday is the noblest of days. Adam (AS) was born on a Friday.

  1. He was admitted into Jannat on a Friday.

  1. He was banished to the earth on a Friday.

  1. His repentance was accepted on a Friday.

  1. He passed away on a Friday.

  1. The day of Qiyaamat will be on a Friday.

  1. Hell’s fire does not burn so fiercely on a Friday.

  1. Allah-Ta-Allah grants pardon to six hundred thousand people from Hell on a Friday.

  1. One who dies on a Friday is blessed with rewards equal to that of 100 martyrs and he is protected from the punishment of the grave.

People, make Ibaadat in abundance everyday, especially on a Friday.

Allah made Makkah superior to any other city.

Ramadaan superior to any other month.

Lailatul-Qadr superior to any other night and Friday superior to any other day.

It is reported that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:"If you protect your Friday, you have indeed protected all your days."

Jazakallah

Asalaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatu.

Psychologist reveals the luck factor

Technology & Science

Professor Richard Wiseman brings a touch of humor to the science of luck

Psychologist reveals the luck factor

Saturday July 1, 2006

By Ben Fahy

Ironically enough, Professor Richard Wiseman, one of Britain's pre-eminent psychologists, has become something of a global good luck charm.

Not in a superstitious sense: rabbits' feet, broken mirrors and black cats mean nothing to this self-confessed sceptic. But in a scientific sense: his pioneering research into luck proved that it isn't just the Fates controlling good or bad fortune. Thoughts and behavior play a far more pivotal role.

Before starting his research, Professor Wiseman thought the number of people who described themselves as either lucky or unlucky was too large to be a random phenomenon, so he attempted to "set the record straight" and placed advertisements in newspapers around Britain seeking consistently lucky and unlucky participants to join in his experiments and be interviewed about key moments in their lives.

"For the most part, these people were making their own luck by the way they were behaving," he says. "There was a very good reason why some people got all the lucky breaks."

Obviously, not everything in life can be controlled (he steers clear of gambling, simply because chance affects all equally), but Professor Wiseman says, more often than not, luck - either good or bad - is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

He identified four simple principles that those leading charmed lives exhibited more regularly - usually without realizing it - than their unfortunate associates: they increased their chance encounters by having networks of friends; they went with their initial instincts; they expected to be lucky; and they could see positives coming from negatives.

As the introduction to Professor Wiseman's best selling book The Luck Factor says: "In short, this book presents that most elusive of holy grails - a scientifically proven way to understand, control, and increase your luck."

Look in the spiritual health section of your local bookstore, however, and you'll likely see hundreds of books claiming to change your life in four easy steps. On first inspection, Professor Wiseman's book appears to be one of them.

But, unlike much of the information being peddled by self-help charlatans, the major difference is that his branch of "positive psychology" can be backed up with scientific proof.

"I'm trying to get science into these areas," he says. "The authors say their advice works, but we don't know if any of it works. For all we know they could be selling snake oil. But psychologists don't tend to research the kinds of things people are actually interested in, and I think The Luck Factor bridged that gap between popular psychology and psychology."

It also connected him with the public by "getting into people's lives". He says this personal contact (he still gets plenty of thank-you emails) is a rare, but rewarding, phenomenon for scientists because, aside from a few notable exceptions, he admits they are often a relatively faceless bunch.

Some may have the potential to change the world, but ask anyone to name a Nobel prize winner from the last few years and watch their eyes glaze over. And this is the problem science communicators face: specialized research, revolutionary or not, isn't as sexy, relevant or interesting as the personal lives of celebrities, which means captivating the huddled masses with the pursuits of academia is a difficult task.

For Professor Wiseman, however, science can appeal to almost everyone, and the scientific process can be applied to almost everything.

As a result of his studies into the paranormal, of which he found no evidence ("The people who believe want proof, but when you conduct an experiment and there is no proof to be found, they criticize the science"), he was dubbed the thinking man's Ghostbusters. But consider his other areas of research, and Professor Wiseman could also be adequately described, as the simple-man's scientist. Unlike many of his academic peers, he is forced to walk among - and study the behavior of - his disciples.

"They are things of interest, like lying, luck, humor and the paranormal, and they make sense to people in a way that psychology doesn't," he says.

Having started out as a professional magician before venturing into the field of psychology (he eventually figured out the audience reactions were more interesting than the magic itself), Professor Wiseman has been able to combine the seemingly disparate realms of "showmanship and science" by "making experiments as dramatic and interactive as possible".

And as part of the New Zealand International Science Festival, which starts today Professor Wiseman will do just that, conducting a mass participation experiment that aims to show the relationship between the month of birth and luck. According to Professor Wiseman, more of those who consider themselves lucky are born in summer than in winter, which he says is related to the temperature around the time of birth.

But how can a concept like luck even be quantified when it seems to depend so much on individual perception?

"People imagine you couldn't do science in these areas. 'Science? It's usually just test tubes and lasers isn't it? You can't test that can you?'," he says.

"But science is just a very interesting way of looking at the world. It's like appreciating a beautiful piece of art."

Because of its subjective nature, he says the field of social psychology is slightly unpredictable. But, by taking an idea (whether it be studying horn honking at green traffic lights to investigate prejudice, or attempting to find the world's funniest joke) and testing it scientifically, the results can be used to find patterns in even the broadest of concepts.

GET LUCKY

Professor Richard Wiseman's keys to good fortune:

* Have a network of friends

* Go with your initial instincts

* Expect to be lucky

* See positives that can come from negatives.

A Great Message to Understand "FRIENDS"

A Great Message To Understand Friends

One day, when I was a fresh man in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.

His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books.

I thought to myself, Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?

He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives. He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!"

There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude

.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.

I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.

He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class.

I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great.

He was one of those guys that really found them during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.

He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "! Thanks,"

He said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.

I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile

.

Not until that moment did I realize its depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life.

For better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way.

Look for God in others. You now have two choices, you can:

  1. Pass this on to your friends or
  2. Delete it and act like it didn't touch your heart.

As you can see, I took choice number 1. "Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift.

Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND. If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

3-Minute Management Course

Lesson One:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: "Sure, why not."  So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.

All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Two:

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed

the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?"

replied the bull.

They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him

enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly

spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson:

Bullsh*t might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson Three:

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground

into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen

bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually

thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the

bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and

ate him.

Management Lesson:

(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend.

(3) And when you're in deep sh*t, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

Where is High Commission

Pakistanis in New Zealand were told that Pakistan High Commission would start its operations from August 14, 2006. The newly appointed High Commissioner of Pakistan Mr Munawwar Bhatti announced this at a meeting with Pakistani community members in Auckland in June. Two websites representing Pak community in New Zealand - Pakistan Association of New Zealand and Sohni Dharti - highlighted this announcement.
Come August 14. Pakistanis celebrated 59th independence anniversary. Mr Bhatti while addressing at the independence day function in South Auckland, said that the High Commission has started operations in Khandallah, Wellington. But I wonder how many people in community know the contact details of the High Commission of Islamic Republic Pakistan in New Zealand. There is no official or unofficial announcement about this major development. People want to know hours for public dealing at the HC, details for issuance of visas, passports and National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistani, fees for different services, where to send applications, what is the physical address, phone numbers for public, bank details for depositing fees and various other details of public interest.
Both the websites are blank on this issue. Are we still doing things the Pakistani way. Quick to announce, slow to act. ------------Taj Muhammad Shaikh

Alliot-Marie told a French television she hoped a large number of European and Muslim countries would take part in the beefed-up UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), but said the United Nations still needed to define the operation.

"We already have the command (of UNIFIL) and we are ready to continue to do this until next February including for the enlarged UNIFIL," she added.
