Stem cell

Thought of Day

Stem cell, which has potential to cure all sort of disease, These include damage to the brain, spinal cord, skeletal muscles, and the heart. Treatments that have been proposed follow either physical trauma (e.g. spinal cord injuries), degenerative conditions (e.g.

Parkinson's disease), or even genetic diseases (in combination with gene therapy). Now this sort of treatment would be available in NZ , but there is ethical and religious question? Sohni Dharti was told That these cells can only be produces by pigs , would it be right to use pig cells for wellbeing of our self and generations to come

Mufti Ishak Ibrahim Koshiya

Mufti Ishak Ibrahim Koshiya from the West Auckland Islamic Centre in Ranui was taken from the mosque by police and immigration officers on September 6, arrested as an overstayer and served with a removal order.

He was kept in custody overnight and appeared in the Waitakere District Court the following day when he was bailed until his next hearing.

Koshiya, 38, who had been in New Zealand on a work permit for almost five years, agreed to leave the country voluntarily with his wife and three children, two of whom were born in New Zealand. He returned to India on September 10.

His lawyer, Marcus Beveridge, said Koshiya's work visa had expired and his application for permanent residency was declined because he failed the International English Language Testing System exam.

Ethnic Affairs Minister Chris Carter, his local MP, made submissions on Koshiya's behalf to Associate Immigration Minister Clayton Cosgrove, saying he had met the preacher at several events.

Beveridge said Koshiya was a greatly respected and highly qualified mufti.

"Apparently he was the highest, most learned Islamic scholar New Zealand's ever seen.

"He was fluent in six languages, including Arabic and Hindi, but English was always a bit of a struggle. It's all a bit ironic because he taught all the local West Auckland Christian scholars about the Koran, he spoke for 15 minutes a day in the mosque to English-only speaking church men."

Beveridge said there had been "negative commentary" from the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (Fianz), the ruling council of Muslim organisations. "We have no question in our minds that they, on one hand, wrote flattering letters and on the other hand lobbied the associate minister personally, saying the guy's an extremist ... and a fanatic."

Beveridge said it was accepted that Koshiya "adopted the Koran in a pretty literal sort of way" but he had never advocated extremism or terrorism.

"He's not an extremist at all, he's a moderate and loving and hugely respected and charismatic mufti."

Beveridge said he had been told privately by a higher-ranking cabinet minister that the allegations of extremism were the most important reason why Cosgrove refused to allow Koshiya to stay.

"I don't respond to pressure, I respond to evidence ... Lawyers speculating on what has happened, that's their privilege, but they don't have the facts before them, and it's just speculation."

The president of Fianz, Javed Khan, said there were "all sorts of rumours" but he denied the organisation lobbied against Koshiya.

"There is no evidence of him (Koshiya) being involved in any radical activity, so why would we lobby against him?"

Khan said he was asked to make representations on Koshiya's behalf and, despite not wanting to get involved in "local politics", wrote a letter of support to Cosgrove.

A worshipper at the Ranui mosque, Asheem Abdul, said Koshiya was a huge loss. Abdul said while people accused Koshiya of radical teachings, the most controversial statement he could think of was Koshiya encouraging people to avoid McDonald's because the meat was not halal.

Visitors Abuse Rule at Prophet Mosque

Visitors Abuse 24/7 Rule at Prophet’s Mosque

MADINAH, 21 October 2007 — Following instructions of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to open the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the mosque has become filled with people catching up on sleep.

While watching worshippers spreading all over the mosque to take a nap after the prayers, Saeed Al-Raddadi, a resident of Madinah, told Arab News that worshippers are abusing the new opening hours.

“It was great news for all when King Abdullah announced the opening of the Prophet’s Mosque 24 hours a day in order to allow worshippers more time to pray and read the Qur’an. We are seeing something else now. We are noticing that people spend more time sleeping than worshipping,” he said.

Al-Raddadi said that he has notified officials at the holy mosque about the problem. “I do not think it is a good idea to let them sleep because the mosque is only for worshipping,” he said.

Mahmoud Al-Masry, an Umrah pilgrim from Egypt, said the new hours is a brilliant opportunity for worshippers to rest after prayers.

“I really praise King Abdullah for issuing an order to open the mosque for worshippers round the clock. It gives us an opportunity to take some time off to rest in between prayers and we can avoid the trouble of going to our hotels after each prayer,” he said.

Nasir Al-Dukhaily, a receptionist at a hotel close to the Prophet’s Mosque, said that many worshippers avoid renting rooms since the new opening hours have been announced.

“Some worshippers nowadays do not look for rooms and spend all their time in the mosque since they can find a corner in the mosque to sleep,” he said.

Al-Masry added that the new hours have allowed pilgrims on limited budgets to save cash. “Some worshippers do not have the ability to pay for hotel rooms and so they see this as an opportunity,” he said.

Meanwhile, a supervisor at the holy mosque, who asked not to have his name published, said guards have not been instructed to stop people from sleeping inside the mosque.

Moon Symbol of disunity amoung Muslims?

Let Crescent Moon Spread the Light of Unity

The crescent moon is a symbol of unity for Muslims. Unfortunately it has also become a reason for disunity and fighting among Muslims. We saw at the beginning of Ramadan that many Muslims were not fasting as a result of differences in sighting the crescent moon. The same thing happened on Eid day when many people were still fasting. Unfortunately this heart-breaking situation has not yet shaken the minds of those who work for Islamic unity into finding an agreeable solution. Actually this is not a complicated matter and does not cause any political or economic burden. On the other hand, a solution to this would make Muslims all over the world happy. The observance of fasting in Ramadan and the celebration of Eid on the same day would certainly unite Muslims.

The crescent moon is a symbol of Islam just as the cross is for Christians and the Star of David for Jews. The crescent should have been used to unite Muslims in determining the beginning and end of fasting in Ramadan, one of the important pillars of Islam. We should leave no stone unturned in uniting Muslims. It is quite sad that Muslims in a single country or neighboring countries observe the beginning and end of Ramadan on different dates. In one country, they begin fasting after sighting the moon while in another country, which is just 200 kilometers away, it is not observed, citing the reason that the crescent was not visible. I cannot understand the logic of this.

Astronomers in countries that celebrated Eid Al-Fitr last Friday were saying that it was impossible to sight the crescent on Thursday evening as it disappeared before sunset. There is no doubt that either the astronomers or those who witnessed the crescent were wrong. This has created confusion in the Muslim masses and has necessitated the setting out of clear rules and regulations for sighting the moon.

In recent years we have seen Shariah scholars and economists meeting to sort out their differences on issues such as banking, insurance, zakah, etc. This resulted in the formation of Shariah committees in banks and companies. Western institutions in many countries have started following this example in order to win the business of their Muslim clients.

It is high time Muslim scholars and astronomers reached a similar agreement on the matter of Ramadan and Shawwal crescent sighting. The door of ijtihad - making independent opinions on the basis of Qur’an and Sunnah - is still open and nobody should be forced to accept a particular view without thinking about other possibilities.

The verses in the Qur’anic chapters Al-Rahman, Al-Isra and Younus support the process of calculation in matters related to the sun and moon and this indicates the need for taking that point into consideration, rather than relying on sighting the moon with the naked eye.

This is no longer an issue that concerns only the people in a city or country but rather one that concerns the whole Ummah. There are hundreds of thousands of pilgrims who stay in Makkah and Madinah during the last days of Ramadan. When they return to their home countries a day before the Eid or on the day of Eid, they still find many people fasting. This situation has created a lot of confusion. Apart from discussing the issue with a Fiqhi perspective, we should also ponder its family, social and psychological dimensions.

How can a Muslim celebrate the Eid with his family and friends in such situations? I am sure that a solution for this problem can be found through careful and serious study and thought. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave the utmost importance to education. He asked the prisoners taken during the Battle of Badr to teach 10 Muslims how to read and write in order to regain their freedom.

At present Muslims depend on calculations in order to know the timings for compulsory prayers and the beginning and end of fasting during the month of Ramadan. If this is the case what is the problem in following calculations to decide the beginning and end of Ramadan? What is wrong with making use of astronomy to protect the interest of a large number of people? We should not forget the fact that Muslims were once pioneers in astronomy and that many stars and galaxies have Arabic names.

I hope that the Muslim World League or the Organization of the Islamic Conference or the Islamic Fiqh Academy will take up this matter as an important issue in order to unite Muslims. A day will come when Muslims all over the world observe Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr as well Eid Al-Adha on the same day. An Islamic scholar proposed recently that Makkah should be considered as a reference by Muslims all over the world for determining the beginning and end of Ramadan. This is an excellent idea and I wish that those who support Muslim unity would accept it so that the crescent moon would remain a symbol of unity.

Quater final Ramadan under15 Speech Competition on apna990am,2007

Miss Bhuto Return

An immediate responded of spoke man of PPP to BBC shows the desperation and frustration by blaming Muslim League for blasts , which shows the mentally of PPP. She was well aware of Pakistan's security situation , she knew circumstances and knew consequences

Muslim league don't believe violence in politics, chief Justice case is living proof of it

PPP should not forget it own past which is obscure by its own Jahadi organization name Al Zulfakar

We Pakistan Muslim league New Zealand strongly condemn this attack and killing of innocent peoples

If PPP wants to play game of naming and blaming then its very easy to blame PPP for these blasts , for sake of arguments we can blame Miss Bhuto as she knew exact time of blast that’s why she went in to her bullet proof container just a minutes before blasts happened

Later in press conference , she admitted that she was warned of 4 deferent suicide, but she still insisted to go through this, to show that she is brave leader, I think it was height of stupidity then bravery

Cold Water

Please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.
A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send the link to a friend. It could save a life. So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

Its never late....Forward soon...

NEW DICTATORS OF PAKISTAN
