ISLAMIC NEWS

FATWA

JEDDAH,  An imam at a local mosque lost his cool when, once again, some idiot in the congregation forgot to (or didn’t care to) switch off his mobile phone, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. Just as the man began the taraweeh prayer (the nightly recitation of the Qur’an done during Ramadan) the sound of cheesy Arabic pop music began playing from the audience. The imam turned to the crowd and issued his own little “fatwa”: the next time somebody allows their phone to go off in the congregation, the imam threatened to defenestrate the guilty person right out of the mosque. After a bout of shouting at the audience, the imam regained his composure, turned around, and continued with the taraweeh

Today's budget will make it harder for families in Te Atatu to make ends meet.

Today National delivered a Budget that will have more New Zealanders heading for airport departure lounges as they look for opportunities and a brighter future offshore.

Today, National cut growth forecasts, cut 16,000 jobs from the forecasts and told us our foreign liabilities will soar over $200 billion for the first time ever.

The Budget shows we get poorer every year because the value of exports don’t cover imports and interest.

Zero budgets aren’t a sign of success; they’re what you get when you fail.

They are even pick pocketing paper runners!

Fewer teachers, fewer opportunities for our children, fewer opportunities for our students and fewer opportunties to work and earn in New Zealand.

It's about priorities and National has decided you're not one.

No Growth

This truly is a zero Budget. It has zero growth and zero aspiration for New Zealanders. It offers zero hope that it will grow our economy now or in the years ahead.

It fails to make the tough choices.

National keeps promising growth without doing anything to encourage it. Last year, they promised 4% growth. Today they’ve cut it to 2.6%.

Visit Labour's Budget 2012 website for more information.

This is their creation. They can't keep blaming everyone else forever.

John Key's record

Labour has put together a video outlining John Key's record managing  New Zealand's economy.

Labour will support our exporters and help Kiwis get the education and skills they need to seize the job opportunities of a 21st century economy. We will invest in science and innovation to create more high-wage businesses and make it easier for Kiwis to save for their retirement.

Labour will provide the strong economic leadership needed to give hard-working Kiwis the future they deserve and a reason to stay.

National promised a brighter future. They keep saying the good times are just around the corner. But they never arrive.

Kind regards
