Chand Raat Eid Festival is an open festival-style, entry-free, carnival where variety of stalls, children rides and entertainment are arranged.

The aim of celebrating the Chand Raat Eid Festival is to promote traditional Eid celebrations in multicultural NZ among the younger generation; especially those born and raised in NZ.

The festival is an opportunity for families to get together, do Eid shopping and eat delicious foods from a variety of stalls. The community groups and individuals place variety of stalls such as clothes, jewellery, henna, bangles, shoes, food, toys, handicraft and many other traditional items. It also provides the opportunity for many NZer unaware of such festivities to get together and enjoy the various different cultural exhibitions. There are children amusements and rides and multicultural performances on stage.

  4. A email from Shakil Akhtar
    Dear Sir
Chand Raat is a great idea and every one wants to be there. I forwarded your e-mail to my daughter.I would like you to see her response who has two small children and a kiwi husband:

What does it mean by women and children only?! How are they going to interact with non moslems kiwis by banning men! Sounded really good until this last term (women and children only)!

  6. Well done PANZ . Done it Again

We are pleased  to announce that Last night’s “Chand Ratt” was a huge success
of PANZ. Approximately 200 hundred ladies  from different ethnic groups were
gathered to attend that remarkable and colour full event. The programme
started after the official opening from President of PANZ’s wife Mrs. Robina
Jamshad-ul-Hassan . Thare were more than 8 stalls.  On iftar ladies enjoyed
our proud Paki traditional delicious Dahi barra Chatt, Chana Chatt, Gulab
Jamun Samousas, Haleem, tea and soft drinks. Many  Ladies attending the
function bought Pakistani outfits on surprisingly cheap costs. Henna stall
were fully booked, where 6 talented henna patron makers were performing their
talent.  The henna stall queue‘s were very long. Our apologies to many of
those who came late and demanded to organise  this programme again next day.
But we  promise inshAllah we will meet them next time only if we have generous
supporters like we have this year, which is obviously “PANZ”
Thanks again PANZ for being the first to provide their own platform for ladies
and kidds Chand Ratt in the history of PANZ and also for helping us to
organise this event for the ladies and children in our community. We should be
Hoping good traditions stay alive and are always carried on by others as
    well.
    Special thanks to our volunteers
Mrs. Afshan Majid and Mrs. Neelam Rahman

    Regards
    Atiya Syed
