Imams fail in their desired role: Naif
Imams fail in their desired role: Naif
MAKKAH: Imams of Saudi mosques have failed in guiding young Saudis away from extremist ideologies that pose a serious threat to the security and stability of the country, according to Interior Minister Prince Naif.
“The more than 15,000 mosques in the country constitute the best forums for guidance, but the imams have failed miserably in discharging their duties,” Prince Naif said after opening a seminar on Human Rights in Higher Education and Intellectual Security at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah on Wednesday night.
“Frankly speaking, I would like to say that the imams of mosques, with the exception of the two holy mosques, have not played their desired role (in the fight against extremism),” Prince Naif said.
“The introduction of topics related to human rights in the education or any other area of life does not mean that our society is ignorant or deficient in human values as some quarters have been portraying,” Prince Naif told an audience that included Minister of Higher Education Khaled Al-Anqari and Rector of Umm Al-Qura University Adanan Wazzan.
The prince stressed the significant role universities had to play in keeping the young Saudis away from the dangers of destructive ideologies. “Since universities are centers of research, it is their duty to study ways to root out ideas that distort religion and defame the nation,” he said.
The interior minister urged intellectuals in Saudi universities to shoulder their responsibility in keeping society free of extremist ideologies. “Intellectual security is by no means less important than public security,” he said.
He pointed out that the security of a country was closely related with scientific achievements. “Universities should be capable of contributing to the service of the country and it is in line with the teaching of Islam which urges its followers to benefit from fruits of learning,” he said.
Prince Naif said by following the true path of Islam the Muslims would be able to achieve security and stability everywhere. He said the late King Abdul Aziz, founder of the Kingdom, had striven to introduce modern sciences into the country and to convince the people of their importance.
“After the unification of the country, King Abdul Aziz’s concerns were about the people’s education and their security, and his sons followed the footsteps of their great father in this respect,” he said.
While speaking with the faculty members of the university, the prince expressed his hope that no harm would come to the country, which was always defended well. The interior minister commended the achievements of the soldiers and other security organs in the past in foiling the destructive designs of terrorists.
“We have proved to the world that the Saudi security forces are capable of confronting the challenges of the deviant ideology though the country was the main target of extremist plots,” Prince Naif said.
While commending the strong cooperation between citizens and the security forces, the prince stressed the role of the citizens as the first line of the defense of the country against all kinds of enemies.

Coke....Who is going to drink it when it is a risk..
#1. the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? or Coke?

Bulleh Shah - A great Sufi Poet
The ancestral village of Bulleh Shah was Uch Gilaniyan in Bahawalpur, now a part of Pakistan. From there his family first shifted to Malakwal (Multan District, Pakistan) and then to Pandoke, which is about 14 miles southeast of Kasur, Pakistan. Bulleh's real name was Abdullah Shah, but Bulleh was his nickname at home, and that is the name he chose to use as a poet. His family background was religious, his father being a highly religious person. Bulleh wrote primarily in Punjabi, but also in the local spoken language, Siraiki, which is a dialect of Sindhi. His style of poetry is called Kafi, which was already an established style with Sufis who preceded him. Several of his songs are regarded as an integral part of the traditional repertoire of Qawwali, the musical genre which represents the devotional music of the Sufis. The tomb of Bulleh Shah is in Kasur, and he is held in reverence by all Sufis of India and Pakistan.

Blood Balti 2009
Few month ago we thought that April is good month for Blood Balti , soon after summer holidays we started our home work , we requested any date in April , we received an massage from Blood Bank , No date is available in April + only closest date available is 27th of November , which falls on Friday , which not only hard , but would be worthless as Friday is one of the busiest day for our community
It seems that we have to skip Blood Balti 2009 , But hang on … there is Blood Balti in Chakwal . Pakistan , Yes , few peoples in Pakistan are carrying the flag of blood Balti , their ways are bit deferent then NZ . Because of storage , What they do? They collect the name and ph numbers and blood type of potential donors . if some one need blood , with coordination of Blood Bank , blood Balti will contact donor and request him to donate blood bank . Although we can not send blood to Pakistan but we can sand something to celebrate about.

UN probe financing |
Tuesday, February 10, 2009 The government of Pakistan has to deposit $1.5 million by this week as seed money for a 'fact-finding' mission into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto. According to a rough estimate, a total of $30 million will be needed for the entire mission. As a national leader and a former two-time prime minister, I think we should find the facts behind her death. However, I think taxpayers' funds should not be used to finance the probe. I have a more practical solution. All the members of the Bhutto family and all members of the PPP should sell some of their assets, both in Pakistan and abroad and generate money for this probe. If the money is still not generated, then the rich people of Pakistan must be voluntarily asked to contribute. If the money is still not generated, then the PPP should wait till such time that it has the money required to pay to the UN. But the poor people of Pakistan must not be made to pay. Waitangi Day
Every year on 6 February, New Zealand marks the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. In that year, representatives of the British Crown and over 500 Maori chiefs signed what is New Zealand’s founding document. The day was first officially commemorated in 1934, and it has been a public holiday since 1974.
For some people, Waitangi Day is a holiday; for many, and especially for Maori, it is the occasion for reflecting on the Treaty. Since the 1970s the style and mood of the commemorations on Waitangi Day have been influenced by the increasingly heated debate surrounding the place of the Treaty in modern New Zealand.
Waitangi Day is recognised as New Zealand's national day, but the long-standing tensions associated with it are always likely to surface in one form or another. The date is an important marker in the country's history. Recognition of the significance of the Treaty of Waitangi as the nation's founding document will continue to encourage leaders, communities and individuals to mark the day in new ways.
"Dreaded Old Age"
I have always dreaded old age. I cannot imagine
anything worse than being old. How awful it must
be to have nothing to do all day long but stare at
the walls or watch TV? So last week, when the
President suggested we all celebrate Senior Citizen
Week by cheering up a senior citizen, I decided to do
just that. I would call on my new neighbor, an elderly
retired gentleman, recently widowed, and who, I
presumed, had moved in with his married daughter
because he was too old to take care of himself. I baked
a batch of cookies, and, without bothering to call (some
old people cannot hear the phone), I went off to brighten
this old guy's day.
When I rang the doorbell this "old guy" came to the door
dressed in tennis shorts and a polo shirt, looking about
as ancient and decrepit as Donny Osmond. "I'm sorry I
can't invite you in," he said when I introduced myself, "but
I'm due at the Racquet Club at two. I'm playing in the
semifinals today."
"Oh that's all right," I said. "I baked you some cookies..."
"Great!" he interrupted, snatching the box. "Just what I
need for bridge club tomorrow! Thanks so much!"
I continued, "...and just thought we'd visit a while. But
that's okay! I'll just trot across the street and call on
Granny Grady."
"Don't bother," he said. "Gran's not home; I know. I just
called to remind her of our date to go dancing tonight.
She may be at the beauty shop. She mentioned at
breakfast (at which house?) that she had an appointment
for a tint job."
. .... So I went home and called my Mother's cousin (age
83); she was in the hospital ... ... working in the gift shop. .
.... I called my aunt (age 74); she was on vacation in China. .
I called my husband's uncle (age 79). I forgot; ...... he was
on his honeymoon. ....
.... I still dread old age, now more than ever. I just don't
think I'm up to it.

A great cause -We all will be there Inshaallah BillaG................
Before Donating
Get a good night’s sleep
Have a good breakfast or lunch
Drink extra water and fluids to replace the volume you will donate (avoid tea, coffee, or other beverages with caffeine)
Eat iron-rich foods — red meat, fish, poultry or liver, beans, iron-fortified cereals, raisins and prunes |
Avoid fatty foods, such as hamburgers, fries, or ice cream before donating. Tests for infections done on all donated blood can be affected by fatty materials — lipids — that appear in your blood for several hours after eating fatty foods. When this occurs and required testing cannot be performed, the blood may need to be discarded. |
During the Donation
Wear clothing with sleeves that can be raised above the elbow
Show the staff any "good veins" that have been used successfully in the past to draw blood
Relax | |
Take the time to enjoy a snack and a drink in the refreshments area immediately after donating |
After Donation
Rehydrate by drinking plenty of fluids over the next 24-48 hours
Avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for about five hours after donation
If you feel light headed, lie down, preferably with feet elevated, until the feeling passes
In rare cases when bleeding occurs after removing the bandage, apply pressure to the site and raise your arm for 3-5 minutes; if bleeding or bruising occurs under the skin, apply a cold pack to the area periodically during the first 24 hours
If for any reason, something doesn’t feel right, call the number provided to you after your donation
Enjoy the good feeling that comes with knowing that you may have saved as many as three lives. |

Want to Add Picture in Reply
Composing a new blog is a good way to do this.
Right click on Post at the top, select open new window, then select Blog.
Once that opens, insert your graphic in there, add your text to it either before or after you insert the picture, change text size, color and/or style.
Once you've got your post the way you want it, place a tick in the Edit HTML box.
Copy the entire entry by either highlighting it all or depressing the Ctrl A, then Ctrl C, minimize or exit that window. NOTE: You will get a popup asking you if you really wish to navigate away from that blog if you exit, select ok.
Go to the area you wish to put the new graphic in. If it's the welcome area of your page/group, you will need to select Customize my site underneath the headshot, then select Edit in the Welcome area, erase what's there, then right click and paste the new entry then select submit.
If it's a reply you wish to post that in, simply right click and select paste, then submit.
