They could be your next door neighbour, your plumber, the student you pass on the way to work each morning, your aunty, your butcher – or even the chap that works in the tollbooth at the supermarket carpark.
They’re New Zealand’s unsung heroes – people who give life to other New Zealanders with no expectation of payment or thanks. And now’s the time to recognise them – on World Blood Donor Day – while encouraging potential donors to also become heroes – whether for a day, a year or a lifetime.
