Pakistan Association of New Zealand held a Sham-e-Midhate Rasool for ladies on 22 May 2004 in Lynnfield Islamic Center Mt. Roskill. The programme was presided over by Mrs. Ghazala Liaqat, a well known social activist and community notable. A good number of female community members participated in the programme and glorified the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) in form of different narrations. The programme started with recitation of Holy Quran by Aysha and was followed by Hamd narration. Mrs. Salma read some extracts from an essay of Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h) while Mrs. Zahida Fayyaz and Mrs. Salman Sheikh jointly followed in with a Naat recitation. Mrs. Ghazala Liaqat appreciated PANZ for holding a separate programme for the ladies and hoped a continuation of the pattern in future times. She spoke at length about life and teachings of the prophet and emphasized to follow the right path. The other ladies who took part in various narrations included Mrs. Samina Irfan, Mrs. Humera Shamsi, Mrs. Aysha Amir and others. Pakistan Association of New Zealand thanks Members Women Council PANZ for holding a disciplined and well-planned programme and appreciate their dedication and commitment for community projects and activities. Women Council PANZ has thanked all those who participated in Sham-e-Midhate Rasool and took care of the sanctity of the occasion with vigor.     Haroon Ahmed General Secretary PANZ
