A Flash Back of Blood Balti

From: DocSent: 22/10/2002 1:45 PM
Dear Zubair Salim (Billa G)

I think you have quite a few committed blood donors have come forward.  We can go ahead and fix a date.

Personally I would love to donate, and I had been donating blood.  But since last year I am on medication and that's the reason I have not come forward.

However I can assure the readers, once again, that within FIFTEEN minutes of giving one pint of blood, our body is so systemised that it pumps the Compressed Red Blood Cells into the blood stream.  That's a "Defence Mechanism", Allah Subhana oo Taala has created in our body.  In fact it's to compensate the body, of blood, in case of an emergency, say one got an accident and have bled.  The bone marrow "Gooda" in "Nalli" is the store for these compressed cells and specially the one in our chest bone that's called "Sternum".  That's the reason, that our "Oldies" were so very fond of having Nahari and Payey.

As I have said before it is a complex physiological process,  however, in common terms, let's say that when you are relaxing after the donation, at the centre for 15 minutes, your body will recoup the same amount of blood that's given.

So, in short, once one goes off from Billa G's house and come back after donation, ready for Balti Goshat, their body would have the same amount of blood in their body.

Any more volunteers for "Balti Goshat".  Contact immediately.  Time is short.  I understand Labour Weekend is the target!!!!!!  There is a Sale at "Khan's Halal Meat" in Sandringham !!!! (Adrees should give me a commission for advertising)

"Zor Hai Balti Gosht Par"

Kindest regards

Doc

UAE strips 6 of citizenship over security concerns

By ADAM SCHRECK | AP

DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates said Thursday it is revoking the citizenship of six naturalized citizens because the government says they pose a threat to national security.

The unexpected order was issued by President Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier this month, according to the announcement by state news agency WAM. The men were granted Emirati citizenship between 1976 and 1986.

The news agency quoted an unnamed source at the General Administration for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs who said the six had acted to threaten “the national security of the UAE through their connection with suspicious regional and international organizations and personalities.”

Some of the men were associated with groups that have been linked with terrorist financing, the state news agency quoted the official as saying.

It didn’t provide details or say where the men originally came from.

However, a person familiar with the case told The Associated Press that four of the men were of Iranian origin and two came from Yemen. He said the men’s Emirati citizenship status was revoked “once it became clear that the rules under which they were granted (citizenship) were being violated.”

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Officials at the naturalization and residency office couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

The seven-state UAE federation is a close ally of the United States.

Five political activists, including a prominent blogger and an economics professor, were convicted late last month on anti-state charges that included insulting the UAE’s top leadership, endangering national security and inciting people to protest. They were pardoned by the federation’s president a day after their sentences of two to three years in jail were handed down.

ID Reminder

Hi Billa G,

Thanks once again for being tremendous and organising your members to donate blood. I have attached a poster and a checklist for Sohni Dharti’s Blood Balti. Feel free to forward these onto everyone and/or print some off to display in your common areas. If you need anything changed on the poster then let me know.

As always it is very important that those interested in giving blood have had sufficient fluids and have had something to eat prior to donating, but since you are providing food that shouldn’t be a problem

you could remind them to bring their ID (driver’s licence, passport or their donor card), this is very important as ID is required every time someone donates and they will not be able to save lives by giving blood if they have no ID on them.

If you have any concerns or queries before the donation day then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I look forward to seeing the guys from Sohni Dharti on Tuesday 10th of January .  Thank you so much for your help – I couldn’t do it without you – makes me proud to know you

 Kind regards,

 Scott Sinclair

SOON WEST ALSO HAVE A BLASPHEMY LAWS

Australian sentenced to 500 lashes in Saudi Arabia

An Australian man has been sentenced to 500 lashes and a year in jail by a Saudi Arabian court after being found guilty of blasphemy, Canberra said on Wednesday.

Reports said Mansor Almaribe, 45, was detained in the city of Medina on November 14 while making the hajj pilgrimage and accused of insulting companions of the prophet Mohammed.

Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said he was sentenced on Tuesday and Canberra's ambassador in Saudi Arabia had been in touch with authorities to plead for leniency.

"The Australian ambassador has been in touch with Saudi authorities after a 45-year-old Australian man was sentenced by a court in Saudi Arabia to one year in jail and 500 lashes," a DFAT spokeswoman said.

A consular official attended the sentencing, where Almaribe was initially slapped with a two-year jail term which was subsequently reduced, the spokeswoman added.

The Melbourne Age has previously said the father-of-five, who could not afford a lawyer, suffers from diabetes and heart disease, with grave fears for his health.

His eldest son, Jamal, told the newspaper this week that his father had been reading and praying in a group when accosted by religious police and arrested.

Zardari’s Sister Faryal Talpur-Owned Indus Air to replace PIA

Zardaris Sister Faryal Talpur Owned Indus Air to replace PIA
KARACHI: There is not a single day without any news about Pakistan International Airline, but not for any good reason rather all about its ailing financial health, poor performance, flights delay, emergency landings and etc.
But there are some latest and stunning revelations that the ailing national flag carrier is being pushed to dead-end deliberately just to pave the way for a new private airline reportedly owned by a close relative of the President House’s inhabitant.
Though the state-owned airline’s financial health was not good before the incumbent dispensation, but during the tenure of this government it moved from bad to worst despite the repeated and consistent calls from all the quarter for restructuring and overhauling of the airline to restore its past glory.
As the airline is fast nearing toward collapse, there are startling reports that a private airline reportedly owned by a close relative of holder of top constitutional office of the country is being launched, which will replace the national flag carrier.
Reliable sources in the airline industry told The News Tribe that the national flag carrier was being deliberately pushed toward collapse so that the way could be paved for the new airline.
They claimed the new airline, Indus Air, is owned by Faryal Talpur MNA, sister of President Asif Ali Zardari, They further said that the news of PIA planes’ crash landings, technical faults and flights delays were being propagated purposefully on daily basis and despite repeated call no step had been taken for complete overhaul of the airline so that the PIA could be declared bankrupt and unfeasible entity.    Despite repeated attempts the News Tribe cold not reached out to Faryal Talpur for her version about the issue.
The Indus Air reportedly owned by Mrs Faryal Talpur is a company registered in Bahamas and will become operative very soon, they sources confided to The News Tribe.
The sources said that the airline will be run by former Managing Director PIA Ijaz Haroon, who was removed as MD PIA after prolong strike and protest by PIA employees and pilots.
The website of the Indus Air says that the airline will be launched soon. According to the site, which displays the routes of the airline through map, the airline will run its flights to almost all domestic stations in Pakistan to which the PIA currently operates flights. The airline will operative flight on almost all domestic routes, besides major international routes.
Interesting, the domestic routes of the airline include those on which no private airline currently runs flight and as per PIA management, these routes are financially unviable such as flight from Peshawar to Chitral and Rawalpindi to Gilgit and Skardu.

Blood Balti 2012

Focal point

If find good idea and have capacity to turn in to task rather then tusk. Godly forces of good gathering on on that focal point, then fountain of good erupts and mankind enjoy. There’s nothing good if it not good for human and humanity in Guru Granth sahib it says ”Humanity, Nimrata is the Mool (root), the Tatt (core), the very seed and foundation of all the Divine Virtues of the Lord"

Quran Kareem said "one human saved means humanity"

Gita Saar says "By God's blessings. Let us together join our mental forces in strength (-veeryam) for the benefit of humanity”

I am blood donor since 1997. Every time I donated blood I felt great a kind of lightness with senses that I have saved some one’s life. After creating sohni dharti. Idea struck that we can use this community platform to advertised blood donation campaign. Sohni dharti was first community web site it very new to community.  Only few months old when we announced first blood balti, we did it just for fun sake, it starred from my place in penrose. Nine people gathered we had massive BBQ and big lunch then we off to blood bank whole plan was already coordinated  with blood bank all of us donated blood came back to my place for another round of BBQ dinner, everybody was happy, gathering ended with this that we will do this again. When we launched first blood balti we did not know we will take it this far that parliament of New Zealand will echo with name of Sohni Dharti and we will be declared "the best" in blood bank. Off course "the best"make us tall on same time we are humble too, it was not possible without help of haji mumtaz , raja naeem alam , jamshaid ul hassan, javed iqbal and generosity of mr. bhatti who is sponsor of blood balti for last many years.

Becoming "the best" maybe not that hard but keeping the best would not be easy. God willing, with the help of friends we accept this challenge. WE promise to ourselves that we will deliver the best.

Every good cause, big or small has its stages of toll and triumph, a thought, a start , a struggle and success. Success of blood balti is a very small human effort in will of Almighty God for human to survive and thrive.

Blood Balti 2012 would be our tenth blood balti.

EID UL ADHA MUBARAK

-----------WISHING YOU ALL HAPPY EID UL ADHA AND HAJ 2011-------
kBy  Syed Mujeeb & His Family

A JOURNEY OF FAITH

Haj —  the fifth pillar of Islam — is a religious journey to the House of Allah in Makkah. This is in response to the call of Prophet Abraham when Allah commanded him to call mankind to perform Haj. Haj is the largest gathering of Muslims as about three million Muslims from all over the world meet to worship their Lord. All barriers including language, color, class and race are broken.

Haj is compulsory upon every Muslim under the following condition:

1. Islam

2. Maturity

3. Healthy

4. Mentally sound.

5. Security.

6. Enough money to cover the journey and take care of his dependents.

Preparation for Haj:
If one intends to perform Haj, he must consider the following:

1. Intention. Intention is very important in any act of worship, the intention must be for the sake of Allah.

2. It is important for anyone who intends to perform Haj to learn much about it.

3. One must clear his debts, as Haj is not obligatory upon anyone who is in debt. One should not borrow money or use a credit card to buy a ticket to Haj.

4. It is recommended that one settle all disputes between him and anyone he is at loggerheads with.

5. It is also recommended that one write his will and advises his family to fear Allah before he departs.

Women are required to perform Haj in the company of a Mahram, (someone who cannot marry her). Married women should seek the permission of their husbands to perform Haj.

IHRAM:

Ihram is referred to as the two pieces of cloth male pilgrims wear to cover the body, one for the upper part and  the other for the lower part. Pilgrims are required to take their Ihram at the Miqaat and start reciting the Talbiya.

TALBIYA:

Talbiya are words of praises pilgrims pronounce in response to Allah's call from the time they take their Ihram till the tenth of Dhul Hijjah. Talbiya, labbaik allahumma labbaik labbaika la shareek lak labbaik innal hamda wanniamata laka wal mulk la shareeka lak is recited aloud.

TAWAF:

Upon reaching Makkah, pilgrims head toward Haram (the House of Allah at Makkah) to make tawaf (circumambulation) round the Kaaba seven times. The top gown of Ihram covers the left shoulder while the right arm is left uncovered.

SA'YIE:

Sa'yie is the seven round of walking and jogging which begins at Safa and ends at Marwa.

EIGHTH OF DUL HIJJAH:

On this day, pilgrims move to Mina reciting Talbiya, at Mina all four rak'ats of compulsory prayers are shortened to two.

NINTH OF DUL HIJJAH:

Pilgrims proceed to Arafat before dhuhr prayer  and stay at Arafat until after sunset engaged in supplications. Standing at Arafat is the most important part of the Haj.

Pilgrims proceed to Muzdalifah after sunset repeating the Talbiya and should not perform maghrib prayer at Arafat.

MUZDALIFAH:

Upon reaching Muzdalifah, pilgrims are required to perform maghrib and isha prayers together with one adhan and two iqaamah, Isha prayer is shortened to two.

TENTH OF DUL HIJJAH:

On the tenth of Dul Hijjah, pilgrims perform the subhi prayer and wait until sunrise when they will proceed to Mina. They pick seven pebbles to be thrown at Jamrat Aqaba.

RAMYI AT MINA (TENTH OF DUL HIJJAH):

On the tenth of Dul Hijjah, pilgrims are required to throw seven pebbles at Jamrat Aqaba. The jamrat is only symbol of devil. Pilgrims throw seven pebbles at the Jamrat Aqaba saying Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) each time a pebble is thrown. After throwing the pebbles, slaughter the sacrificial animal (if needed,) and trim or shave their heads (women however trim their hair) and remove the Ihram but should spend the two or three following nights at Mina until they finish throwing the pebbles.

On the tenth of Dul Hijjah, one must proceed to Makkah and perform Tawaf Al Ifadhah, and return to Mina to spend the night.

ELEVENTH OF DUL HIJJAH:

On the eleventh of Dul Hijjah, pilgrims go to throw pebbles at the three jamrats beginning with the one near Mina, then the second one and the last one which is near Muzdalifah.

TWELFTH OF DUL HIJJAH:

On this day, pilgrims throw seven pebbles as done on the previous day and are free to return to Makkah before sunset.

NOTE: If one however delays until after sunset, he must remain in Mina and throw the pebbles again on the thirteenth and then proceed to Makkah.

TAWAFUL WIDAA:

This is known as farewell tawaf, and it should be done at the last hour before leaving Makkah. If after the tawaf the pilgrim spends another night in Makkah, he or she is required to do the tawaf again.

VISIT TO MADINAH:

A visit to the Prophet Muhammad's Mosque in Madinah is recommended after or before the Haj.

Haj without permits unlawful: Mufti

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah Al-Asheikh

By P.K. ABDUL GHAFOUR | ARAB NEWS

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia sought to discourage Saudis and expatriates from performing pilgrimage this year without valid Haj permits with an intensified public awareness campaign through the media.

The country’s grand mufti also said it was unlawful to do Haj without permits. “Helping pilgrims to enter the holy sites without Haj permits goes against the law and the ruler, and those who perform Haj without permits are doing an unlawful thing,” Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh said in a statement distributed by the Makkah governorate.

The mufti also spoke against the practice of squatting in public places by pilgrims, saying such practice would reduce their rewards as they cause problems to the Kingdom’s Haj managers and fellow pilgrims by obstructing walkways.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz said it was the duty of Muslims to ensure the safety of pilgrims and support the measures taken by the government for the purpose. “The government did not introduce the Haj permit system without any purpose but to reduce overcrowding during the pilgrimage,” he pointed out.

Muhammad Badahdah, assistant secretary-general of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), supported the Haj permit system. He said it was essential not only to control the crowd but also to plan for necessary services. Currently unpredictable number of pilgrims are performing Haj from within the Kingdom.

“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has set out a system that every country can send 1,000 pilgrims for each million of its population. But the number of people going for Haj from the Kingdom is way beyond its quota, and this causes a lot of problem for Saudi Haj managers,” Badahdah told Arab News.

He said the provision of allowing Saudis and expatriates to perform Haj after every five years is good. “Expatriate workers going for Haj should know that their number is not included in the quota of their respective countries and should not misuse the facility,” he added.

political mafia.

Brothers and sisters Pakistan is asking for our help to liberate it from the hands of corrupt political mafia. It desperately needs a new leadership and who else can be more suitable for this job than Mr Imran Khan. So lets bring PTI in power. We PTI supporters in NZ want to start a PTI chapter in NZ, ( with the permission of PTI NZ representative Uzra Balouch Sahiba) so that we can put our best efforts together, for this purpose we are going to organise an open gathering for all to attend and discuss how we make this possible. Our next step will be taken from there. Please share your views on this on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf New Zealand facebook page or on PANZ, PAKBAZ, DOSTI , Sohni Dharti or Pakiwis page.

OUR Procedure of Distributing Funds:PSA

We were asked to provide details about distribution of funds collected by PSA, kindly read following paragraphs:
OUR Procedure of Distributing Funds:
We will distributing the funds through our own reliable personal and local contacts in Pakistan. We DO NOT intend to give the amount to Govt. or any agency or organization but will do on the ground low levels.
Mainly we intend to do the distribution of the funds in Sindh province which is most affected. We have students from different regions in the interior Sindh who have contacts, who are already working on emergency basis to help people. Shaban is from District Thatta, (Lower Sindh) and another friend doing PhD in English from upper part of Sindh.
We will NOT distribute the cash or checks to the affected people, since in this it is difficult to maintain the transparent distribution. We intend to provide the food, medicine, tents, and other items of need.
Our local contacts have enough information to identify the most needy people or family in the affected villages through their personal contacts and we make sure that only the most deserving people will be helped out of this.
We will provide the proofs of the funds distribution, e.g., photographs, videos and NIC number of the person/people helped out. We intend to get those proofs and display in the Islamic centres who allowed us to collect donations or contributed in the form of the Zakat.
We will send the money in the next week and distribute it on @least two places, i.e., Lower part of Sindh and upper part of Sindh, which are the most affected areas and we have our local personal reliable contact to work out and help poor people.
Thanks
Kind regards

Talk to, not at, Pakistan By Asif Ali Zardari,

 Published: October 1
Democracy always favors dialogue over confrontation. So, too, in Pakistan, where the terrorists who threaten both our country and the United States have gained the most from the recent verbal assaults some in America have made against Pakistan. This strategy is damaging the relationship between Pakistan and the United States and compromising common goals in defeating terrorism, extremism and fanaticism.
It is time for the rhetoric to cool and for serious dialogue between allies to resume.
Pakistan sits on many critical fault lines. Terrorism is not a statistic for us. Our geopolitical location forces us to look to a future where the great global wars will be fought on the battleground of ideas. From the Middle East to South Asia, a hurricane of change is transforming closed societies into marketplaces of competing narratives. The contest between the incendiary politics of extremism and the slow burn of modern democracy is already being fought in every village filled with cellphones, in every schoolroom, on every television talk show. It is a battle that moderation must win.
Our motives are simple. We have a huge population of young people who have few choices in life. Our task is to turn this demographic challenge into a dividend for democracy and pluralism, where the embrace of tolerance elbows out the lure of extremism, where jobs turn desolation into opportunity and empowerment, where plowshares take the place of guns, where women and minorities have a meaningful place in society.
None of this vision for a new Pakistan is premised on the politics of victimhood. It pivots on a worldview where we fight the war against extremism and terrorism as our battle, at every precinct and until the last person, even though we lack the resources to match our commitment. When Pakistan seeks support, we look for trade that will make us sustainable, not aid that will bind us in transactional ties. When we commit to a partnership against terrorism, we do it in the hope that our joint goals will be addressed. When we add our shoulder to the battle, we look for outcomes that leave us stronger.
Yet as Pakistan is pounded by the ravages of globally driven climate change, with floods once again making millions of our citizens homeless, we find that, instead of a dialogue with our closest strategic ally, we are spoken to instead of being heard. We are being battered by nature and by our friends. This has shocked a nation that is bearing the brunt of the terrorist whirlwind in the region. And why?
After the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the world’s most powerful democracy compromised its fundamental values to accommodate a dictator in Pakistan. Since then we have lost 30,000 innocent civilians and 5,000 military and police officers to the militant mind-set that the U.S. government is now charging that we support. We have suffered more than 300 suicide bomb attacks by the forces that allegedly find sanctuary within our borders. We have hemorrhaged approximately $100 billion directly in the war effort and tens of billions more in lost foreign investment. The war is being fought in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, yet Washington has invested almost nothing on our side of the border and hundreds of billions of dollars on the other side.
We fight an ideology that feeds on brutality and coercion that has taken the lives of our minister for minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti, and Gov. Salman Taseer, among thousands of others. And we have seen our greatest leader, the mother of my children, assassinated by a conspiracy that was powered by the same mind-set we are now accused of tolerating.
Both our nations need to learn from history. South and Central Asia is a region of complexity and nuance where mistakes repeat dangerously and where many empires have floundered. In the 10 years that NATO has been in the neighborhood, it has not even attempted to choke the world’s largest production of narcotic contraband that funds terrorist activity. Yet we struggle to hold the line against the tidal wave of extremism that surges into Pakistan each day from internationally controlled areas of Afghanistan. While we are accused of harboring extremism, the United States is engaged in outreach and negotiations with the very same groups.
The Pakistani street is thick with questions. My people ask, Is our blood so cheap? Are the lives of our children worthless? Must we fight alone in our region all those that others now seek to embrace? And how long can we degrade our capacity by fighting an enemy that the might of the NATO global coalition has failed to eliminate?
As the United States plans to remove its ground forces from Afghanistan and once again leave our region, we are attempting to prepare for post-withdrawal realities. The international community abandoned Central and South Asia a generation ago, triggering the catastrophe that we now find ourselves in. Whoever comes or goes, it is our coming generation that will face the firestorm. We have to live in the neighborhood. So why is it unreasonable for us to be concerned about the immediate and long-term situation of our Western border? History will not forgive us if we don’t take responsibility.
Where do the United States and Pakistan go from here? We are partners in a world where broadcasts and bombs know no borders. We fight a common menace. We share the same democratic values and dreams for a moderate, modern, pluralistic, democratic South and Central Asia. We jointly appreciate that trade, job creation and manufacturing will dry up conscripts for the extremist banner, yet we never saw Congress approve the Reconstruction Opportunity Zones that were meant to secure vulnerable livelihoods. We are on convergent policy tracks, but our rhetoric has split us onto divergent roads.
The recent accusations against us have been a serious setback to the war effort and our joint strategic interests. It is not as if Pakistanis will stop reclaiming our terrain, inch by inch, from the extremists, even without the United States. We are a tenacious people. We will not allow religion to become the trigger for terrorism or persecution.
But when we don’t strategize together, and when an ally is informed instead of consulted, we both suffer. The sooner we stop shooting verbal arrows at each other and coordinate our resources against the advancing flag of fanaticism, the sooner we can restore stability to the land for which so much of humanity continues to sacrifice.

Two Months Until Election Day

I am holding a volunteers and supporters get together to thank all of you for the help and support you have given our campaign so far. Together we have canvassed 11,000 Te Atatu voters, erected 70+ campaign signs and delivered over 90,000 pieces of mail.
It is your effort that will enable us to win Te Atatu for Labour. We will win because we are talking about the issues that really matter to Te Atatu residents. Not a day goes by when I don't see how our message hits home with Te Atatu residents, on the door step, at the shop, or even while putting up hoardings.
Te Atatu residents are worried about the stagnating wages and economy, the increasing cost of living, the increasing lack of opportunity for our children and a need for jobs.
We are campaigning on an optimistic message that there is an alternative to low wages and high costs. There is an alternative to foreign ownership and asset sales. There is a future for our kids that is bright and hopeful.
There is a lot of effort going into taking this message to Te Atatu residents, and I want to thank you for the hard work and all the support.
So please come along and join us at our campaign get-together. We are going to celebrate our achievements so far, and enjoy an hour or two with fellow Labour supporters as we gear up for a busy last two months of the campaign.

by Zubair (BillaG) for everyone

Once it is said if you have not seen Lahore you have not been born. Just like that. If you live in New Zealand and dont know about haka you are not very genius

HAKA is basically a war dance in other world a challenge to your opponent .There are too many HAKAs are out there every tribe has its own HAKA .But the most famous HAKA is All Blacks HAKA which they perform before every match in front of their opponent .called Ka Mate, was composed about 1820 by Te Rauparaha , paramount chief of Ngati Toa. The words are:

Ka Mate Ka Mate! KA ora! Ka ora!(twice)

I die! I die! I live! I live!

Tenei te tangata puhuru huru

This hairy man .

Nana nei I tiki mai

Who fetched the sun

Whakawhiti te ra

And cause it to shine again

A upa .ne! Ka upa ne.

One up ward step! An other up ward step!

A upan kaupane whiti te ra

An upwards step, an other upwards step.the Sun shine
