What is Blood Balti?

Blood Balti is combination of two words Blood stand for Blood and Balti has two meanings of it. Balti stand for bucket or container and Balti stand for a Punjabi dish cooked in wok.

So Blood Bank brings a Balti (bucket) in shapes of bags, to collect Blood. We bring Balti (wok) in shape of dish. Sohni Dharti invites peoples from all walks of life to donate Blood

What is Sohni Dharti?

Sohni Dharti is a web based group of few people who are organizing Blood Balti every year since 2002.

Where do these Blood donations go?

Blood bank of NZ. is sole provider of all blood requirements of blood in NZ's hospitals, Blood Bank collect it process it and send it whenever it is required. To meet the demand blood bank need healthy blood donors all the time. Specially during holidays because need of blood don’t stop

Do I have to donate blood if I come to Blood Balti?

NO! Neither it is compulsory nor is it a condition to join Blood Balti. Just come along bring a friend or two with you enjoy FREE BBQ, Music and Gup Shup. It is all about educating and brings awareness to our community that how a little act of donating blood can change the world of recipient.

Urdu Hindi Cultural Association of New Zealand is
a step closer to its next project of starting Urdu and Hindi
teaching classes at various locationS in New Zealand.

The association has already started Urdu teaching at 431 Old Te atatu Road Te atatu Peninsula Road Auckland with the kind
courtesy of Janab Mazhar Memon Sahib whose location is
currently being used by the two teachers MR RAVAT MOHAMMAD
YOUSUF and MRS HASINA ISMAIL MULLA who have voluntary
offered their services to teach at the above location.
ALL THOSE INTERESTED TO LEARN URDU AND HINDI

launching of " DHANAK " by honourable
kanwaljit singh bakshi MP


A great function was organised by URDU HINDI CULTURAL ASSOCIATION
OF NEW ZEALAND to launch the first annual magazine "DHANAK" of the association
which is in three languages Urdu Hindi and English and printed in India.

The function was held at 54 Roberton Road Avondale on 2nd of September and was attended
by languages loving people. Among them were both Indian members of the Parliament
Hon Kanwaljit Singh Bakhshi and Dr Rajen Prasad . Other digniteries were Roopa Sachdev
Janab Tauqir Khan very senior member of the Pakistani community and former President of Pakistan association Janab Billa G of Blood Balti and the representatives of all three Indian radios Roopa Sachdev
of Radio Tarana Janab Nasir Khan Sahib of Radio Apna and Indian radio legend of New Zealand Mr Rajesh Maharaj
of Radio HUM.The magazine "DHANAK" was lauched by Honourable Kanwaljit Singh Bakhshi
The President Mr Nafis Akhtar hoped that this magazine will become the monthly magzine
oneday if the support of the people continued. Dr Rajen Prasad appreciated the efforts of
the officials in bringing out such a beautiful magazine. " I SPECIALLY LIKE ITS NAME DHANAK
WHICH IS BEAUTIFUL NAME" said Dr Prasad.
Dr Taimoori and Janab Tauqir Khan Sahib spoke about the sevrices of Janab Syed
Mujeeb who recently recieved Queen Service Medal on queens Birthday honours.The two congratulated Br Syed Mujeeb on behalf of the association.
In the end Roopa suchdev thanked everybody who made contribution in the magazine and assisted the
association.
The programme was very successfully coordinated by very able and hardworking Janab
Mohammad Imran sahib who was Master of ceremonies of the function
