Annual General Meeting of Pakistan Association of New Zealand year 2003 is going to be held on 19 January 2004 at 106 Halsey Drive Lynnfield .The meeting will start at 6:30 pm of the said date at Halsey Drive Primary School Hall. It is also decided that fast track approach will be taken to inform all the existing members. All fast tracks mean including telephone will be used to get the passive members registered and attend the meeting before 17 January 2004. Agenda of the meeting is

The Secretary will give notice of a Special General Meeting no later than seven days after receiving the request. Annual General Meetings: i. The Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held on a date fixed by the General Committee as soon as it can be conveniently arranged after the end of the financial year of the Association for the following purposes 1. To receive the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts for the proceeding year duly audited. 2. To elect members of the General Committee for the ensuing year. 3. The consideration of any other business with the permission of Chairperson. At least seven days notice of the date of such meeting shall be given by post by the secretary to members and a copy of such notice shall be posted at the registered office.

“DAL MAIN KUCHH KALA HAI” I n a telephone conversation with Sohni Dharti, Mr Bhatti says that on 17 of Jan 2004 , between 6mp to 8pm, non of PANZ member were there to collect the member form, Mr Bhatti says , he sent his son to PANZ office to registered his family, but shocked to know that there were no one responsible person there, Mr Bhatti says it looks like that there is “DAL MAIN KUCHH KALA HAI”Mr Bhatti added that PANZ has not adapted the correct procedure to conduct this AGM, And PANZ is not giving 7 day notice of this meeting and PANZ did not posted any latter to all of its members, Mr Bhatti says this is big test for PANZ who have membership of above 900, if PANZ is not capable of keeping this level it would be failure of there pre election promise which was “out of drawing, in to peoples heart” Mr Bhatti advised, if proper procedure would not adapt this AGM would tern in to SMG, and by the power of members votes, current office holders must pack there bags , A page from constitution, WINDING UP OR DISSOLUTION. The Association may be wound up voluntarily if at a General Meeting of its members a resolution was passed requiring the association to be wound up, and the resolution is confirmed at the subsequent General Meeting called by together for that purpose and held not earlier than thirty days after the date on which the resolution so to be confirmed was passed. Any property belonging to the Association on a voluntary winging up and all the property of the Association in the event of dissolution by the registrar shall subject to the payment there out of any debts and liabilities of the Association be deposited with Pakistan Embassy until another Association with similar aims is formed. Any remaining funds will be handed over to such an Association
I UNDERSTAND YOUR OATH AND COMMITMENTS
I fully agree with the concept, notice of AGM should be given 21 working
days prior to AGM to all members, and if current office bearers shown
interest they would have taken a step further and convince people to renew
the membership at personal level as it was done before. Lets see, how it
goes.

KALI DAL After shameful calendar , it was a shameful AGM , once 948 members and now PANZ have only 53 members ,out of 53 only 36 was present, what more shameful it could be that no executive was there and even general secretary was not there, said Mr Bhatti former VP and G/sec of PANZ , who boycotted this AGM on the grounds that PANZ did not adapt right producer, in many ways one, PANZ did not give enough time to get more membership, and PANZ was failed to give the copy of yearly accounts, and when Mr Bhatti asked about the copy, “SHORT OF FUNDS” was the answer, from Mr President, Mr Bhatti said 10c per copy it cost only $5 and 30c, where PANZ have had funds for big posters for protest march, Mr Bhatti said this crippled PANZ is not acceptable to Pakistani community, he added that “PANZ is back in drawing room and out people hearts” as we see it very clearly by attendance, Mr Bhatti said it not DAL MAIN KUCHH KALA HAI, but I believe that whole DAL is KALI now, Mr president is going in couple of weeks, and his plane was to get away with out AGM, but pressure from public was so high that President had to call for AGM in hurry,

Can any one tell us the outcome of AGM, who witnessed it. Who are the new
members of trust, and who are the executives, what is their role in the
Association ( each one of them). It is good if someone from the Association
give the right info to their pakistani fellows. I suggest them to use
technology (email) and send one page newsletter, which contains the upcoming
events or in which community shows its interest, any free training,
employment, help required, helping hand available, housing, renting, selling
household items, Births and Deaths info etc.
Info about WINZ, IRD, Taxi Companies, Courses to become a taxi driver or any
little info for our community. Please think seriously and do constructive
work for the development of the community.

Respected Gail T when yu open page of SohaniDharti pls. go to the pictures and yu can see how many peoples were present. PANZ did not adpted the correct procedure, it must be 21 days and published in the New Zealand Hearld and notified to the Registerer ,and copy of accounts was not given to any member who are present there,and accounts was not made by the accountant and not audited accordingly. It is time for executives to make themselves clear, are they happy with PANZ doing, it is executive job to keep eye on PANZ accounts, have they got the copy of accounts, According to Sohni Dharti sources, PANZ have more $ 20000 in it accounts as income through community donation A page from constitution THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. The Executive Committee shall consist of 3 persons. Who are Pakistani and holds NZ Citizenship or PR, with good reputation having no criminal back ground. They should be honest, respected and recognized member of community and age over 18 years. i. Selection Criteria of Executive Committee Members 1. In the 1st general meeting of Association the members will elect the 3 members for the Member Executive Committee by showing their hands for support. 2. The current members of the Executive Committee are not entitled to contest in the election of General Committee. 3. If one member of the Executive Committee Resigned or died the Rest two of the Executive members has the powers to select an other member of the Association as the Member of Executive Committee. 4. If two or all members resigned or died then the selection of the Executive Committee Members will be done by calling Special General Meeting. ii. Powers/Role of Executive Committee. 1. To monitor, keep an eye on the activities of General Committee & responsible for long term projects. 2. To evaluate the performance of the General Committee. 3. To ensure that the activities of the General Committee should be in line with the constitution and for the betterment of the Pakistani Community. 4. To lay down a time frame for election for the PANZ General Committee, no sooner then 24 months from the last election and not later than 25 months from the last elections. 5. Act as a neutral election commission and hold free and fair election in given time frame. 6. Take control of the administrative and legal issues of PANZ i.e Registration, filing of accounts to the Registrar of Companies, ensuring mail box are current and paid. 7. Take over the charge of all other matters e.g banks accounts etc at least 15 days before the election from the existing body and handover to the new elected body not later then 15 days after election. 8. Ensuring that the Oath Taking ceremony will take place with in 10 days of the election date. 9. In the event of General Committee being un-constitutional, the Executive Committee will give a written notice to them signed by all three members and seek a written reply from the General Committee. Only after three such notices with at least 2 weeks interval they would have the right to dissolve the General Committee or if all the members of Executive Committee are agreed that the reply from General Committee is unsatisfactory, they would have the right to dissolve the General Committee and call for new elections within two months time. 10. The Day to Day running of PANZ would not be the responsibility of Executive Committee. 11. The tenor of the Executive Committee is for 3 years and after completion of its tenor the members of Executive committee should get the endorsement in the General Meeting for next term. If they fail to get endorsement an other member will be elected through procedure written above in point 4(a)i-1

Assalam o alaikum
Thank you very much for the page from PANZ constitution regarding executives
responsibilites. Believe me, i'm in close contact with PANZ and communicate
to them very regularly, but without exerting any political pressure on them,
because i think it's not adequate for any executive to put any political
pressure on a democratically elected body. Political pressure must and
should always come from the community, and i can see that members of the
cmomunity are doing it exactly in the right way. This positive opposition
and citicisim is very democratic and essential to keep leaders actively on
the right path.
I would like to comment on some of the hot issues at the moment:-
1) Accounts: I wanted to attend AGM but because of some unavoidable work
related responsibilities, I could'nt make it and when i went there, it was
too late. I have received a copy of the accounts yesterday through email,
but so far unable to open the attachment because my computer can't handle
the programme it's been written. I'm meeting Shahid tomorrow personally to
see the hard copy of these accounts. I'll make sure that these accounts are
audited by an authorised accountant and a copy of these is available to each
member atleast through PANZ email or Sohni Dharti.
2) Absence of President:- After hearing these rhumors that Tanveer is
permanantly leaving the country, I have discussed this matter with him
during an official meeting between executives and the committee and he
assured the meeting that he's only leaving NZ for a limited time and will be
back. I'm sure none of us is a mind reader and we have to take his words,
only time will tell that how true this claim is.
3) Pasbaan's Election Promises:- All of us knew from the begining that this
list was too ambitious and very difficult to achieve. But at the same time
when i compare PANZ's performance until now with previous associations, it's
not too bad and they still got few more months to do bit more. Infact their
performance so far can match any best association's performance of the past
15-16 years.
In the end I would like to request everyone to please actively participate
on each programme and provide your feedback, bring in new talented and
honest people, always do a positive criticism and try to avoid mud
throughing on each other, remember our Quaid's saying UNITY, FAITH,
DESCIPLINE.

Fresh Air or Air freshener There are clear breaches of constitution, from day first, the crisis we are seeing has history of wrong doing from day first when Raja did refuse to accept congratulations greeting fro Hajii Mumtaz on day of his panel win, Raja was so intoxicated by his panel’s win, he could not keep his senses in sense, that was first injury to PANZ at first day PANZ birth, since then PANZ is being handled by unexperienced training, and lack of nourishment Now it time for air freshener, and there is place for one executive in community and in constitution as well , way not bring one of oldies to show us right way to success, dignity, pride, to live as alive nation, not like dread horse

It is very disppointing that Mr. Raja has resigned, Mr. Sabir Hussain is in Japan and the only Altaf Bhai of New Zealand is here who has the chance again to take the PANZ home as he did previously and destroy it.
It is high time that the community should realize that who is the cause of all the troubles in the Pakistan community and why he is destroying it.
The GANDA ANDA should be recognised and exploded.

The annual General Meeting had no substance. No rules were folowed attendance was extremely poor. The AGM was late by 4 months and it was just a white wash. The accounts were not audited. The required time for notice was not observed. The whole show was just waste of time.

The meeting decided the following in outcome Cabinet Meeting reviewed its performance in the last year and expressed satisfaction of the progress and achievements it made during the course of time.
