Protest March

Dear Brothers and Sisters

There are times when we need to come together, be one and resolute in our struggle as developing community. We believe March on Friday 2 January against hate movies and in support of peace is one such occasion. Every body should take it as duty to bring as many people as possible to this protest march and don`t be lazy and don’t take it as one of the common programmes we continue to to hold throughout the year. This is special and will test our commitment with Pakistan at individual level. Come yourself, with your family and children. We want children to lead this march so that future generation might live in an environment without cheap propaganda like LOC. Make sure this is family event.

Some Instructions for Protest March

Playcards will be provided by PANZ. No body should bring his own as we are focused on main issue not on the relevant issues of India or Indians. Keep in mind majority of our Indian friends have rejected LOC movie. Slogans have also been chosen carefully and everything will be centralized. Please follow what is instructed to you and remember again this march is neither against India nor against Indian but those elements who want to see both communities divided forever.

Be sure every body around should be standing by us on this day and time.

UNITED WE STAND & SUCCES WE GET                       Thanx to God almighty and unity of Pak people, Pakistan Association of New Zealand has succeeded in getting Indian Movie “LOC” off the Capitol Cinema and its no more running there. Three member PANZ team headed by Vice President Shahid Azad had visited Capital Cinema yesterday evening and were told that movie will continue to run for another week. PANZ conveyed a clear message-- if “LOC” was not taken off today(by yesterday), from Monday (today) PANZ will start protesting in front of Capital Cinema at each and every show. Today we received call from Raj Sharma Owner Capital Cinema informing us that he is immediately taking off the movie and this has been displayed at their web site. Mr. Raj Sharma has said that he feels sorry for the emotional disturbance this movie has caused to Pakistani community. He vowed that in future time he will avoid showing controversial movies. We are thankful to him for cooperating in handling of this difficult issue.  Congratulation to all those who spared their time in participating Protest March held in Queen Street on 2 January 2004, those who worked tirelessly for preparing background information and those who volunteered themselves for daily protest at Capitol Cinema. Volunteers are hereby informed that we are calling off the daily protest plan as our demand has been met by Cinema Management.   However we will continue to pursue against anti-Pakistan movies and their availability from Indian Video outlets by careful and well-designed ways involving wide range of people including Indian community.   This is a historic and big achievement for Pakistan community and will go a long way in history of Pakistani people living in New Zealand. Credit goes to the people and the workers.  Is Parcham Kay Sai Talay Hum Aik Han Hum Aik Han  Tanveer Syed President Pakistan Association of New Zealand

PANZ President Speech on Protest March On behalf of Pakistani Community, Pakistan Association of NZ condemns the Indian Movie “LOC” being shown at some local cinemas in Auckland We express our displeasure at Censor Authority that allowed such an abusive and anti-Pakistan movie to run in New Zealand.  We demand authorities to take immediate action and ban LOC. And make sure in future no such type of hate movie will screened in New Zealand. The Pakistani and Indian communities are enjoying good relations and living in friendly environment in this country and we discourage any move to disturb this environment. We plea to Indian Film distributors, cinema management and Video outlets to refrain from business such type of films that may leave disturbing trend and effect on young minds and request them to play constructive role in improving Pak-India relations We hope Indian community itself will discourage LOC like movies as both the communities need to understand their responsibilities and challenges while living side by side in New Zealand. We all need to be sincere to peace and friendship. And teach our future generations to live in harmony and not to poison their minds with cheap propaganda.   Once again we demand to NZ Govt. that immediately ban LOC. And make sure in future no such type of hate movie will be screened in New Zealand.

Dear  Mr. BHAHTTI

It is a one of historic achievement of Pakistan community. We did not want to take any credit from those who did good jobs for Pakistani Community in past.   The campaign against LOC,is a historic achievement. First time in history of New Zealand PANZ organised such a planned protest. More than 150 people work together against anti Pakistan forces. A complete protest started from writing to newspaper, Calling concern persons, protest letters to Govt. Departments, Censor Board, Meeting with Cinema mamagement, Organising a street protest in which all men, women, youth and children participate. It is a great historical achievement of Pakistani Community.   WE appreciate your personal efforts and efforts of all those who work very hard in past against "Border". All these are miles stones of our way toward prosperity and   development. WE are not running a race or try to disgrace any body.  nither we are in competition with any body.     We respect your work and efforts for Pakistani Community and We also respect YOU. You are great.    We are not writing a history, it is a Time.     Many Thanks

Tanweer Syed President PANZ.

PANZ has became, not only dread horse but we should say it is a dead horse, and it seems that Vice president Shahid Azad is reluctant to give accounts to community , which air the flames to KALI DAL, on LOC they were jumping up and down like dread horse but on accounts they are dead, executive is using diplomacy, or we heading toward another crisis, we think this is time for change, and break the shackles, bring some AIR FRESHNER who have the guts to fresh up the AIR
