Last Friday 10:30 Phone bell ring , it is Mr Bhatti on other side of the line from Australia , after hello hay , Mr Bhatti said do you know next month is Blood Balti month , I said yes I know, and Sohni Dharti is looking for sponsor to organise Blood Balti party , without any hesitation Mr Bhatti offered his services, I thanked for his kind response and said that without his presences Blood Baliti would not be smooth as it was last time , Mr Bhatti said it doesn’t matter I am there or not my best wishes would be with Sohni Dharti and it would be honour for me if Sohni Dharti accept my sponsor for this Blood Baliti 2005
Saturday and Sunday Sohni Dharti team sit and discuses the aspect of Blood Balti , give BillaG go-ahead signal to co ordinate Blood Balti Party, Raja Naeem will provide the place and Haji Mumtaz would be the in charge of whole operation

NEW ZEALAND BLOOD SERVICE Checklist for Potential Donors To ensure we take care of our donors and collect blood that is safe to transfuse, we ask all donors to answer some health questions. Please read this information carefully. This will minimise the chance of being excluded or deferred from donating blood, and any time spent away from work. You qualify as a donor if you: Have not spent more than a total of 6 months in the United Kingdom, between 1 January 1980 and 31 December 1996 Are aged between 16 – 60 (up to 71 if you are a regular donor) Weigh a minimum of 50kg Have waited 85 days since your last blood donation and have not exceeded 4 blood donations in the last 12 months Are not known to be positive, or at risk of HIV, Hepatitis B or C virus Have waited 6 months after tattooing or body piercing Are completely well after having coughs, colds or flu Have waited a least one week after finishing a course of antibiotics and are feeling fit and well If you are pregnant, or a new Mum, and have waited until 9 months after the birth of your baby and 3 months after weaning Some donors are on medication or have conditions that will need to be discussed with a NZBS donor nurse, examples are listed below:: acupuncture high or low blood pressure and any related medication gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, stomach upsets thyroid medication skin medication Please remember, it is important to have eaten, and have had plenty of fluids before donating.If you have ANY queries please call us on 0800 692 566

We have shuttle bookings for the Mobile Collection Unit at Avondale Primary School from 10.00am and are aware you would like to start transporting some of your people soon after you meet at 11.00am. Could I ask you to telephone Matt Taylor on 021 663 298, who will be on site in Avondale, just after 11.00am. He will arrange with you a time for your first shuttle as we are aware you want to start earlier than 1.00pm. We have organised a banner for you to have outside your meeting site - it is very solourful. All the best for a great meeting - it was lovely to meet you when you were in our Donor Rooms recently. Blood Balti story starts 10 days ago , when in telephone conversation Chief of New Zealand Black cab Mr Bhatti gave go ahead signal to Sohni Dharti for Blood Balti 2005 , we started our campaign , Name with Mobile Numbers of potential blood donors in day of intense we succeed to scoured 54 name and numbers , when I told Mr Bhatti about people we will get on Blood Balti , Mr Bhatti said he is coming to give Blood Balti from Australia , it was great honour for Sohni Dharti team , So Sohni Dharti team went air port to receive Mr Bhatti Last tow days was hectic days for Sohni Dharti from mixing of food to making the ANGITHHI to make SEEKH KABAB cleaning of BBQ and test all the equipments to make this event memorable Blood Balti 2005 started with entry of Khaleel Bhai , out of 54, 25 turned up 18 of them went to give blood , one of them could not give Blood because of illness My hat goes off to all who turned up for great cause and I salute to Sabir Cheema one of the busiest businessman in Auckland , who spare his precious time for great cause of humanity for humanity, Mateen Bhai deserve special thanks, who left his office early to catch the opportunity of great cause of Sohni Dharti
An Email From Blood Bank Hello Zubair I would personally like to thank you for organising so many donors to come and give blood at our collection yesterday.
With your help we made the Avondale collection more successful than the last time we were there which is fantastic.
We had 123 people come through the doors and 102 blood units which has set us up to finish the week well over target for the amount of blood needed which is a great result. I hope that next time we can continue to work together and hopefully receive even more donors.
Once again I would like to thank you and if you could forward on a huge thank you from the New Zealand Blood Service to everyone who donated yesterday. Thank you for your support of our life saving organisation. Have a great weekend Matthew Taylor
