Any Suggestion ? About 30 members of Pakistan association gathered in hall to discuss the preparation of 14 of Aug , PANZ have made committees and coordinators for deferent parts of program Suggestion are required for food preparation , distribution and collection of funds Imtiaz Khan G/s of PANZ said "as food is the biggest item of this function which consume more then 50% fund , efforts and energy , he said last year we spent $7500 just for food , which was a bad experience , now we should find alternative way which should be less expensive and more benefited to PANZ , as , like always PANZ is struggling with funds. There are two suggestions are on table 1) we should give 7 to 8 stalls to interested parties who can cook and sell food on there stalls 2) 7 to 8 people who are willing to donate their time and efforts for food preparations and distribution , which can save us $4000 + money we generate from can go to PANZ funds if someone have any idea or any suggestion toward this matter please bring it on

I just thought I would suggest that PANZ should organise this years 14 August well, because last year their was a lot of disorganisation. Firstly, the programmes started at around 7-7:30 when it was supposed to start at five. And also their weren't many patriotic songs. The programme dragged on for too long, until around 11pm and it was a school night which meant everyone was tired to either go to work or school at around 7am, so I suggest that the programme finishes earlier at around 9:30pm. And one more thing last year the food wasn't prepared properly at all, so it would be better to get  a different person to do the cooking. Thank you

It is easy to introduced and develop a new idea to perfection as it is hard to escape from old one Free food on 14 of August has been become a tradition in Pakistani community , we must realize that things have been changed a lot from last 5 to 6 years we are experiencing a crowd more then 1200 people every year. We have also experienced that catering food for 1200 to 1500 people is close to impossible. Boldly can not afford a restaurant cooking . Idea just pop up in some mind if PANZ get 15 people each willing to cook for hundred people

To Pakiwi1 We are not alone Punctuality is not rigidly observed in many Middle Eastern and North African countries. The BBC's Heba Saleh in Cairo says that there is a tendency for everything to start late there. "If you invite people for dinner they turn up at 11pm," she says. "The big disaster is weddings, which are normally held in the evening. Very often they don't start the buffet before midnight - even if you were invited for 9pm." This appears to be the same story in other parts of Africa. In Kenya for example, everyone from the president down is late for functions. "Kenyans are notoriously late - apart from for work, because that might cost them their jobs," says the BBC's Noel Mwakugu in Nairobi. "There is an idea that all functions, official or social, won't start on time, so why bother turning up on time?"

Mr. Pakkiwi-1   Good remarks, But as Panz already 3 months before the august, As discussed in the last meeting, volunters required.   Give ur name and come for a meeting and do some work then u will be in the position to give some good suggestions not from ur bedroom.   Become practical man its a time for act not ..............huhahuha...hun aey ya oone...   We are 80 % behind from other communities thats a fact we should accept it.   Only 45 of our 5000 community give funds to Panz as per Panz announcements.   Thats a shame.   And next listen its not finished yet, Only 10 work to arrange 14th August function for 2000 people, This is another shame.   Next.... When these 45 persons spend their money and these 10 people do there hard job and then give you a function, then a person like you coming out of whole and syaing the last year was bad,, the year before last was worse,,, why dont you take charge and come to the field man.   Then we c keh aap main kitna dam hain? When you write a message write your name at the end it shows courage.   Sorry it was harsh but truth is always hard to listen.   C Ya   Akhtar Zesh

Packing and selling would be PANZ responsibility , If PANZ have decided the price of food then it would be good to let people know

60th Birthday of Pakistan   Congratulation Shahji I'd like to share something abt Allama Muhammad Iqbal [The Poet/Philosopher of Pakistan] (1877 - 1938) with my fellow MPians this time around. How can we forget his contributions!

Although Iqbal did not live to see the creation of an independent Pakistan in 1947, he is nevertheless regarded as the symbolic father of our nation.

Allama Muhammad Iqbal is generally known as a poet and philosopher, but he was also a jurist, a politician, a social reformer, and a great Islamic scholar. People even bestowed on him the title of "Shaere-Mashriq" (Poet of the East!). It may sound strange that Iqbal never considered himself a poet as is evidenced by his correspondence with Syed Sulaiman Nadvi where he is found saying:

"I have never considered myself a poet. Therefore, I am not a rival of anyone, and I do not consider anybody my rival. I have no interest in poetic artistry. But, yes, I have a special goal in mind for whose expression I use the medium of poetry considering the condition and the customs of this country."

Drop Scene 14th of Aug 2007 , more then 1000 people gathered in Mangere hall to celebrate 60th birth day of Pakistan , for Pakistani friends and families every road of Auckland leads to Mangere hall , this big day was arranged by Pakistan Association of NZ , addressing to gathering Prime Minister Helen Clark showed her concerned about flooding in Pakistan, sound system was so poor that audience could not hear any speech , After political session , it turned out to be a Gup Shup rather then a function , sound system which is a life line of any function : was a debacle, kids dances were good , as usual Aamir Khan’s songs were powerful and captivated Team Sohni Dharti did the catering for function , food was good and plentiful but little saltish , at the end we can say it was a good attempt to do a professional work in amateur way   Three Exec of Pak community, First time cought on camara, togather
