Cabinet Meeting Of PANZ

Cabinet Meeting of Pakistan Association of New Zealand was held under the chairmanship of Shahid Azad, acting President PANZ. The meeting reviewed the current circumstances and future plans in detail. The meeting decided the following in outcome

  • Cabinet Meeting reviewed its performance in the last year and expressed satisfaction of the progress and achievements it made during the course of time. It also discussed different aspects and outcome of recently held AGM and financial accounts 2003. The cabinet made it clear that each and every receipt of income & expenses is crystal clear and open to the public. The accounts have been audited by M V Reddy Taxation Services and can be viewed and explained to any body. The accounts details and break-ups are already hosted on web site and have been emailed to the community members as well. The accounts spent on various programmes were always discussed and approved by PANZ cabinet members present there and recorded minutes of all previous cabinet meetings are testimony to that. The meeting also decided to dispose internal liabilities in a scheduled way.

  • The yearly progress report has already been prepared and made accessible to the people both in electronic and print form. This report details the events and activities PANZ held in year 2003. The meeting viewed in details the changes happened in in general and executive committees for the past few months. The members appreciated the honesty, integrity and sincerity of PANZ president Mr. Tanveer Syed who is on leave for coming few months. The meeting also thanked the members of Executive Committee for their guidance, encouragement and impartiality at all the times.

  • PANZ also discussed the resignation of Khurram Zaidi General Secretary PANZ who had informed PANZ of his resignation more than a month before. The reasons cited by him at each and every time were his hectic family and job schedule. He could only attend a few PANZ meetings throughout the year for the same reasons. Cabinet accepted his resignation as the portfolio demands someone who has time to spare. Cabinet wished him best for his family and the job. Cabinet decided to deal with the issue of choosing new General Secretary according to the constitution and its relevant clause. PANZ acting President has already started consultations regarding it. Meanwhile for interim period PANZ Joint Secretary will assume the responsibilities of General Secretary that vary from dealing mails to maintaining web site.

  • The meeting decided to reopen membership campaign from March 1, 2004. The campaign will continue for next two months so that maximum number of community people might be involved in development activities. 10$ Membership fee both for individuals and the family will remain at place during the campaign. Community people have been requested to respond positively to the renewal of their membership instead of keeping themselves aloof from community activities.

  • To strengthen PANZ general accounts the meeting decided to start automatic payment donation campaign immediately so that solid foundation would be laid for maintenance of accounts and active involvement of community.

  • The meeting also decided in principal to celebrate Pakistan Day on 23rd March 2004. Certain options were discussed for celebration and final decision was deferred to next PANZ meeting. It was also decided to invite community members to give proposals on how best we can celebrate Pakistan Day. Suggestions can be forwarded to panz_inc@hotmail.com or Shahzad Sadiq at 8454896

  • Keeping with its spirit of listening and accommodating every body in democratic environment, PANZ decided to begin “face to face” dialogue with PANZ critics or any body at the place of his own choice who is really interested in questioning PANZ and its activities in a critically positive, and bashing-free manner. PANZ will send its expression of interest for such meetings to the individuals and groups for their feed back quite soon. This effort will dispel many rumors, bring unity, and remove misunderstanding among people, PANZ hoped.
