In answering the request of Sohni Dharti for distribution of Blood Balti pamphlet . Mr. Malik said PWCS could not reach the decision yet" . " because of differences of PWCS and Mr. Bhatti " Mr. Malik said I wouldn't like Mr. Bhatti name to be advertised in our Eid Show function He added that Sohni Dharti take side of Mr.Bhatti because Mr. Bhatti sponsor its Blood Balti Set Back This is a big set back to Sohni Dharti shall we say it a set back to Pak community more then this a set back to humanity, Blood Balti is pure social matter for welfare wider communities and humanity , above mentioned statement is seems total denial of PWCS name, as pre their name , they are a welfare society, above statements suggests that PWCS are politicising a humanity matter for their personal interests and personal reasons. This is my first time to writing on Sohni Dharti after reading few news and wives .I admire mr billa gee blood Balti it is pure humanitarian service their is not doubt butt its very strange some people in our community they don’t understand the meaning off welfare and they are running a welfare society they use little excuse to stop a big work of humanity there is must be sum miss understanding and I hop PWCS will support blood Balti very strongly this time as they did in past .
Sohni Dharti has no match with PWCS , PWCS is a big organisation they do mega shows, with mega spending of $26000 . Where Sohni Dharti do Blood Balti with less then $2600, don’t forget PWCS is culture society too and to promote culture you need money to burn PWCS was a big supporter of Blood Balti , until this mega show where ironically PWCS decided to stop Sohni Dharti to run it’s campaign of Blood Balti where from take away restaurants to drama program pamphlet were being distributed by other communities , Expecting world to treat you fairly because you are doing good is like expecting a bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian , obstacles and hurdles do come in every worthwhile cause , my friend , come along bring some friends have GUP SHUP and great day with great cause We thanks President of PANZ Waqar Ali who allowed Sohni Dharti to distribute Blood Balti pamphlet in PANZ 23 March function
THE GIFT OF LIFE – LUCY’S STORY There’s a blood donor walking around in Auckland who has no idea how much joy he or she has brought to a grateful Nelson family. “(It) was frightening in that Lucy wasn’t due until the 6th of July. She was eight weeks early and was immediately in line for an urgent blood transfusion.” Only twelve hours after her premature arrival Lucy was in Intensive Care receiving a complete blood exchange. “A baby has approximately 200 millilitres of blood,” Lee-Anne said. “They used 360 millilitres on Lucy. As one doctor was putting the new donated blood in, another was flushing out Lucy’s old blood, 10 mls at a time. The procedure took about two hours.” Peter Campbell, who had never been in hospital at any stage in his life, was understandably anxious, especially as Lucy was his first child. “The hardest thing was waiting for the blood to arrive for the exchange,” he said. “Lucy’s condition was deteriorating and I knew she was at risk of having long-term damage to her health.” The blood came from Auckland on a commercial flight and was delivered by courier. The result of the transfusion was remarkable. “She looked like a different baby when all the swelling had gone following the transfusion,” her grateful mother said. “When it was all over and Lucy was progressing well Peter and I were just blown away and took a moment to say thanks to the special person who donated that blood. They saved Lucy’s life.” Anyone can need blood. One minute you’re giving birth or driving a car and the next you’re eternally grateful that a fellow Kiwi has taken the time to become a donor.” Lucy was transferred from Wellington to Nelson Hospital ten days after her birth. Peter and Lee-Anne are due to take Lucy home for the first time in late June and the long-term outlook for their daughter is positive.

The one of the biggest draw-backs in communities like ours is people`s disillusionment and disinterestedness with what is happening around and every thing is viewd with suspicion. Unfortunately this psyche has slowly crept in our national mind and thus we see lot of people becoming “silent majority” who hardly take part in collective welfare and keep themselves to themselves. Under such circumstances blessed are those who remain active socially and politically no matter whether they are in power or opposition. Their commitment makes them distinguished and dignified. Any individual, group or organization that struggles to serve others and make the common people realize the importance of life and his or her positive role in it is appreciable in every aspect.I am quite pleased to see your Blood Donation Campaign getting momentum and Pak people volunteering themselves In broader perspective some good done by any Pakistani is a collective honour and helps the community to signify itself. In that sense whatever the achievement Pakistan Association of New Zealand has made are not honor to the individuals but to the community as a whole. The same is true with your blood donation campaign that will hopefully help in developing the community image in broader NZ society. We should rise above petty politics and support such activities with true spirit of collective cooperation and broad-mindedness. An Old letter from Dr Qurashi for Blood Balti 2003 From: Doc Sent: 22/10/2002 1:45 PM Dear Zubair Salim (Billa G) I think you have quite a few committed blood donors have come forward. We can go ahead and fix a date. Personally I would love to donate, and I had been donating blood. But since last year I am on medication and that's the reason I have not come forward. However I can assure the readers, once again, that within FIFTEEN minutes of giving one pint of blood, our body is so systemised that it pumps the Compressed Red Blood Cells into the blood stream. That's a "Defence Mechanism", Allah Subhana oo Taala has created in our body. In fact it's to compensate the body, of blood, in case of an emergency, say one got an accident and have bled. The bone marrow "Gooda" in "Nalli" is the store for these compressed cells and specially the one in our chest bone that's called "Sternum". That's the reason, that our "Oldies" were so very fond of having Nahari and Payey. As I have said before it is a complex physiological process, however, in common terms, let's say that when you are relaxing after the donation, at the centre for 15 minutes, your body will recoup the same amount of blood that's given. So, in short, once one goes off from Billa G's house and come back after donation, ready for Balti Goshat, their body would have the same amount of blood in their body. Blood Balti 2007 Last night 2nd of April , in support of Sohni Dharti 70 to 80 peoples walked through the Blood Balti door, out of them 42 made to Blood Bank , although compare to hard work we done in advertisement and the food we prepared , public response was less but we are proud to say that we have done a great deed , a whisper of a nurse in my ears “Another life is saved” still echoing in my mind, we can not make deference to world but we are sure the Gift of Life we have made, will make a big deference for those who are on receiving end of Blood Balti Sohni Dharti is very thankful to all who came , grateful to those who helped us to organised this Blood Balti , special thanks to PANZ G/S Imtiaz Khan for making the DVD of Blood Balti , Imran Aslam for taking on BBQ, Sharyar (MOON) for taking the responsibility of photography and Ch Yaqoob and Khalid Khan for helping Sohni Dharti all the way and Radio APNA for their support Our first aim was, the blood only Our objectives were , to bring education , information and awareness about Blood donations , we have achieved it by introducing more then 42 new people to blood bank Theme of Blood Balti was, GUP SHUP , see picture , we have done this in very well mannered Focus , we are very happy to see that all of us have justified with the BBQ Dish of the day was CHICKEN BALTI , this time have no shortage of any thing Till last moment we missed Mr Bhatti , who is one of the sponsors of Blood Balti and because of him we couldn’t find momentum for entertainment
