"ENLISTING STATION"Today I went to donate Platelets , not surprised to learn that I have to settle for plasma only because of my trip to Pakistan . Now I have to go through some health tests before palatals donation. I donated plasma and this trip to Blood Bank provided me an opportunity to meet with Tony Naztich of Blood Bank. whitch was very fruitful . Sohni Dharti requested to send an invitation latter everyone who gave blood on last Blood Balti within month of Sept and Phone call reminder to those who donated on last Blood Balti . Kalill BhaiToday I would like introduce one of our friend . Mohammad Khalil . Once he was one of the organiser of Blood Balti . Now he in hospital , going through by pass after by pass of heart. I went to visit him , he was in good mood even he has gone through 5 heart operations and two has to be done in next 2 months time .In Gup Shup time Mr.Kalill said I am prude of being part of Blood Balti and now I realized that how important is Blood Balti . Personally I would love to donate, and I had been donating blood. But since last year I am on medication and that's the reason I have not come forward. However I can assure the readers, once again, that within FIFTEEN minutes of giving one pint of blood, our body is so systemised that it pumps the Compressed Red Blood Cells into the blood stream. That's a "Defence Mechanism", Allah Subhana oo Taala has created in our body. In fact it's to compensate the body, of blood, in case of an emergency, say one got an accident and have bled. The bone marrow "Gooda" in "Nalli" is the store for these compressed cells and specially the one in our chest bone that's called "Sternum". That's the reason, that our "Oldies" were so very fond of having Nahari and Payey. As I have said before it is a complex physiological process, however, in common terms, let's say that when you are relaxing after the donation, at the centre for 15 minutes, your body will recoup the same amount of blood that's given. It has laways been a great pleasure to see people active in social sphere and rendering services that are vital in human life. The one of the biggest draw-backs in communities like ours is people`s disillusionment and disinterestedness with what is happening around and every thing is viewd with suspicion. Unfortunately this psyche has slowly crept in our national mind and thus we see lot of people becoming “silent majority” who hardly take part in collective welfare and keep themselves to themselves. Under such circumstances blessed are those who remain active socially and politically no matter whether they are in power or opposition. Their commitment makes them distinguished and dignified. Any individual, group or organization that struggles to serve others and make the common people realize the importance of life and his or her positive role in it is appreciable in every aspect.I am quite pleased to see your Blood Donation Campaign getting momentum and Pak people volunteering themselves for the functionIn broader perspective some good done by any Pakistani is a collective honour and helps the community to signify itself. In that sense whatever the achievement Pakistan Association of New Zealand has made are not honor to the individuals but to the community as a whole. The same is true with your blood donation campaign that will hopefully help in developing the community image in broader NZ society. Recipe of Blood Balti First of all find a person who is generous enough to sponsor Blood Balti (2) Find a suitable hall with 100 to 150 capacity and get the permission to do the BBQ from city council (3) contact blood bank , tell them your plan with date and time , invite Blood Bank to hall to sort out the strategy about beds and co ordinate the plan (4)arrange meeting of good friends (5) design invitation posters (best size A3) and smaller pamphlets to distribute (6) paste A3 poster every Desi shop you know (7) don’t let any opportunity to slips away to advertise it where ever its possible (8) start taking name and mobile numbers of potential blood donors it should take good 4 to 5 weeks to get to the point (9) start give the a friendly reminder about date , time, and place every week by text messages (10) call another meeting of friends get suggestion from them (11) write request to Molanas of Masjids to announce it Jumma prayer (12) sand fax to radio tarana and radio appna (14) a week before Blood Balti invite Blood Balti meeting again , as no one can do everything , sort out the duties , remember don’t push just go with flow (15) cleanup your BBQ have a test drive if possible (16) order meat and mince , must delivered on Blood Balti eve to be mixed and marinate (17) get everything ready well in time to have good sleep (18) Blood Balti day you and your team have whole day to prove the moment of truth
