Collective Donation for the Christchurch Earthquake

Dear fellow Pakistani,

The recent tragedy of Christchurch earthquake is weighing heavily on our minds, especially, on the residents of Christchurch, who suffered this calamity.

2.                     Various expatriate communities living in New Zealand have taken upon themselves to raise funds for the affected families and show their solidarity with the local community at this grave situation. Such gestures, go a long way in developing better understanding and recognition that how much the fellow immigrants care about their fellow citizens.

3.                     I would again urge all our Pakistani-Kiwi community members to please realize the enormity of the disaster and make collective efforts for donation as a community which may be handed over collectively on behalf of the entire community, at one place.

4.                     I expect that any one community based organization will step forward and take this responsibility. Alternatively, if necessary, the High Commission, will also be happy to facilitate endeavours in this regard.

Kind regards,

(Syed Ibne Abbas)
