CHAKWAL March 31.  The trial of the famous CIA Chakwal Police gang rape case have been started in the court of Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal Syed Akhlaq Ahmad, however the Judge was absent and the next date of hearing was fixed 7th April.  Two witnesses to record their statement before the court besides the petitioner Nasreen Akhwar were also present in the court.  The Division Bench of the Federal Shariat Court have remanded back this case to District and Session Judge Chakwal after hearing for seven years.  According to the private complaint ASI Mukhtar Ahmad, Sheikh Hasnain Mehdi and five other Police and civil people has abducted Nasreen Akhter and her daughter Rozina Shaheen and the seven accused had gang raped with Rozina Shaheen after putting her in the illegal confinement at the house of ex-constable Ghulam Ahmad at mohallah Dhoke Moman Chakwal.  Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal without examining the eye-witnesses of the case dismissed the case in April, 1996.  Then Nasreen Akhter filed an appeal in the Federal Shariat Court and after seven years the Division Bench of Federal Shariat Court remanded back the case and ordered that all the witnesses provided by Nasreen Akhter should be examined.  Nasreen Akhter provided a list in which Magistrate First Class Dr. Mubeen Aslam, Chairman Human Rights Commission Kamran Rizvi, Lady Medical Officer Dr. Munira Jalil who examined the victim Rozina Shaheen and it was asked that the these three witnesses should be summand through court. 

CHAKWAL March 31.  Sectarian tension was amicably solved at Village Tatral some four kilometer from here and the traditional procession was taken out and both Shehia’s and Sunnies sect participated in the procession.  According the detail there was tension among Shehia’s and Sunnies in the Village as Sunnies threatened that if the procession was taken out they will resist and on this announcement tension arose in the Village.  DSP Saddar Circle Chakwal Ch: Hanif Ahmad had a dialogue with the leaders of both the sects and convinced both of them that this tension is not in favour of the people of the Village as both the sects are Muslim therefore peace, brotherhood and sectarian harmony should be observed.  After a series of meeting between both the sects, it was decided that Shehia’s and Sunnies both will participate in the procession and exemplary display of brotherhood was scene in the Village.  However hundreds of Policemen was deputed at Village Tatral at the time of procession just to avert any un-towards incident. 

CHAKWAL March 31.  Education Department District Chakwal announced the result of scholarship examination of Primary and Middle classes.  702 male and female students participated in the 8th class while 1306 students were appeared in 5th class examination.  Miss Amara Hassan daughter of Tariq Hassain of Girls High School Chakwal stood first while Aniqa Afzal daughter of Afzal Bhatti of District Public School secured 2nd and Fouzia Naurin D/O Muhammad Afzal of Girls High School No.1 Chakwal and Abida Batool D/O Abdul Khaliq of Zaib Public School Lawa got jointly 3rd position.  In the 5th classes Hassain Lajpal S/O Bukhtiar Ahmad of Sir Syed Public School Talagang stood first, Urooj Kiran D/O Zafar Iqbal of Sir Syed Public School Mulhal Mughlan secured 2nd while Muhammad Waqar S/O Raja Liaqat Ali of Sir Syed Public School Mulhal Mughlan and Wajeha Kanwal D/O Raja Shaukat Ali jointly stood 3rd
