Musharraf says no one can threaten Pakistan's sovereignty

Musharraf says no one can threaten Pakistan's sovereignty        President Pervez Musharraf has said Pakistan is a stronger country, which will not come under any outside threat.

Addressing a gathering here in connection to the Independence Day, he delivered a message to all obscurantist elements in open words that now the nation stands united against them and for Pakistan's defence, which is much stronger now than ever.

Musharraf made it clear that no one can cross the Line of Control (LoC), because Pakistani forces can protect the country's boundaries, adding that now we have Al-Khalid tank, Augusta 90, while sooner JF-17 Thunder will be handed over to Pakistan Air Force.

The president said the defence of the country has been made impregnable and a comprehensive strategy is in place to ensure that it goes from strength to strength. Pakistan, he added, has also achieved much needed political stability for progress of the country. “There is an elected government and representatives of the people are present at all tiers of the legislature, from the national and provincial, down to the grass roots level.”

He renewed pledge to make Pakistan a democratic Islamic welfare state and urged who do not wish to see the country progress and prosper.

“If we analyse the international geo-political environment, it is apparent that countries economically, politically and militarily weak find it a struggle to exist as sovereign states on the world state,” he said and added that it was therefore a national duty to make Pakistan strong.

The president emphasised on the people to realise, as a nation, the importance of a strong, prosperous and progressive country.
