Labour will protect assets

An Email Message From Labour Party

A lot has been written recently about John Key’s conflicting comments on whether to sell KiwiBank. One thing is clear from all the confusion:
Under National our SOEs aren’t safe.
Monday night’s TV3 poll made it pretty clear that an overwhelming majority of Kiwis do not want New Zealand’s State Assets sold off.
John Key’s policy is no asset sales in his first term, so could it all be up for grabs in two years' time?
The day after the Budget Bill English was again caught out telling the truth. The Finance Minister and John Key are all for asset sales.
So let me tell you where I stand on selling State Assets.
I am opposed to privatisation of State Assets and I will reverse any decision National makes in this area which Kiwis overwhelmingly oppose.
Kiwis know where they stand on this issue. We already own KiwiBank. It’s ours; it keeps the Australian banks honest; it retains profits for New Zealanders and Labour intends to keep it that way.
