Help fight back against National’s failed budget

John Key's government has overpromised and failed to deliver,
year upon year.

And it's hurting every day Kiwis.

Your donation to the Labour Party can help put us back into
government to deliver more jobs and higher incomes.

Dear friend

When John Key's government delivered its second zero budget last
week, it also delivered four years of failed promises. Four
years of promising to get our economy on track and failing to do
so.

This National Government has the worst growth record of any
government in the last 50 years. A record 1,000 New Zealanders a
week have left for Australia in the past year.

The number of children living in benefit-dependent households has
increased in 3½ years by 33,500. Unemployment has risen by 52%
since John Key took office.

I keep hearing stories from people I meet about how the National
Government's policies and inaction are making their lives harder
by the day.

Under Labour, things will be different:

We will create jobs by supporting exporters to expand and earn
more. We will get alongside Kiwis to help them get the
education and skills they need to seize the job opportunities of
the 21st century. We'll grow incomes by investing in science
and innovation to create more high-wage businesses. This is
where our future lies. We'll make it easier for Kiwis to save
for their first home and build a retirement "nest egg".

Campaigning is an expensive business and your generosity will
ensure that we can work hard for everyday New Zealanders. The
simple fact is membership fees alone cannot pay all of our bills
.

Donations from people like you ensure the smooth running of our
Labour Party offices, as well as helping us run election
campaigns.

I am asking for your help so we can get back into government
again in 2014.

One of the things that people told me again and again during our
organisational review is we need to work smarter at our Labour
Party offices. Unlike the Nats, we know that we can't deliver on
our organisational review and the work we need to do with a zero
budget. We need to invest in our future as a Party.

So, I'm happy to tell you we will be upgrading our membership and
fundraising database this year.

I'm asking for your help to fund it. This is about streamlining
our work - if we can work more efficiently and effectively, it
will mean that we can spend more time campaigning and organising
and less on administration. This will help us win in 2014!

We need to invest in our internal Party infrastructure. Please
give whatever you can manage now to help support the Labour
Party by clicking on this link.

Thank you so much for any help you are able to give us today.

Yours sincerely,

Moira Coatsworth

New Zealand Labour Party President

P.S. If, together, we can raise $50,000 by the end of June, we
can implement the project right away and have a new membership
and fundraising database up and running by the end of the year.
