Syed Mujeeb, Staff reporter of Siasat Urdu Daily in Newzealand was awarded “Queen’s Service Medal” on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II. She is the Queen of 16 countries of the world including Australia, Canada and Newzealand.
He is the only Hyderabadi citizen who got this award. This award was given to him for the services rendered by him for the Muslim fraternity in social, educational religious fields for maintaining the identity of the Muslims.
Among those who congratulated him on receiving this medal are Governor General, Prime Prime Minsiter of Newzealand, Mr. Mushtaq Shaik, President Muslim League of Justice of Peace Mr. Nafees Akhtar, President of Urdu Hindi Cultural Association Newzealand and various citizens of India and Pakistan.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor Siasat and Mr. Amer Ali Khan, New Editor Siasat also congratulated him.
Mr. Syed Mujeeb shifted to New Zealand in 1996. he has been working for the maintenance of identity of the Muslim community in New Zealand.
He organized Miladunnabi festival on a grand scale for the first time in New Zealand in which he made an effort to communicate the teachings of Islam to the non-Muslims.
He is the member of Milad Committee of New Zealand and President of its branch at pomsby.
He presented radio programme “Today is Friday” continuously for three years in New Zealand. He is associated with various literary and cultural associations in New Zealand.
When newsmen asked him about getting this award, he said this award is not only for him, it is also an award for Siasat Urdu Daily.
He is indebted to Govt. of New Zealand and His Majesty’s Govt. for this award because the services of Muslim community have been recognized for the first time.
