Geet Mala A month ago Mr Bhatti came up with idea of Geet Mala by Sohni Dharti , Sohni Dharti liked it after getting green signal from Mr Bhatti we start looking for hall , it amazed us how hard it is to get a hall around city , we tried all city councils halls they all were booked so we have to satlled down for this school , we did not know that Sohni Dharti is this much papular in community , we thought 80 peoples are mark of success for us, it was big pleasant surprised to us more the 150 people gathered Program started with name of Allah' as our guest of honour stepped in the hall, after National anthem, Mrs Fayyaz gave brief introduction of Ed Stanton and called BillaG to present the Sohni Dharti’s Man of The Year Award of the year 2006 , this is how Billag introduce the great man Today we are gathered here to celebrate our independence day , celebrations are good, celebrations are face and forehead of alive communities , but we must not forget the tough time we been through and we must not forget those who helped us in tough time Today, among us a personality is sitting , who gave 54 big tents for earthquake victims, more then this he paid a hefty price to air lift this cargo to Pakistan, in time when we desperately need it in Pakistan I am proud to announce the name of this great man , and in maximum recepts my hat goes off for him I would like to call honourable ED Stanton for highest award of Sohni Dharti Ed Stanton, who has suffered a mild stroke, in his shaky voice he thanked for worm welcome from community , he said he said he sand to sri lanka too for tsunami victims, then this earth quack happened , we have to Act and act quick that what I did Mr Stanton could not stay with us long due to health condition and age , he is 88 years old Glen Stanton proud son of Ed Stanton , said “My father did not do it for any particular religion or culture but he donated these things for humanity sake” Talking with a community member Glen said “we are delighted by the recaption. we helped other community but this is the best recaption we have received” Dr Asharf Choudhry , said NZ is country of choice , you have brought your roots here , enjoy the diversity and keep you identity” It was a musical program, with theme of multi cultural GUP SHUP, success of this program shows community want entertainment

In a telephone conversation from OZ Mr Bhatti saya..On behalf of my family and Sohni Dharti , I am thank full to those who came to share our Mini 14 Aug , I am grateful to Munawer Khan and Amir Khan and all those who entertained the gathering , Music teem did marvellous job , my special thanks goes to Executive Pakistan community Jamshaid Ul Hassen and former Exec of PANZ Sabir Cheema who helped us to make this function a success Yaqoob Bhatti
