CHAKWAL, Sept  29: The hearing of famous CIA Chakwal
Police gang rape case was adjourned for 27th October
as Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal
Hassan Mabroor Kiani summand Magistrate who conducted
the judicial inquiry of this case in June 1995.  The
mother of the victim Nasreen Akhter and her counsel
Syed Ejaz Hussain Hmadani advocate were present on
this occasion.  The Magistrate Doctor Mubeen Aslam was
summand by the court for preliminary evidence and
notice was issued to appear before the court.  The
learned court already recorded the statement of victim
Rozina Shaheen and five other witnesses who confirmed
that Rozina Shaheen was sexually assaulted and gang
raped by the Police officials and others.  The
Divisional Bench of the Federal Shariat Court directed
the trial court that all the witnesses that were
produced by the complainant must be examined and the
case should be decided on merit.  It is worth
mentioning here that Rozina Shaheen was allegedly gang
rapped by Police officials and the case was not
registered against the accused and Nasreen Akhter
filed his private complaint before Additional District
and Session Judge Chakwal which was dismissed by the
court and an appeal was filed against this judgment
and after six years long hearing in Federal Shariat
Court, case was remanded back to District and Session
Judge Chakwal for re-trial.

CHAKWAL, Sept  29: The new Additional and Session
Judge Chakwal Mr. Sohail Nasir assumed the charge as
he was transferred here from Gojra as his predecessor
Mr. Irshad Sipra was promoted as District and Session
Judge.  In the meantime the new Senior Civil Judge
Chakwal Mr. Tariq Masood Bhatti started his court on
Monday as he was transferred here from District
Sahiwal while Senior Civil Judge Chakwal Mr. Mansab
Ali Joya was transferred to District Sahiwal.

CHAKWAL, Sept  29: A big protest rally will be held
at Pind Dadan Khan to protest against the Police
administration of District Jhelum that was failed to
trace out the killer of journalist Raja Ejaz Ahmad who
was murdered some 45 days ago.  The rally will be held
on 3rd October and the office bearers of Divisional
Union of Journalists Rawalpindi will also participate
in this protest rally.  The President Divisional Union
of Journalists Rawalpindi Khawaja Babar Salim declared
that the future line of action will be decided after
the rally and Journalists community will start a
massive nation-wide protest till the arrest of the
killer of Raja Ejaz Ahamd.

CHAKWAL, Sept  30:                    Punjab Government has sanctioned an amount of rupees 90 millions for the beautification and uplift of historic place Kallar Kahar.  A fund in the tune of rupees 13 millions have been released and in this regard an agreement between Punjab Government and District Government will be singed at Kallar Kahar, Provincial Secretary for Forest, High officials of tourism Department and District Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas will signed the agreement.  Kallar Kahar is a focal point on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway and Kallar Kahar also has a very strong historical and cultural background.  Kallar Kahar was the gateway of invaders from Afghanistan and great Mughal emperor Zaheer-ud-Din Babar establish a garden named Bagh-e-Safa.  Kallar Kahar was also had a natural lake while there are so many springs which made the area very scenic and green.  Punjab Government Lt. General 짰 Khalid Maqbool while addressing a big public meeting during the Referendum compaign of General Pervaiz Musharraf announced a very healthy package for the beautification of Kallar Kahar valley.  Kallar Kahar at present is a Union Council and the people of the area was still deprived of the basic amenities and the biggest problems is the shortage of pure drinking water as the water of springs and lake was not drinkable.  Once upon a time Mian Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister of Pakistan held a cabinet meeting at Kallar Kahar regarding the final touches and construction of Lahore-Islamabad Motorway and on that occasion he approved a gigantic project of National Highway Authority amounting rupees 560 millions and Kallar Kahar was to be made the second beautiful recreational activities center of Punjab after Murree but this project was not materialized due to differences of local members of Assemblies of District Chakwal at that time.  The people of District Chakwal and especially Kallar Kahar waited for this development package for a very long time but still it is not to late and Kallar Kahar has the potential to attract the tourists and other ambassador of the various countries at Islamabad and there is a bright chances of Kallar Kahar to become a very attractive place to visit in Punjab.

CHAKWAL, Sept  30:                    Fire crackers were exploded at Faisal Colony Chakwal at night time, resulting killing of a seven years old minor child while the eight other received burn injuries and they were immediately shifted to first District Headquarter Hospital Chakwal and then later on Rawalpindi due to there critical condition.  Zafar Iqbal resident of Faisal Colony a carpenter by profession along with his family was at the house when the fire crackers that were stored for marriage purpose exploded suddenly, resulting killing of seven years old Khurram Shahzad on the spot while Sajid Khan (11 years) Savera Khanwal (3 years) Yasmin Umar (6 years) Parveen Akhter (28 years) Azhra Bibi (25 Years) Abida Bibi (26 years) Ansar Bibi (25 years) and a four years old girl whose name were not ascertained received serious burn injuries.

CHAKWAL, Oct 1: To preserve historical, cultural and
wildlife of Kallar Kahar, a high powered Kallar Kahar
reservation commission constituted on Wednesday,
District Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas will be the
chief while Director General Wildlife Punjab, Chief
Conservative Forest Punjab and a representatives of
WWF will be its members and this commission will
formulate by-laws in this regard.  This was decided in
a meeting that was held at Kallar Kahar on Wednesday
and it was presided over by Provincial Secretary
Punjab Mr. Sajid Hussain Chattah.  District Nazim
Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas, Director General
Fisheries, Director General Wildlife, General Manager
Tourism Punjab, Chief Conservative Punjab Dr. Arshad,
representative of NESPAK Mr. Ilyas Malik, DCO Chakwal
Sajjad Salim Hotiana, Conservative Forest Rawalpindi
Range Raja Muhammad Khaliq, Representative of WWF Mr.
Richered were also present on this occasion.  The
Secretary Forest speaking on this occasion told that
Punjab Government has approved rupees 38 millions for
the development of Kallar Kahar lake and rupees 13
millions was provided in the first phase and this
project will be completed by 2005.  He further told
that jogging and walking tracks, news entry gate to
Kallar Kahar lake, picnic shelter points and sign
boards will be made in the first phase.  District
Nazim Chakwal Sardar Ghulam Abbas told that the
catchments area of Kallar Kahar lake is 3300 Kanal and
in which 2300 Kanal was a water area.  District Nazim
was optimistic that after this development project
will be completed District Government will be able to
attract the tourists from Lahore, Faisal-Abad,
Sargodha and Rawalpindi-Islamabad area and District
Chakwal had some beautiful and historical points which
are of significant importance.  He was confident that
WWF has also included Kallar Kahar lake in their
projects and in this regard wildlife and natural
beauty of the area will be preserved.

CHAKWAL, Oct 1: Young husband of a women professor of
Government Degree College for Women Chakwal committed
suicide at mohallah Chappar Bazar Chakwal on
Wednesday.  Deceased Tahir Shaheen was son of renowned
late Principal Nisar Jameel and son in law of former
late Principal Abdul Rasheed Bambal.  He had some
domestic problems and was jobless from the so many
years.  A letter was recovered from his pocket in
which he told that he had no enmity with anyone and he
was fighting with the present critical situation but
now he has no courage to face the present situation.
City Police Chakwal recovered un-licensed revolver
from the site that was used in the suicide.  Tahir
Shaheen (40) was shifted to District Headquarter
Hospital Chakwal and after his autopsy, the Police
handed over the dead body to the relatives of the
deceased and termed the death as incidentally after
registering a formal report in the Police Station.
Tahir Shaheen was also a political activist and he was
vice president of People’s Youth Wing Punjab. Tahir
Shaheen committed suicide at the house of his
father-in-law.

CHAKWAL, Oct 1: The biggest award of District Chakwal
Dhan Chorasi was presented to renowned banker Sardar
Allah Yar Khan at Chakwal press club in a simple and
interesting ceremony.  Secretary General Press Club
Chakwal Khawaja Babar Salim presented the award to
Sardar Allah Yar Khan who was a former chief of UBL
Chakwal Zone and he was transferred from here after
serving more than 3 쩍 years, Ex-Officer of UBL Chakwal
Mr. Tahir Farooqi hosted reception in his honour which
was also attended by Soofi Mushtaq Bhatti, Mian
Muhammad Raza, Sheikh Abdul Ghafoor, Iqbal Siraj, Mr.
Najaf Ali Khan, Mr. Muhammad Jahangir, Mr. Tariq
Mehmood and all paid rich tribute to Sardar Allah Yar
Khan for his excellent performance during his stay as
a chief of UBL Zone Chakwal.
