That was a great effort to start the donation process which made us able to
help our badly affcted brothers and sisters in this hard time. I my self
started this process by putting the first statement on sohni dharti just
after earthquke and given the account details of panz BEFORE DOING THIS I
DISCUSSED WITH President of PANZ and vice presidnet of PANZ. It was not
easy to start this process we have given our time, money and energy to it,
basicaly this job was done by 20 people not more than that. They were the
people who got constructive thinking and are very honest with their nation.
As General secretary of PANZ I am in contact with PANZ presedent and vice
president from PAkistan I arrived here from New Zealand on the 22nd of Oct.
The first city I visited was Karachi I found the life here is normal and
going ok, I also found there is a trust called Edhi Trust But when I gone
out and asked the common people the majority of the people are working in a
small groups collecting money or other goods and delivering it to affected
areas by theirself. I spend 3 days in Karachi and found that their are tents
available and ordered some.
Next was I landed on Peshawar International airport the firt news did upset
me when I heared that My cousin is missing in the earthquake he was in Army
so far he is considered dead, he was at the border, His whole Unit is
uncontactable even G.H.Q got no info about his whole Unit and they said
sorry we can not help and we got no contact so far.
From Peshawar air port I traveled to this side of Sindh River while the
other side is Huripore and Hazara. In this side of Tubela Dam i found all
house walls cracked, and the people very anxious and scared as at 10pm after
aftari I was sitting at Uncles home and another earthquake 5.4 on rector
scale and its happening every day or second day.
Today i am waiting for tents from Karachi and going to buy some Blankets,
Already booked a doctor and a nurse to take them with me to Earthquake
affected area.
The things I am personaly taking there are
New Blankets
New tents
Water
Medicines
Some first aid service and i am also taking some volunteers from here to
help me in this process In my first visit I will go to Aogi(Mansehra),
Batagram, and villages nearby, and depends on the situation there I will go
further to Muzaffar Abad and Balakot.
Though Pakistan Govt is doing their best but its out of their hands now.
Even United nations are loosing this battle.
My view so far from my personal experiance here is the faster you help the
most effective it will be the later you help will basicaly just formality.
To the New Zealand Pak community and Pakistan associtaion my request is
If you want to help the earth quake victoms from the bottem of your heartes
....
Please send atleast 2 trustees with the funds every thing is available in
Pakistan I am here to
co-ordinate with them.
I got accomodation for them
I can arrange transport to affected areas which is just 5 hours drive from
my residence here.
I can arrange labour workers from here.
I can arrange the required goods, medicines and some volunteers doctors.
President of Pakistan is honest man we all respect him and Edhi is also
wellknown in social works but If you want the satisfaction of the community
I will arrange a video of the PANZ relief operation the affected area and
send it to NZ.
If the funds goes to President fund the process take more than long to reach
affected areas or it may be used in construction later on as I found from my
experiance here.
If you send it to Edhi It will basicaly goes to his account and He can use
it when and whereever I trust him that will not use it fro personal purpose
but for huminity but The situation here is to act fast and do some practical
work.
My request to PANZ Prsident is Please send atleast 2 or three trustees here
asap and lets start the job.
We can make a PANZ village there for atleast 1000 people as our funds do
cover the tents, medicines, blankets and volunteers, foods etc.
And If you want a show than I have no problem to go and meet the Pak
President and give himn the cheque in front of hundred cameras. Or shake
hand with Edhi and come on the front page of newspaers here.
But know I am going to go there my self with my personal help for the
victoms If the association decided to look at reality and realy want to help
not show than lets start it. I alredy contacted three persons in the most
affected areas and they will be helpfull in co-ordination.

It’s very good to know that general secretary of PANZ is doing such hard work in helping the earthquake victims. After reading the article I feel that he has also done so much hard work in writing this message to us. God will be very happy from your work. Also what you have written here, community members will also be very happy.
BUT Mr. Secretary you have forgotten one thing, that British Pakistani community have sent approx. 1 Million UK Pound for the earthquake victims, from USA Pakistan community have sent approx. US$ 1.7 Million, from Saudi Arab till today and 1.2 Million Saudi Riyal have been sent to President’s Earthquake Relief Fund.
However none of these communities have said that they want to create their own community village there to help the victims. This is because they know that once these collected funds have been donated to Govt. Of Pakistan, they will deploy these in long term planning for the effected people. But Subhan Allah I appreciate very much about your thoughts that PANZ has collected approx, NZ$ 100,000. In these NZ$ 100,000 PANZ will make a village for the victims and PANZ will also send 2-3 Trustees to help you. To send these trustees PANZ will spend for their travel costs and then you are willing to provide them accommodation. But from a population of millions of people in Pakistan, you have not found any 2-3 people that are willing to help along with you.
Why are you asking PANZ to send 2-3 trustee’s to help you with the relief effort?
Is this because PANZ has NZ$ 100,000?
MONEY should go to Presidents Earthquake Relief Fund and then Govt. Of Pakistan have around 50,000 honest hard working people who are sacrificing their life for the rescue and relief operations. We are watching all this by electronic media coverage everyday and each minute reports are being posted. You do not need to make any special video to send us. These video broadcasts are not there to help any affected people and we have seen more then enough of this already.
I am very sorry to hear about your cousin brother who has passed away in this tragedy, my condolences are with you and your family. God will give heaven to your cousin. God bless you and your family.

I am here in Pakistan right now and watching all the development regardign earthquake, reconstruction and rehablitation process ..........President of Pakistan has developed a huge funds more than 10 Arabs rupees he never spent a single pennie out of it, every day at TV and other media his representative is giving all the accounts and balance of funds ...............he appointed General Zubair chairman of reconstruction and rehablitation process who is a very honest man and gave the assurance to the people of Pakistan that their funds will be utilized in a transparant mannar and with the consultation of the locals of effected areas..................Musharaf himselfly gave the assurance that he will be respossible for every single rupee he never appointed a civil or political person just to avoid corruption, while Edhi is bussy in marrying young girls I am here in Kashmir and I swear that 98 percent help is comming only from the Army, it is the army who is rescuing the people giving them food and medication and tranporting the allings to the hospitals. Majority of people is donating their money to the President funds to support their army...............I ask simple question if your army is fighting with a crisis in the country and other organizations are helping the army whom you should support as a ordinary citizen army or local one man welfare organizations............all the world is supporting your army admiring your army and you are supporting Edhi its very funny silly and selfish behaviour which has no justification except mal intentions

Referendum
Good to see overwhelming response from members of Sohni Dharti. Sohni Dharti thanks those who participated and casts theirs vote , It was first and biggest national level issue we discussed here, votes clear cut in favour of President funds, but bear in mind this referendum was to pave the way for crucial decision, final decision is in hands of our leaders, and leadership can go against the public decision, if still it hard to make any decision , don't forget opinion of executives

We have more then $100000, I have made up my decision 100000 will go to President funds and rest the money we will keep for other expenditures like sanding the container to Pakistan and freights for container from see port to effected areas, announced by Pakistan association president Naveed Hamid
Mr president said from today it is closing of phase one, tomorrow we will be starting phase two, he said we will be collecting FITRAN on Eid day from all available Eid GAAHs, and we need more and more volunteers to maximise our efforts,
Phase 2 money will go to our G/S who is already there in effected areas,
Sohni Dharti request to PANZ G/s to sand us some details of short term but long lasting projects like small school or any useful thing which Pakistan association can be proud of, ( original idea came from Ch Mukhtiar)
