CHAKWAL JUNE, 30. Tehsil Muncipial Administration Chakwal on Saturday approved unanimously annual budget for the year 2003-2004 in his special session presided over by Tehsil Naib Nazim Malik Altaf Dhurkana. Tehsil Nazim Chakwal Amir Khan Bhatti was also present on this occasion. The salient features of the budget were that the annual income is 110.7 millions while the expenditure will be 110.5 million, therefore it is surplus budget. The house was told that development schemes will be completed the cost of 70.32 million while the non-development expenditure is expected Rs. 40.18 millions. The house was told that Rs. 7 Lacs 32 thousand was allocated for sports, Rs. 1 million was allocated for Jashan-e-Chakwal and Rs. 1 million will be spent on street lights, Rs. 3.8 million is allocated for the union council for the provision of drinking water. It was told that Rs. 1 million each was allocated for Naib Nazim, labour, kisan and minority members will get the development schemes of Rs. 4 lacs each while the women councilors will be allocated Rs. 2 lacs each for development schemes.

CHAKWAL JUNE, 30. To provide computerized identity card in a very short time NADRA established a swift centre at district council plaza Chakwal for the convenience of the people and it had started functioning from Saturday while its inauguration will be held on 2nd July and state minister for environment Maj. (R ) Tahir Iqbal will be the chief guest on this occasion. This was stated by Director General NADRA Col. Shaukat Raza on Saturday after inspecting the swift centre. Col. Shaukhat Raza told that one can get his computerized identity card after depositing an amount of Rs. 60 at the counter with the old identity card and he will get his computerized ID card within 30 days while on urgent basis he will deposit Rs. 180 and old ID card, then he will get the computerized card within 15 days. He further told that there will be no need of filling of any form, no photograph, and no attested documents from any department. The DG was confident that the people of Chakwal will be benefited from this swift center and their problems regarding the collection of computerized ID card will be minimized.

CHAKWAL JUNE, 30. District & Session Judge Chakwal Ch. Riaz Ahmad awarded one years rigorous imprisonment and 20 stripes to an ex husband involved in QAZAF hadood ordinance. The accused Ejaz Hussain R/O Jhelum was also fined Rs. 5000/- and in default of payment he will have to undergo thee months more imprisonment. Tasleem Akhtar D/O Ghias ul Din R/O Chakwal filed a private complaint before the session court and contended that her husband divorced her and alleged an allegation of zina to her and he also denied to accept his child that was in her abdomen and charged that the growing child in the abdomen was not his child. The leant session judge after hearing the argument awarded the sentence to ex husband.
