A senior official of the Foreign Office has dismissed some news reports from Kabul suggesting that Pakistani troops had crossed into Afghan territory during operations in the Mohmand Agency in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

The senior official said that the Pakistani troops involved in operations in Mohmand Agency inside the Pakistani territory did not cross into the Afghan territory. Pakistan fully respects the international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan which is well defined and properly demarcated in accordance with the international norms and practices. Islamabad,

When asked to comment about prospects of resumption of Lahore-Delhi Bus Service, a senior official of the Foreign Office said that the three-member Pakistani delegation, led by Deputy Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, had very productive and useful talks with their Indian counterparts on June 19 and 20, 2003. Pakistan is technically and operationally ready to resume the service. The senior official added that other essential related matters, including issuance of visas and route permits, are being addressed with a view to enabling the service to resume as soon as possible.
