FREE LEARNER'S LICENCE AT  MIGRANT EDUCATION
CENTRE    ONEHUNGAA
                           
A Seminar was conducted  by the Migrant Education, Training and
Employment Centre at 5A Jordan Avenue, Onehunga. It was primarily
conducted to cater to the needs of Migrants particularly the
refugees from Afganishtan,Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Iraq,
Pakistan and Sri Lanka.It was organised and coordinated by Anita.
The organisers invited the Licensing Authority e.g. A.A. and
L.T.S.A, Bill Steedmann  and Alf Blewden, the Testing Officers of
the Drivers' Testing New Zealand.
More than 40 people from different walks of life participated in
the Seminar who were in turn provided the free Learner's Licence
in order to make them aware of Safety rules. It emphasised the
importance of road safetyy and highlighted the hazards, fines, and
casualities as a result of accidents.
The mission of the Seminar was to provide quality education, 
training and employment services to maximise social, economic, and 
cultural growth of the migrants.
The vision being to be the best service providers for all the
migrants in education and training sectors and also to provide
culturally  appropriate environmentt for all migrants. To work as 
a Team for social change and to finally promote cross-cultural
understanding between migrants and the host community.
The next seminar is likely to be conducted on  the 30th May at 10
AM  to 12 Noon by Rohan Jaduramm Vamadevan at Migrant Education
Centre,  5A, Jordan Aveenue, Onehunga..
