CHAKWAL MAY 8. District Assembly Chakwal on Thursday
approved the additional revised budget for the year
2002-2003 as rupees 90 millions was further allocated
to District Government Chakwal from Punjab Government
after the award of provincial finance commission,
however the opposition members walked out from the
session and protested that the revised budget copies
was not provided to them, therefore the session should
be postponed for two days and members after seeing the
revised budget, they should present their suggestion
before the house but the speaker Malik Naeem Tariq
rejected the demand of leader of the opposition Major
짰 Abrar Hussain Shah, the opposition members boycotted
the session and walked out from the meeting.  Later on
convinor Finance Committee Maqbool Hussain Shah told
the house that after the revised budget the annual
budget of District Government for the current year was
enhanced upto rupees one billions and 340 millions.
The house was further told that the Governor Punjab
announced electrification of ten Village during his
visit to Chakwal and Punjab Government provided funds
for it.  The house was further told that Governor
Punjab also announced two dialyses machines for
District Headquarter Hospital Chakwal and the funds of
rupees five millions were also provided to the
District Government.  Later on the leader of the
opposition Major 짰 Abrar Hussain Shah along with
opposition members called on DCO Mr. Sajjad Salim
Hotiana and told him the one way traffic of the ruling
group who had not allocated a single penny for
development for those elected Nazmeen who belongs to
the opposition and in this way the spirit of
devolution of power was totally negated.  DCO assured
the opposition members that he will probe into those
matter who was under his jurisdiction and if
irregularities was found, it would be redressed. 

CHAKWAL MAY 8. District and Session Judge Chakwal Ch:
Riaz Ahmad confirmed the bail before arrest of a
housewife who allegedly burnt her female servant
Robina.   The eye-witness of the case appeared before
the court and recorded his statement and told that he
was not present at the time of occurrence and he did
not know any thing about case.  The learned judge
after recording the statement confirmed the bail
before arrest of Mrs. Nasreen Akhter.  In the meantime
Additional District and Session Judge Chakwal also
confirmed the interim bail before arrest of Nayyer
Mehmood S/O Ghulam Ali who in a bogus transfer letter
of a vehicle put his signature as eye-witness and
Dhudial Police registered a case of fraud and cheating
against the accused. 

CHAKWAL MAY 8. The leader of Pakistan Muslim League
Quaid-e-Azam and MPA Mrs. Maha Raja will participate
in meeting the press program of Chakwal Press Club on
9th May at 1100 hours.  She will give details of her
rupees ten millions development program that was
allocated to her and the development schemes she
provided to the concerned authorities.  Her father,
renowned politician, former advisor to Chief Minister
Raja Munaawar Ahmad will also be present on this
occasion.
