CHAKWAL MAY 2ND. Punjab Government is making all out
efforts to promote mining in the province and a master
plan have been chalked out for the salt range area,
some more benefits will be given to the labourer while
the mine owners will be facilitated and a separate
department of mineral department have been
established.  This was stated by Provincial Minister
for Mineral Sibtain Khan while addressing the mine
owners of the salt range area on Friday at mining
college Katas some 30 kilometer from here.  The mine
owners briefed the minister about the problems faced
by the mine owners and especially they demanded that
the mining should be treated as industry as no
financial institution is ready to finance them against
the alloted leases into their names.  The minister
told that the Punjab Government is earning handsome
amount through the mineral and now a handsome amount
will be invested to promote and explore mineral in the
province by the Government.  He asked the private
sector to come forward and establish thermal power
station in the salt range area and the Government will
provide all necessary facilities in this regard. 

CHAKWAL MAY 2ND. City Police Chakwal nabbed an
accused Abdul Hafeez S/O Lal Hussain resident of
Village Jatli and recovered 22 bore illicit pistol
from him and after registering a case the accused were
sent to the judicial lockup.  In the meantime DSP
Saddar Circle Chakwal Ch: Hanif Ahmad directed the SHO
of City Police Station Chakwal that there will be no
business of the selling of prize bond numbers in the
shops and strict action should be taken against them.


CHAKWAL MAY 2ND. PTV World telecast a documentary
film on District Chakwal on 3rd May at 1300 hours in
its program Kisan time.  The film was prepared with
the cooperation of Chakwal Forum.  The educational
problems as well as the law and order situation and
other historical and cultural aspects of the District
will be highlighted.  The educationist, District Nazim
Chakwal, DPO Chakwal were also interviewed in this
documentary.  The program will be telecast on
satellite channel and it will be scene around the
world.
