CHAKWAL AUGUST, 5. The people of Union Council-III
Chakwal City got infuriated when XEN WAPDA Chakwal was
reluctant come in the open katchery announced by WAPDA
and when SDO WAPDA is placed appeared before the
consumers, the people got enraged and they shouted
slogans against XEN WAPDA.  The people did not listen
to SDO WAPDA and submitted all their applications and
complaints to the Nazim of Union Council Ch: Khan
Bahadar.  The people were of the view that the XEN
WAPDA did not turn up despite the announcement of open
katchery in the local newspaper and the absence of XEN
was a clear massage that such type of open katchery
are just waste of time.  The people demanded immediate
transfer of XEN WAPDA.  In the meantime XEN WAPDA Mr.
Manzoor Ahmad was of the view that there was a
mis-understanding the time and date of the open
katchery and the allegation leveled against him was
not correct. 

CHAKWAL AUGUST, 5. A 25 years old young man was
electro ducted at Village Warwal some 30 kilometer
from here on Monday morning.  The deceased Muhammad
Tahir resident of Bhalwal District Sargodha was
working at poultry farm and due to heavy rain the
electric pool was short circuited and he was hit by
electric shark.  He was shifted to District
Headquarter  Hospital Chakwal but he did not survive.


CHAKWAL AUGUST, 5. An old man was deprived of 250
British pounds which was sent to him by registered
post.  Manzoor Hussain resident of mohallah Siddque
Chakwal received a registered letter from England in
which 250 pounds were sent to him by his relatives by
a registered letter and insurance by 250 pounds only
words were inscribed in the letter.  Manzoor Hussain
open the letter in front of postman but the 250 pounds
were missing from the letter.  Manzoor Hussain
immediately lodged a complaint to General Post Office
Chakwal but so far the old man was not given any
satisfactory reply from the Post Office. 

CHAKWAL AUGUST, 5. Director Information Punjab
Rawalpindi Directorate Imtiaz Hussain Malik visited
Chakwal Press Club on Monday and he was briefed about
the working of Chakwal Press Club which was
established by the journalist community through self
help base with the cost of rupees 1.5 million and only
rupees 3 lac and 91 thousands was provided by Punjab
Government in 1986.  The Director was further told
that there is desperate need of Library in Press Club
which Director Imtiaz Malik assured that during the
visit of Chief Minister Punjab to District Chakwal, he
will recommend this Library.  Later on while speaking
at the meet the press program director Imtiaz Malik
was of the view that in the present situation print
media is more powerful then nuclear weapon and the
freedom of press enjoyed by the journalist community
in this present Government is un-comparable, therefore
the responsibility of journalist community is far more
as compared to the past.  Director Imtiaz Malik was of
the view that the democratic institutions was
restored, new District Government system have been
introduced and all the powerful bureaucracy is
replaced by the elected representatives of the people
and by no means it is silent revolution.  He urged the
journalist community to promote democratic system and
democratic institution in the country.  He admitted
that the regional journalist was facing great
hardships and pressure while performing their duties
and Government is considering seriously to provide
maximum facilitates to the journalist working in the
far-flung and rural areas.
